This brings back memories! I was there in the Trinity Road. Not seen footage of this before. We ( Villa) had a decent side but Arsenal were a class act. This was the year of the classic Liverpool title decider i think?
It was indeed the year. My old man & uncle were there to witness that “it’s up for grabs now” moment. They went to this game too & I’m pretty sure that they said the Aston Villa fans applauded us off the field at full time. Villa Park has always been a great away day. Nice old school ground but been a while since I went. Think it was when we had the mighty Chamakh playing upfront for us & I seem to recall that the donkey scored which for us was a bloody relief! I think it was 3-2 & Wilshere scored a last minute header but the headline act was Pires. The build-up was due to it being his first game against us.
My Dad took us to this game. We parked one street away from the ground and 2 Brummie kids offered to keep an eye on our car for £1 😂The man on the gate allowed me and my brother in through the same turnstile click for £1.50. Happy memories.
a different time mate might as well have been a million years ago. Goalkeepers caught the ball and defenders hoofed It out of play if in doubt and all that.
David Rocastle what a Great player and Arsenal legend
RIP David Rocastle brilliant goal from a brilliant talent YNWA
Can't even say "you gotta be kidding me" with that spectacular strike from Rocky! Can say "Top drawer" though. 👏👏👏👏⚽⚽⚽
4:55 Tony Adams: the epitome of a captain, what a legend.
Oh Rocky Rocky !!!! Loved him
Brian Marwood. Possibly the most underrated player ever.
Rocky scoring our second goal at Villa Park was so sweet.
Great player and underrated somewhat Kevin Richardson.
0:55 is one of the greatest saves I've ever seen.
