I love how Wrath handles the Lich. You are evil, it's not avoidable, but you can flavor that evil. You can be skeletor evil or some kind of well intentioned evil who embraces lichdom for the sake of the world.
Yeah I like that it has the balls to stick to its gun. Even if you want to be a "the ends justify the means" type of antihero, it's clear that it would be delusional of you. You're still forcibly raising the dead against their will, it's TORTUROUS for them to exist like this, they loathe you for it and wish nothing more than to be released from this plane. You're trampling the free will of thousands of sentient beings with your every step along this crusade.
@@PotionSmeller It's worse than that. Undead in Pathfinder run on an extraplanar energy source called negative energy, some of them have to sustain themselves in other ways as well, but what makes their withered, rotting flesh and emaciated skeletons actually get up and move around is negative energy. This stuff is basically pure concentrated antilife, and the more of it you bring to the prime material plane, the worse things go there. In raising an undead army you are literally slowly bleeding away the very life of the planet you're on, it's not a fast process even with hundreds of undead minions, but you're still screwing everyone else over.
I picked Lich as my first playthrough as a Monk and had a great time with the Lich. The corruption of your soul and the Holy crusade being told "hey I know undead are kind of taboo but the undead are really useful is fun" I did the whole well intentioned evil until I completly gave into it during Act 5. Great Lich experience, best in any game.
Haha thank you. This video definitely took a little bit longer. I moved and didn’t have any internet for over a month. Hopefully the next one comes out faster.
I forget if you showed it already, but V Rising has a whole Unholy/Necromancer spell class where you can build your entire character around raising a small skeleton army.
Thank you for just making a series of videos showcasing games that lets you play as a necromancer and saving me the pain and suffering of having to google that shit every 3 or so years.
Some of the funniest stuff I've done in Pathfinder Wrath, is taking Enduring Spell (and Greater Enduring) from the mythic path, and slapping it onto a wizard with the extended spell metamagic. 24hr long buffs like Mass Bears Endurance, Mage Armour, etc? It's great. And if you use the toybox mod, you can lower the threshold to which Enduring activates and make summons that last 24hrs too!
Its always interesting and surprising to see other peoples minds do their thing and work in ways i cant even imagine the idea that someone would interpret the end of act2 in WoTR as a sort of ending never even crossed my mind the start of act3 was probably when i was most engrossed the first time i played the game and for most people who have played it multiple times its when the game really starts i mean like 90% of the game is still left at the start of act3. also if the number on ur crusade army is 2 higher than the enemy number they will flee and u win the battle automatically.
Yeah I don’t even know myself why I feel that way. I know it’s weird and super specific for myself but yeah. I really hope I manage to get back into it still. Because I really loved my time with it.
The pathfinder games suffer from the problem that the most optimal way to play is to spend 10 mins before every battle, casing a long ass sequence of buffs on yourself i found it tedious that too many of my combat encounters were too dependant on this repetitive flavour of preparation, and that i'd get owned if i tried to wing it Baldurs Gate 3 makes this a lot better, by having most buffs last until the next long rest, instead of a short time limit, and by making most of them exclude each other, so you're choosing what to use instead of grabbing everything
I'd been interested in the Pathfinder game but didn't think I would be able to run it. This got me to look at it again and not only does it look like I can but it's on sale right now. Thanks
Nice, always enjoy these uploads! Don't know if it's still available but Kingsway added s necromancer class some time ago, I've played with it a bit and it's good fun to just dump 20 skeletons on a boss and go make lunch while you wait lol. Though it's a game published by adult swim games which Warner brothers shut down last month so alot of their games got delisted on the 6th, the developer did say they'd try to keep it available so idk where it currently sits.
It might be a bit of a stretch, but “Battle Chef Brigade” has a playable character named Ziggy who is a necromancer Lich that summons skeletons and demons to help him gather ingredients (in a side scrolling beat em up style) to then cook fast food (in a match three puzzle game).
Unless I missed a video where you talk about it, Exanima has necromancy of sorts, it's actually thaumaturgy, but still you can kinda revive dead enemies to fight for you, mostly humanoid though.
I think I mentioned it in a previous one and how I had problems really getting into it. But maybe I didn’t. At some point, I definitely want to get to the point where you get that magic, but I haven’t yet, sadly.
@@RisingBlurTR Yep it's a pretty lengthy grind through mostly melee encounters while being rather weak since you're investing in perks that don't help, not to mention the unnecessarily complex way of getting to it, but it pays a lot. One of my runs killed the last boss, or at least the hardest one of that version with just my minions. It's also a bit broken, in a bad way, the minions can easily start fighting each other.
I recommend to try Path of Achra, traditional roguelike, it's got several ways to necromance summon bleeding corpses with a GORE CHANT, turn anything that's not a lowly animated Cadaver including your allies into a Cadaver on kill, summoning a shitton of skeletons, feeding your weak summons to your Honored Dead superskeletons and your own Master Doom armor of darkness necromancer and pain cleric are great fun in it, and so is death knight wormborn etc
I'd like to see you do a round of strategy games with mostly Age of Wonders, Heroes of Might and Magic, and Spellforce Conquest of Eo since I think it really gives you the scale of a neceomancer on a nationwide scale with a lot of fun mechanics
You can let the crusade system play itself, or even turn it off. you need to do it to get the *secret* ending, which requires many many check list items from you that you are extremely likely to miss if you aren't following a guide. I say that to encourage you to turn the crusade system off. It also takes a brief brake in act 4 where it turns off completely, but only until act 5.
11:25 That spawned off of DND when they dropped everything to do with 3.5 and released 4... (Yes Pathfinder is basically DND3.5 with some houserules(at least the first edition, i always forget pf2e exists))
I actually had the opposite experience with WotR and BG3. BG3 ghouls annoyed the crap out of me, constantly got me stuck on doors, and were too weak. Eventually I swore off using them entirely. Where as WotR Lich was a hoot and I went through the game using nothing but Lich spells.
@@RisingBlurTR yes, it was developed by some of the 3.5/4e people (Idk if there were new people) who wanted to kinda fix the game, keep it crunchy and not go the streamlining path I dont quite remember if it was a offshoot of 4e or if it was an offshoot of 3.5e and a competitor to 4e while actually having nothing to do with 5e
Your characters get tired BECAUSE you are too heavily weighed down. The mechanic that makes you drop everything is there as a warning system to stop players from trudging forward while weighed down unnecessarily. Basically: learn to leave stuff behind.
if I were to recommend a necromancer game I think one of the total war games because of the vampire coast, vampire counts and the tomb kings but if you were to play them playing a different faction first might help convey the feeling more
Don't worry, I LIKE Heroes of Might and Magic (the system that popularized the crusade combat style) and *I* turned off the crusade system. It's not well fleshed out, and I came for a CRPG party story game, not a tactics hero battler *shrug*
Yeah exactly. I am a massive turned based strategy fan but god damn it was so annoying. It‘s like when a shooter suddenly has a mandatory 2D jump n run section. It‘s just jarring and not why I am here, even though I normally would like it.
lol what you explain that you over-encumber your characters, and then complain about how quickly they get fatigued ...because you over-encumber them lol god vid tho
the animations are cute, but they are so long, i want to see the game play, so i am skipping over with alot of what you are saying because there is just one frame of animation and you reading multiple sentences during it.

Yes, love the animations and intro definitely worth the wait
I love this series.
I love it too! Thank you for enjoying my lil series as well :)
Your graphics and animations are fab - I enjoy them so much :-)
thank you a lot. This means everything to me.
I am constantly trying to improve them!
Tainted Grail: Conquest has a cool necromancy class
Arcanum has a necromancer class as well.
And heroes of might and magic 3 has a skelly race too.
HoMM3 Necropolis is also so powerful its banned in PVP tournaments.

Hopefully they manage to make their games available again…
Age of wonders 4 has good necromancy gameplay
Finally Pathfinder. Lets gooo!
It is the time again!
Really enjoyed the video.
See how you made the pictire in the end was so damn cute
Your artstyle is amazing

Pathfinder was also an offshoot of a previous version of D&D
As far as I know, it was actually developed by the same people who made DND originally, was it not?

i think you should try Vrising, necromancer is really fun in that game
Have you came across any VR necromancer games?
No I have not but that would be interesting 🤔
Finally, new bone soup *slurp* mmm delicious.
I made it with my entire soul!
