I’m a little disappointed the chainsaw doesn’t feel as satisfying and epic in the remake Yes it’s supposed to be fast but the animation doesn’t have that same crunchiness as the original which is odd considering the remake improves upon the general feel and look of the combat
Remake chainsaw looks tacked on and given minimal effort. With today's technology you'd think there would be actual impact instead of just knocking things down like they were hit by a chainsaw shaped club.
Hello, in the original game it happens at random, usually after defeating a enemy with the chainsaw. In the Remake he will do the taunt when a enemy is near by.
Back on the original on the PS2 for the green hyper spray had to play on hard difficulty and hard riddle level, take less than 500 points of damage, kill 75 enemies by melee, 75 enemies by shooting, beat the game under 3hrs and complete the boat crossing to Lakeview hotel in under 1min 20secs. 😬

Noticed there isn’t any James death youtube vids for the remake. Is it not that great or like doesnt make a good video? I havent seen much of the remake yet
The death animations are more like fall down animations. James just kind of collapses in a few different (and slightly cinematic) ways. I don’t think there are enemy-specific death animations. Although there’s one for choking/coughing on that sludge that an enemy sprays at James. Nothing over-the-top like what you would expect from Resident Evil 4 or Dead Space.
For a 2001 game there is a neat detail of starting the chainsaw animation in the original as well as better blood splatter compared to bloober's dumbed down indie RE2R clone that is SH2 Remake
Don't need gore and dismemberment to make Silent Hill good. You need the psychological horror. Go to something else like Resident Evil if you want dismemberment but everyone comes to Silent Hill for the psychological horror and the rusted Otherworld.

So glad they kept the chainsaw

OG engine sounds like a train but in the remake a real car engine

Should've added a sack bag with eye holes for James to wear in the remake to pay homage to another franchise that shall remain nameless...
*wink wink*
Resident Evil 4
Nameless ? Resident evil chainsaw ganados
Yeah but then James would have to get parried with a knife.
SH2 came out before RE4. But ok.
Imagine in this part 0:18 , someone screams “Os voy a romper a pedazos” 😂

Hope they kept the green hyper spray after getting a 10 star play though?
I don’t think the remake has a star system, that’s been scrapped
🥹This is true.
I hope for that too

how do you rev up the chainsaw? or when he left it up and screams?
Did you figure it out?

Lift and scream is an idle animation in the original.

As far as I can tell there aren't unique game over screens for James, he just falls over like he did in the OG.
Yeah, I want to see some deaths, especially when you get grabbed
Mostly just James getting knocked down

Silent hill doesn’t focus on gore. It focuses on psychological and body horror
