That Solo/Aphra Nest scene makes me think there should be a note that says "Insert Hanna-Barbera sound effects here". Just like how the scene where Vader single-handedly takes on an entire army by himself without breaking a sweat should have anime music.
While the nest scene is pretty goofy, Vader does not take down the whole army with brute force alone, he mostly uses cunning and strategy. Pulling the pins out of their grenades with the force, or luring in star fighters and then taking them down with the gun he repaired from his downed Tie-Fighter.
Vader Down is a fun story that is "epic" and I definitely love it, even with the things Sal points out in the video that are dumb. And Carbon is the dumbest of the dumb in this book. Great stuff as always
hey comicpopulation I know this is off topic but did anyone else think Dutch in predator when juggernaut said "knock knock"? 🤔 anyway like clockwork we have ourselves another great back issues. ty comic pop.
To be fair, Vader wasn’t truly trying to kill Luke in RofJ, he was holding back. And Palpatine had a failsafe to kill Vader with Force-Lightning by making his suit weaker to it.
Lol 21:25 just gave me an idea for an amazing edit for a new hope. "That presence.... I haven't felt that since..." *Smash cut to Anakin on fire* "..." *Darth Vader quickly walks away*
Geeze this is the 5th Marvel Back Issues in a row. I understand the movie tie in and Im actually pretty excited for this Back Issue since its a decent event and right about the time I stopped reading Marvels Star Wars comics, but I am missing some DC. Either way thanks for being an awesome channel.
Hell yes. The new Marvel Star Wars comics are tons of fun, with plenty of ridiculousness that make it perfect for Back Issues. Thanks for doing this y'all, I'd love more of this!
I dunno man, I really liked this trade when I picked it up last week. Seeing Vader just destroying wave upon wave of rebels was radical. But I haven't read it in a year, so I'll have to check it out again sometime this week.
I enjoyed this event but it really feels like the epitome, and the video summarized this perfectly, "I love Star Wars.... but Star Wars is so dumb sometimes" because both statements are true and really captured in this crossover
Found this just recently, but like listening to the old 90s audio books of Star Wars stories hearing the speculation of what Black Krrsantan is pronounced versus what it actually is pronounced in Book of Boba Fett is humorous to me. "It's pronounced Black Chris Stanton..." lol
this is just great, i never knew i wanted this but turns out i did, especially loved the vader super sayian rant, that part alone i think deserves to be animated.
There actually were some little nods to Indiana Jones in the Clone Wars cartoon. One senator has the staff of Ra headpiece on his cane and in one episode a bounty hunter needs a new hat and picks up Indy's hat before picking a different one.
Okay you see, this s*** (9:18-15:20)...this stupid s*** right here is the reason why I don't read the Star Wars comics. Who ever came up with Dr. Aphra's "crew" is trying WAY TOO hard. Oh yeah thank you Ethan, THEYRE ROBOTS, JUST PROGRAM THEM TO BE EVIL, DONE!
Hello Comicpop thank you for your wonderful videos on back issues the videos rock. Have you guys done a video on V for Vendetta Graphic novel I have not find a great video review on the book
I expected you guys to cover the Solo miniseries due to the movie. Vader Down was a much better story, though. Looking forward to watching this tonight.
Ah, Man. This Back Issues Was Hilarious. It's Even Better Without Context For The Star Wars Comics. Can't Wait For The Momment Luke And Vader Finally Meet. Keep Up The Good Work @ComicPop.
If I'm remembering right, he played with the idea when the movie came out, but when such a hullabaloo was made about it he decided "It's a comic book channel, not a movie review channel and Star Wars isn't a comic book movie." and didn't give a review or his thoughts on the movie. He may have since, but if he did, I didn't see it.
Loved this week's back issues, hilarious stuff. I hope there is a cyborg calamari character in solo, just so that he can fall on his face in his scene. I hope you guys eventually do Gillen's Vader run, I think it'd be a lot of fun to watch. One question though: what made you change the back issues thumbnail again? I was just starting to get used to the other one too. I'm just saying, without your faces on the thumbnail, or even something more defining like with your other series, I don't know it's you, and I feel like it's less you guys making a video, and more like the channel demanding it's weekly sacrifice for views, if that makes any sense. I don't want to come off as one of those assholes on the internet, I'm just wondering what made that decision occur is all.
Question: Is a degree in archaeology recognized on a different world than the one you earned it on? Does anyone check your archaeology credentials when landing on said new world? Is there a galactic licensing board that sets training standards?
Does anyone else find it funny that Sal cut out doing Tag and Bink just like how they got cut out of Solo?
Ethan and Sal's Palpatine bits are one of the funniest things on this channel.
They gotta put that line in cinema. "All I am surrounded by is fear and dead men." Savage!
That clip of Sal saying "Laaaazy" needs to be used every time a writer poorly cheats their way out of a scene.
That Solo/Aphra Nest scene makes me think there should be a note that says "Insert Hanna-Barbera sound effects here".
Just like how the scene where Vader single-handedly takes on an entire army by himself without breaking a sweat should have anime music.

Pulling the pins out of their grenades with the force, or luring in star fighters and then taking them down with the gun he repaired from his downed Tie-Fighter.
Still badass though.
21:17 the “high ground” joke about Vader hits especially well now that we saw him do this in the Kenobi series 😂
Why does everyone ignore that the ewoks eat people. All those dead stormtroopers from Jedi were on the victory menu.
DaveFu Teddy Bears gotta eat what they gotta eat
So that explains all the Stormtrooper helmets they were using as a drums that's f***** up
Hey man, human is always on the victory menu.
...for aliens. Yeah.... That's what I was talking about.... Aliens.
The banter between these guys is priceless. Bravo, gentlemen 😆👏
I would LOVE to see ComicPop do _Tag & Bink Are Dead_ !
It may not have mainstream name recognition, but its pretty-much the peak of Star Wars fandom!
Plus its very important to knoe the truth about Manny Bothans
Loved the Crystal Skull rant at the end. I legit laughed out loud for a good minute
A lot of villains are just evil versions of the heroes. Zod to Superman, Green Lanterns to Sinestro, most of Batman's rogues are pissed off orphans
And none of them are as lazy as The Flash and The Reverse-Flash. Flash is my favorite but Jesus how did they get away with that?
@@crimsonking440yeah he doesnt even run backwards!
Every time you guys do a Star Wars video, they’re always filled with some of the funniest jokes and references. I love these.
Vader Down is a fun story that is "epic" and I definitely love it, even with the things Sal points out in the video that are dumb. And Carbon is the dumbest of the dumb in this book.
Great stuff as always
You guys are on fucking fire with this episode. I started laughing at that Leia fake out and didn't stop until the end!
Don't worry about not putting up batman sal. If you squint really hard Darth Vader looks like batman
megamonmon I disagree, he should feel ashamed and have to do a hard time for this. 20 lashes, and 60 push-ups on your knuckles
J. White no 50 Batman back issues every Wednesday for 1-6 months
megamonmon Yes with a red light death sword
RedLightning17 he had a light saber in his belt in batman brave and the bold cartoon
You know, back issues covering starwars is more special to me than any of my future children. Thanks guys , every time and may the force be with you
I almlst cried of laughter when you guys got to the part where chewy fought black krysantann.
1:50 "Oola is attractive, I'll grant you that." This is such a funny line
Hell yes. Vader is so bad ass in this comic.
One of the funniest back issues that I have ever seen 😂😂. This deserves a ton more of views
hey comicpopulation I know this is off topic but did anyone else think Dutch in predator when juggernaut said "knock knock"? 🤔 anyway like clockwork we have ourselves another great back issues. ty comic pop.
i LOVED this event and it's so cool to see you guys cover something i've actually read.
I haven't felt that since..."
*Smash cut to Anakin on fire*
"..."
*Darth Vader quickly walks away*
Ethan: I don't watch much media, but when I do, it has a red letter!
25:20 reminds me of Archer, “I survived the crash somehow!”
I LOVE these star wars back issues episodes! There's always at least one hilarious moment in every episode.
John S DC will be next week with batman. Sal already commented some regret on how marvel heavy the current schedule is
Hell yes. The new Marvel Star Wars comics are tons of fun, with plenty of ridiculousness that make it perfect for Back Issues. Thanks for doing this y'all, I'd love more of this!
Ethan predicted Palpatine clones
You just have to do the rest of this Darth Vader run it’s brilliant
A shitty day at work... But at least theres Back Issues! 😊 Thank you guys!
Crystal Skull makes me want to throw books too. Most things with Shia Leboef do that.
I dunno man, I really liked this trade when I picked it up last week. Seeing Vader just destroying wave upon wave of rebels was radical. But I haven't read it in a year, so I'll have to check it out again sometime this week.
Hey.
I liked the Temple of Doom.
1:03:51 What a great way to end an episode! Thump
Great episode, perfect ending, and super chill outtro song great jobs guys!! :D
This was a fantastic episode guys laughed my ass off the entire time!
Oh yeah, that movie comes out this week. I forgot that was happening.
Can you guys do new 52 earth 2. Please, also love your show.
Im still waiting all these years later for that tag and bink episode of back issue.
Kudos to Sal for getting Ben to ACTUALLY participate in a Star Wars back issues episode! ;) lol
Liked for the high ground joke.
Long time viewer just now getting to these Star Wars themed ones. I've been missing out, these are hilarious.
I enjoyed this event but it really feels like the epitome, and the video summarized this perfectly, "I love Star Wars.... but Star Wars is so dumb sometimes" because both statements are true and really captured in this crossover
If you were rich and lived 100 years ago you could just join a club and go grave robbing, cause that’s what archeology was back in the day
Can you do Batman Dark Victory?
Found this just recently, but like listening to the old 90s audio books of Star Wars stories hearing the speculation of what Black Krrsantan is pronounced versus what it actually is pronounced in Book of Boba Fett is humorous to me. "It's pronounced Black Chris Stanton..." lol
Even a broken Star Wars is right at least twice a year!
I've really been looking forward to this coverage. Thanks as always Sal, Ethan and Ben!
best ending ever amigos
Sal didn't like Last Jedi confirmed! Launch on him internet! XD
Ya get that thing I sent ya?
23:50 for future Morgan
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS EPIC SERIES!!!!!!
this is just great, i never knew i wanted this but turns out i did, especially loved the vader super sayian rant, that part alone i think deserves to be animated.
There actually were some little nods to Indiana Jones in the Clone Wars cartoon. One senator has the staff of Ra headpiece on his cane and in one episode a bounty hunter needs a new hat and picks up Indy's hat before picking a different one.
Also when the separatist leaves ryloth they take the arc of the covenant with them
Triple 0 is the poor mans HK-47
8D-88 or bust.
That Wookie looks like an older, more badass version of Beast.
Will you do Tag and Bink?
lol, Three's Company WOW nice deep dive Sal (no really I mean it sincerely nice) :-)
Man, I hope you guys do a back issues on DC’s Simon Dark. Remember that? I recently did.
I'm pretty sure there's an episode of Rebels where they get A-wings for the rebel alliance. I could be wrong, though.
Right in time for me to wash up! That's comic pop making ordinary life interesting
Holy Fuck! A Time Splitters refference! Nice!
It’s a good thing they didn’t do tag and bink. Especially since they didn’t appear and Black Santa did appear in Bob-a-feet
Vader is muh boi.
Love the show, but I'm Star Wars out for a few decades. I'll leave the video playing in the background though.
Did you see Star Wars? Then you'll be fine.
I do not care for Aarons Star Wars work. But by god do I love Kieron Gillens Vader and Aphra.
hey Sal I was wondering what your thoughts on Spiderman:The death of Jean Dewolfe and is it any possibility you’d cover it on Back issues.
Definitely
Now ask them to do jango fett open season
"Why not anything then?" I know you're joking but I would love to see all of that.
Solo is the most underrated starwars movie.
I'd add R2D2 and Yoda as competitors for most popular.
Hello Comicpop thank you for your wonderful videos on back issues the videos rock. Have you guys done a video on V for Vendetta Graphic novel I have not find a great video review on the book
This Indiana Jones rant at the end made me miss Tangents
I expected you guys to cover the Solo miniseries due to the movie. Vader Down was a much better story, though. Looking forward to watching this tonight.
You guys should do the Vader series, its a great addition to the star wars canon
Ah, Man. This Back Issues Was Hilarious. It's Even Better Without Context For The Star Wars Comics. Can't Wait For The Momment Luke And Vader Finally Meet. Keep Up The Good Work @ComicPop.
I love how this is just break comic books and shows how they aren’t logical.
The robot hate started well before invincible
Please, please, please do Tag and Bink are Dead. I've heard about it but never read it.
It's great!
They gotta make the droids the same so hasbro can shamelessly shit out the same action figure with a different paint job
Has sal or the comic pop crew ever just sat down to talk about the last Jedi. Or is he public avoiding the topic for fear of the Star Wars Lynch mob?
If I'm remembering right, he played with the idea when the movie came out, but when such a hullabaloo was made about it he decided "It's a comic book channel, not a movie review channel and Star Wars isn't a comic book movie." and didn't give a review or his thoughts on the movie.
He may have since, but if he did, I didn't see it.
No cus Sal could say "Last Jedi was definitely a movie" and either way people would freak
Great choice guys!
Loved this week's back issues, hilarious stuff. I hope there is a cyborg calamari character in solo, just so that he can fall on his face in his scene. I hope you guys eventually do Gillen's Vader run, I think it'd be a lot of fun to watch.

I don't want to come off as one of those assholes on the internet, I'm just wondering what made that decision occur is all.
This is so funny.
Hell yes! Love this crossover! I have the first issue on my wall! Hoping Kieron Gillen can sign it soon lol
I do love Vader Down, I gotta say
You should review marvels 5 ronin
DarthSquad
Vader--(Luke(not Kenobi))
Aphra--(Han)
BT--(R2)
Triple0--(3PO)
Sainti--(Chewy)
Leia's open
So this is actually secretly a Star Wars/Star Trek crossover event, in the fact that they're just ripping off the plot of "Mirror Mirror." XD
Question: Is a degree in archaeology recognized on a different world than the one you earned it on? Does anyone check your archaeology credentials when landing on said new world? Is there a galactic licensing board that sets training standards?
That look of defeat on all your faces as you mention Crystal Sk.... that one bad movie in the franchise.
I thought today was gonna be The Cult! Damn it! Oh well. Vader is still cool.
Paging poppa Palpatine...hmm he didn't pick up. I guess you will have to just run the board Vadder.
If you think about it wouldn't Vader be the opposite of Luke?
I get it... Doctor Aphra and her team are from Universe 1, and Han Solo and his team are from Universe A.
Tag and Bink actually didn't make it into the final cut of SW:SOLO.
58:28 you mean elevator 😉
