Even if the pats pick fell to 2 or 3, that’s still the best non QB in the draft with everyone who needs QB’s jumping up. Who did we get the last time we picked 2? Oh ya Nick Bosa, can u imagine getting another top flight blue chip player like that? What about a future pro bowl LT who will start for us for the next 10 years after Trent retires. Absolutely I’m taking that trade too. You could even trade back to pick 10 or 15 and get 2 more extra 1st from a QB needy team who will be starting a rookie QB. That 1 pick could turn into 3 top 10 picks. Look at what Miami did with trading back with the niners when we took Lance.
Get Connor Williams and trade Aiyuk for Tristan Wirfs.
Tampa isn't trading Wirfs.

Larry your whole argument is debased by the fact that the Pats would NEVER MAKE THIS TRADE.
Larry your right BA got 1 less on a lot less targets but you’re unfairly leaving out 1 huge reason for that. Hill and Lamb did it being their teams number 1 option and BA did it being the 3rd or 4th option. Big big difference between being the guy the defensive is mostly focused on and being the guy who benefits from the defensive being focused on other guys on your team. I like BA but that’s not fair stat.
If the Niners did end up with the Pats' 1st-round pick, and it was a top-3 pick, they could also trade down from #2 and fleece a QB-needy team. Imagine the haul they'd receive from a team like the Raiders if the Raiders moved up from the #10-15 pick to #2. It would be like what the Niners gave the Dolphins to move up and get Lance. Multiple 1sts .

No one is trading a 1st and a 3rd for Aiyuk AND paying him $30M+ … they literally tried to shop him for a first a couple months ago.. no one was willing to pay that much.. maybe if he was locked into a good deal for a few years, but paying that much to pay a WR top 5 WR’s money? No way

This is not actually on the table. It's a made up scenario. The Pats are not trading their first round pick for Brandon Aiyuk's expiring, one year contract. Makes absolutely no sense
That Pat’s #1 could potentially make up for the Lance trade in terms of recouping the pick’s.

Aiyuk was also drafted in what was called "The Year of the Receiver" which were not likely to see That many Ever Again. (Hollywood Brown - Ceedee Lamb- DK Metcalf - Jerry Juedy- AJ Brown D. Johnson AIYUK! I mean C'MON MAN....That's just off top of head)
AJ was drafted a year before, with Deebo, DK and Terry. Neither of them picked in the first round.
2020 also got Tee Higgins.
2021 got Chase, Devonta, Waddle.
This year WR class looks pretty loaded as well.
Reality is the league will have an abundance of WR, every kid wants to play receiver now. Hopefully the market eventually crashes.
