I have a 310 and struggled with opposite issue you seem to have. Was difficult getting on plane and to get the bow to come down no matter the trim setting. Ended up putting 60 lbs of ball bearing ballast in the front locker storage compartment and adding a hydrofoil. With the ballast up front, hydrofoil and motor fully trimmed down it's now a dream to ride..... dry, planes easily and handle's a swelling sea like a true champ. Love my Whaly but they seem to take a bit of trial and error before they work as desired
@@Deep_Down_Productions I would agree that there are some design shortcomings. Feels like they are almost amazing but missing a few design touches that would really make them fantastic. Perhaps an eventual version 2.0 will sort out their little issues.
Gday again from Oz If you are traveling above 20knots with that shot over your transom...you still cant see your permatrim... it should be on top of the water... I reckon the motor might have to come up another 20 to 30mm. I have lifted mine to 70mm above the transom. I think the permatrim is working like hell to lift the outboard to the surface and pushing the nose down... maybe you could jack it up a bit more with a timber packer for a trial....tie a safety line on your outboard.. Greg B
I am running a Suzuki DF 30 with electric trim on my Whaly 435. The electric trim makes a big difference in finding the sweet spot for a dry ride. Occasionally I will still get some spray from a big wave, but nothing close to what you are getting. It looks like most of your spray is coming out from the bow.. When I'm running mine trimmed out, most of the spray is coming out from the middle of the boat and doesn't spray back into the boat.
Yeah I wish I had spent that extra coin on getting the electric trim option now, would of saved me all this hassle. Seen your videos and yeah you have your Whaly setup really well.
Been following your channel for a while. Seems to be a wealth of knowledge from the community on your boat set up. I am chasing all the similar problems I have the same motor but electric trim on a f14 frewza. I am about to fit a permatrim to help getting on the plane. Cavitation plate is 25 mm from hull plane so don’t think I am too far off height but more than 3/4 throttle the power trim won’t work cause of load can hear the hydraulics like when putting motor down on tilt motor support. I can’t find any where why I am having this problem if any one else has had this or know why? Anything below 1/2 throttle trim works fine. Cheers

I own a Whaly 370 too, but i run it with a 15hp Yamaha Enduro outboard, didn't know that Yamaha was manufacturing the 4 stroke pulling start up to 25HP...It willl be a good option changing the Yamaha 15 2stroke for a 25 four stroke, considering that battery won't be needed with the 25hp...your comment please...
Love the Yamaha F25 combo with the 370, HEAPS of power and uses next to no fuel due to the fuel injection. If I had to do it again I'd buy the electric trim model instead of the manual model so you can lift the bow at top end speed with the trim of the outboard.
Great video. I find that the only way to get a somewhat dry ride is to trim the engine up to push the bow up. Even then it's still a wet ride. At least for me.
Gday from Oz I have a new 370 with a 20hp elec tilt start etc. Have the engine 50mm up off transom. Getting 40+ kph Had to put fuel and battery forward and put SE200 foil on to get the nose down and stop porpoising. What speed are you running at in this video? Just wondering if that strange hook in the keel (just below the threaded bung) is pushing it over at high speed Greg B
Possibly the Permatrim is doing to good a job at that speed....Maybe talk to Permatrim..they may not have designed it for your sort of speed. (Could shorten it?)
Greg you little beauty! I was pushing 26-27knots but I think I should of adjusted the outboard trim as it was setup for two people, realised that once I got home 🤦🏻♂️. You have any footage of your Whaly in action?
@@Deep_Down_Productions Gday again, No video yet...just got it going and roughly sorted... I have been watching your videos and learnt a lot from them so thanks for that.. 27knots 50kph with the nose down...did it feel at all unstable ie bow steering? Should do 30knots with the nose up a touch 🤓👍
@@flikstik3388 Outboard is manual trim so hard to trim the bow up on the move. Only issue I have with the bow down at full speed is the water spraying over the top and soaking me lmao. These aren't a dry boat as I'm sure you'll find out.
I sure do, New Zealand weather this season has been absolutely atrocious, so haven't been getting out much. When the weather clears more videos will be coming out!

Sweet, sounds like you’ve mastered it.
