First, open a creative world for yourself. Place all the blocks exist in minecraft to the floor one by one. Then get familiarized with the blocks. Try to learn redstone systems. Then go to Google and search for buildings from real life that you want to build. Then make some practices by imitating those real buildings from time to time for some months. Optionally, you can use some mods to build fast to not get bored while building big structures. After some months, try to make your own ideas. You don't have to wait for months for trying your own ideas, you can do it while educating yourself ofcourse. After some months, people will think you are a genius when they see you while you are building them in your hardcore world, your own ideas! This is how it works for me so.
