You should definitely watch more BrewStew! Sure, he's far from family-friendly, but he's a good watch 900% of the time! He has a ton of wacky and silly medical episodes! I would love to see him brought up on this channel again!
I love BREWSTEW and his honest depiction of things. Especially things from his childhood. Because as kid, i feel the puff of air is extremally accurate. As an adult, its just plain annoying LOL
That's why I love his childhood videos the most because he's saying exactly what you would see through your own eyes is a child. And all the thoughts that would go through your mind exaggerations. The assholery😂
Love this. After working in a hospital for years, I love that I can see an honest reaction to my favorite channel, while learning something new in the process. Thanks!!!

As someone with epilepsy, I can confirm that's how it feels having a seizure. And the quote, "I didn't even get to have the fun one, you know, where you're flopping around like a fish?" was hilarious.
Keep the brewstew content coming doc. All of his content consists of his life experiences and it’s awesome to see a doc react to the patients perspective.
Pfft 🤣🤣🤣 YAS! I freaking love Brewstew. Same as my mom, my dad has started & he likes it. My brother introduced it to us & we can't get enough of it. It's way too funny.
The strobe light in the eyes is totally real. My mom had it done after her seizure. I remember it well since the nurse wiring the electrodes to her head was a Romanian lady telling me how great of a man Dracula was. LOL
I was told by a previous girlfriend of mine who suffered PNES seizures should not call 911 for seizures because there's generally nothing that a paramedic can do about it. I was just told you should just let it run its course and there's no need to call 911 because they can't do anything extra other than just letting the seizure happen
It highly depends on the circumstances. For PNES yeah not much can be done however if someone doesn’t have a seizure disorder and has a seizure 1000% call 911.
YES!!! I’ve been waiting for a doctor to react to the MRI one! 🤣🤣🤣 as someone who goes into an MRI machine yearly it WAS HILARIOUS! 🤣 especially when he was describing what it sounds like! 🤣
5:13 I have epilepsy and when they gave me an EEG they actually did use some sort of adhesive to attach them to my head. This was also in 2016 so things may have changed since then but I know I started convulsing after being placed under the strobe light and they were having difficulty reattaching the nodes due to the shaking. With the adhesive in my hair mixed with my shaking I had a sort of frizzy spiky hairdo by the time the whole thing was done.
Yo, I have epilepsy too and it threw me off too when he said they use a cap. Like I’ve been having EEG’s for about 8 years or so and my last one was just a day ago where it was glued to my head.
2:10. When you mentioned that you get patients who yell at you it reminded me of a story about when my dad had a quadruple bypass. He was so gorked out on the pain medication and I'm assuming everything else that it made him extremely paranoid so he was kinda mean to a particular nurse. He was absolutely convinced for 3 or 4 days that this nurse was poisoning his water. He actually made my sister pour water into a Ziploc bag, CSI style, and told her to get it tested and save some in the freezer. After they reduce his medication, he completely denied he ever said any such thing, until all of us independently confirmed it. She was such a professional and my Dad later apologized. She appreciated it, since more people don't bother to apologize out of either embarrassment, not remember, or actually being a jerk. We laughed about it now.
As a person with epilepsy I have had EEGs where they put flashing lights in front of you but they have you laying down on a bed and have you close your eyes. They put the flashing light at different speeds and they can change the brightness of the light. Now I have never been photosensitive so I don't know why they tested it on me.
There is a driving response seen in the posterior electrodes, importantly over the occipital and parietal locations. Asynchronous responses can indicate different issues. These responses are measured with different frequencies of flashes and rarely have a seizure response. There is actually very few epilepsy patients that are photo sensitive, something like 5%.
