- After 100 hours of real-life use, is the iPhone 15 Pro worth the upgrade? In this review, I go over my dislikes, likes, and everything new with the iPhone 15 Pro. Great review! Could you do a ProRAW comparison to HEIF/JPEG like you did last year with the 14 Pro? That was a great video, to see how the ProRAW maintained the subtle lighting. I wonder if the processing for HEIF/JPEG has improved this year.

We’ve reached the end of the line as far as smartphone innovation. It’s over, the only thing you can expect is evolution; better camera, better battery life, faster charging etc. It’s not a knock on Apple, they’ve led the way for the past 15 years but TV, smartphones, tablets, smartwatches and laptops have all reached the end of the innovation line years ago.
Software and hardware changes coming with AI - someone gonna release an AI chip phone and theyre gonna sell a lot.. steve jobs has left apple so theyre not gonna be the company to do it necessarily..
The innovation coming out of the recent Meta Connect event has been interesting
I heard that when they came out with the first iPhone.
I think the same but I was thinking about it and I guess they improve:
Tele 2x zoom with 100% quality
Moon photography
Pro camera with options
Better Dolby Atmos
Better colors on display
Periscope lens with 10x
Action mode in 4k
No noises in portrait mode like xiaomi ultra have
But besides them there is a wall called limit. The evolution will be simple:
Fold budget smartphones will replace mid phones and flagships fold relace flagships smartphones.
It was the same 15 years ago. Then people said "touchscreen smartphones? No wat?" And what happened? They became popular

Thank you for sharing a fair and detailed review, it has really helped with my buying decision. Like others have said it has become challenging to innovate every year but maybe the torch will have to be passed onto other brands or branches of tech like vr, ar and ai?

I’ve had it only a day and I put on a thick but quality screen protector and don’t want to put a case on it because it feels so good. Coming from a 13 - very happy.

Had the 12 pro max. Great phone. The weight & size was getting to me. I was happy to see them lighter this year. The max was only 7 grams lighter than my 12pm. Got the 15pro. Love it

5x Zoom has some advantages over the 10x Samsung lens: it can do portrait mode, whereas the (much too long anyway) 10x Zoom in the Samsung cannot. Which is why - apparently - Samsung will switch back to 5x in their next one. I personally even think 5x Zoom is too long for portraits 120mm inside requires to go back considerably in order to get a head and shouldlers portrait, whereas a 77mm 3x zoom is more practical.
Looking forward to getting my Natural 15 Pro, in the meantime I'm on the first SE. Fingers crossed, the 15 pro will comme soon. Thanks for your insight and shared experiences with the 15 Pro. Titanium

And I thought I was the only one not understanding or using the new action button. All these pro-Apple reviews say how in love they are with the action button but I don't find myself using it often. Am I using it wrong?

Being a photographer and mountain biker the new action button is a fantastic addition. I can now pull out my phone and before I have it up to compose my shot it’s on and ready to go and all without having to remove my gloves. I hope now they implement the volume buttons as zoom buttons as that would be brilliant. I disagree with battery life as I easily get a full days usage with about four hours screen time, a few hours with earphones in and a few pictures and I’m on about 50% battery remaining at the end of the day witch I think is excellent. So overall I think this has been a great upgrade for me with usb-c and the lovely titanium finish it’s been money well spent 👍
Titanium. Thanks for a good review! I have the 14 pro I mainly love the new silver “natural titanium” because I’d love to stay caseless and enjoy the color. Would also like the new usb-c. Hut not sure if i will upgrade yet.
Nice review. Went from 12MAX to 15MAX and noticed the performance differences right away. However, we're at peak iPhone for sure. Would like to see the inclusion of a fourth camera on the back in future versions. .5X, 1X, 3X and 5X would be perfect for a phone based system. Subscribed! TITANIUM

I completely agree with the action button problem. Its a single function button and kind of defeats the purpose of replacing the toggle switch. I really do hope apple gives the action button 3 use cases.

It’s crazy to think that the power button has more functionality than the new action button.
The power button can bring up Siri with a long press. Brings up Apple Pay with a double tap and then locks and opens the phone with a single press.
The fact that Apple didn’t even bother implementing the same functionality into their new gimmick is surprising.

Have you gone case less on the Blue T? not sure how the durability will be.

Hey! Have you Also experienced any touch issues Wit your iPhone 15 PRO? I have screen protector on and it doesnt register every press sometimes I have to press 2-3 times. Is this a software related problem or what? Without my screen protector on it registers every press perfectly.

Blue Titanium all the way! Natural basically a duller version of a silver iPhone. Blue has so many more interesting hues in different lights.
Did you see them in person? lol the blue is too dark,natural is way nicer
@@josephpepe2607 My wife got the 15 Pro Natural Titanium which is amazing as well. It was a tough choice between the Natural and the Blue as they are both stellar. Ultimately, it boils down to personal taste.
At 08:07, you mentioned that the back glass, which is more easily and affordably replaced, is exclusive to the Pro model. However, I checked Apple's website, and it appears that the regular 15 models also have a lower cost for fixing the back glass.
The standard model phones got the new replaceable back glass last year with the iPhone 14
Had mine for 2 weeks. “Incremental” is relative. This is more than incremental for those owning the iPhone 12 and earlier models.
One of the things that got me buying a 15 pro over the 14 pro was the USB-C function... I am very surprised 😮 that Apple did NOT lock down the port and we are able to plug almost everything that uses USB-C (like monitors, external hard drives, etc...) into the phone with functionality

the battery life throughout the day depends on how you use it. when my iphone 12 pro max was new, i could powerhouse it and get all day from the battery or lightly use it and get 2-3 days ish from it. im looking forward to getting the 15 pro max in the blue titanium color. with the research ive did and the settings ive changed...ill have to see how long i can get from a single charge. i dont game on my phones, mainly i listen to music, surf through social media, and watch a lot of youtube...so like i said, the battery life throughout the day has to do with how you use it and some settings can help with making the battery last longer.

@@gallaghergrl97 yes, one is the dark theme for iphone, it cuts down on the battery usage to display the colors.
another i use is dark wallpapers for the same reason.
the biggest one ive found is reduce white point, this one cuts down on the overall brightness of the phone making your phone run cooler and helps your battery last longer.
ive heard that turning off the 120Hz display refresh rate helps improve battery life too, but my 12 pro max doesnt have that option. ill look into that once i get my 15 pro max.

No, the 14 pro is heavy and the form factor makes it uncomfortable to hold without a case. I recently upgraded from 14 pro to 15 pro and it's lighter and much more comfortable to hold. I don't use a case as I buy AppleCare.

the 15 pro is the first iphone I feel I can move to from a years' old android without it feeling like a downgrade. Those 14 pro bezels are basically retro after waterfall edges

I ordered mine 15 pro in titanium blu. I want to use it at least 4 years. I hope apple will fix it from the heat problem because heat will reduces the durability of the phone
Make sure you update to latest iOS 17 (public release) update as it's been fixed.
At first I wanted to buy the natural titanium until I went to the Apple store and there, I saw it in person, very disappointed, plain, too plain. That's where I saw blue with its shades of color. So beautiful, really ! so I chose it.

You're wrong about the focal lengths. They use data from the larger sensor.
Should i upgrade if i have a 12 pro max?
My 15 pro has never been too hot to hold but ALWAYS after abut 3-4 minutes of using it (mostly instagram, whatsapp, safari, texts) it gets sort of warm or even hot sometimes, like when I'm recording. Still it was never so hot that I would not be able to hold it. I have the latest ios update. The only time the phone is at room temp is when I'm not using it, is this normal? My last iphone was a 12 mini which never ever got hot apart from when it was charging so I'm not sure what's the normal.

The zoom could have been better on the new iPhone 15 Pro Max. And I think Apple is deliberately holding back more zoom for its upcoming 16 Ultra.

9:04 There is no stainless steel chassis. Also, titanium is not “covering” anything-rather it’s a piece of Grade 5 Titanium frame that’s been bonded to the aluminum mid-plate.

Should I get the 128 gb or 256 gb version? I pretend to upgrade from my 12 for one 15 pro but I am quite in doubt in what storage to choose. Nowadays I use 70 gb of my iphone 12 but as I pretend to stay with my new phone for at least 3 years I am in doubt if is worthy spend $100 more to get the 256 gb version
It is. If you are getting the pro especially if you will be taking pro photos
128gb variants also have some limitations in camera features, like there’s no 4k prores, they stuck with 1080p.

I am disappointed in the small weight reduction, that the 15 pro is less durable and the slightly curved sides are only relevant without a case.

I upgraded from a 12 Pro max. Its a great phone but overall the 12 Pro max is still a very capable phone. Im enjoying the better battery life and better screen outdoor performance. I don’t need to take my Sunglasses off anymore to see the screen ☀️📱

Yeah the smartphones are really at their limit in terms of innovation. We barely don't get anything really new. It's mainly just camera upgrades, some more RAM and a new chip, who barely gives a huge boost performance. This year we get a new button and a new material in titanium. But that wasnt something to brag about in the past. Says enough that they are marketing that. However it is also saying that upgrading every year isnt worth it.
The area that back cameras are taking is huge.

Hey Apple, if you are here, hear me out. How about creating an eco profile, in which the processor of iPhone 15 pro is going to be underclocked, making it still as powerful as previous iPhone, but with higher power efficiency, thus having better battery life and make it cooler. When battery life is not a concern, users can activate a boosted profile to use the maximum performance. This profile can be activated using the action button or linked to focus mode. This is not like low energy mode, as that mode is too much. This should only affect the performance and not everything else (screen refresh rate, background process etc). If you like the idea, I can accept iphone 16 pro as the commission lol

It just makes no sense to me why they would opotimize the 3 nanometer for performance over battery life. Most people who buy iphones are not buying them to play games thats a small demographic. It just feels like such wasted potential. They should have made a setting where you can choose between optimizing for performance or efficiency with the 3 nanometer. God its just such wasted potential.

I upgraded from the 14 Pro, but I feel the 15 Pro is not significantly better. I’ll wait three or four years before I upgrade again. iPhones upgrades are too hyped up.

I don't think Innovation is stagnant... Greater battery life, getting rid of the huge hole punch, equivalent quality of front camera to rear are a few areas of improvement. The R&D cost required is high in today's market and does not guarantee you a high return. But this a multi billion dollar company so i think profit margins and greed plays a part.
After watching the video, it just shows that upgrading every year doesn't really give that much benefit (in my opinion).

Good video, few things wrong or possibly miss spoke like saying titanium connected to stainless chassis which is actually aluminum, and the regular iphone 14 model recieved chassis remodel last year to have easier cheaper replaceable back and now they did it to 15 pro models but breaks easier

The 15 Pro Max's 5x zoom camera is a letdown honestly. If you only use 2 or 3x zoom the 14 Pro and Pro Max have actually better image quality.
