This is a great project - I applaud the skill and execution of it. I'm amazed you didn't shred your hands to bits with the sharp metal, so you must be a master at working with it! Furthermore, not even a hint of hot glue - that alone made the video worth watching. This project definitely goes above and beyond the ordinary.
Wow, I learned something completely new from this. And it is just what I need for a project that I have in mind. Thanks.
Some questions:
- How critical is the profile shape of the "beads" - you seem to make them individually by hand so I guess not very much, but if I were to CNC them, is there a particular shape I should be aiming for ?
- Why do you insert nuts into the ends of the "beads" - is that simply a makeshift bearing ?
- Why do you epoxy the bead axles in place ? I would have thought a nut would be easier, so maybe there is something i'm missing.
