With game streaming from Twitch, UA-cam gaming, and Mixer taking off and work from home, distance learning, zoom, microsoft teams, discord video calling, and google hangouts increasing in usage due to the current situation in the world, there has been an a problem with good USB webcams, capture cards, and cameras being able to stay in stock. And if they do manage to stay in stock, their prices get inflated, gouged, or are just more expensive than they use to be. While our previous video on using a phone as webcam only focused on its use with OBS Studio and the NDI plugin, this time we look at iVcam and how it can be used for ANY of the above mentioned services. This proves to be a simple solution for anyone with a windows computer and a cell phone/mobile phone, especially if you have a spare one you can use. This is compatible with any android phone or tablet, or apple iphone or ios device like an ipad too.

I like your attitude towards teaching tech. In this case you take the time to show us what you are pushing and pressing as far as settings, links and downloads. Then you also explained the settings to us in a way that you did not come across like you were "Mr. Know It All" and I like that because I am considered a person who knows a lot about tech in my family, and they rely on me for good information but, seriously man tech move's at lightning speed and I can't always stay caught up so, I hate these UA-camrs that seem to talk down to you while titling their videos "For Beginners" then they instruct you through the video as if you should all ready know what they are doing. So, Thank You and know that you are helping many of us get through a very unstable time in the world. Honestly, I don't know that even if webcam prices come down that I will buy one after learning this technique. Also, I liked the 720 version better than the 1080 IMO.
why does this guy only have less than 20k subs? I feel like hes a good guy
his channel will definitely be growing fast. I like this sharing.
He is a great guy
indeed, he got a new subscriber here tho :)
Perfect timing for this topic! Ty!
Found this software a few weeks ago, great software. Fantastic video guide. Still using your recommendations for OBS NDI

Thank you! I'm a teacher looking at using a hybrid model to teach my classes this year with some students at school and some online, so this video is really helpful. Especially good because our wired Internet is great, but our Wifi is spotty. Thanks for sharing!
Best of luck this next school year! I actually work in IT support at a school district and we just got news we will be going full online distance learning for the next school year!
It lags during online teaching moreover audio and video are not synch
Thank you Chris, this is very helpful new subbie here.

Sorry i am late, but this looks pretty good. I really like it. Awesome video
Great video demo, more interested in the sound latency if I am using alternative powered sound through audio interface.
That's how I demonstrated it fyi
Thanks! Very helpful!
Very useful, thanks.
Glad I never sent in my Note8 trade-in lol. Such a great video. Thanks!
Thank you. It's helpful.
This guy: You know it's a really good idea to use your phone as a webcam.
Us: *agrees*
FBI: yes plz but we do this all the time anyways
Thanks! I might have to use this method for when I teach this semester. Will have students in class and students logging in via google meet. But of course we have no direction on how to make it work. I'm hoping this does!

thank you ... works like a charm...
Perfect timing now that there are literally no decent webcams available to buy for market price
Thank you very much super helpful cheers!
Thank you very much, now I can use zoom with camera.
Dam your back with a usefull video.I been using iv cam for streaming. I use usb connected and I cant notice any lag or delay. I also have a rtx voice for gtx card update. The application work good if your not streaming. But when you start streaming rtx voice straight up lag and unusable.
Yeah rtx voice on non-RTX cards can be hit or miss.
Thanks 😊. We are WHF, me and my wife. Schools gonna open regardless. So need a good camera. Problem is, PC stores limited due to lockdown.
This is very useful
thank you so much for this video :)
Great on M1A1, thanks!
Great life saver!
Give this man more Subs
i need this! thank you!
edit: upon testing, i can't my connect my PC with my android phone. googled it and found out that i have to enable/allow USB debugging on my phone.
all is fine now! :)
its 2023 and it works thnk you so much
I just started steaming again so thank you so much for this
Thank you so much!
Thank you sir🔥
Thank you very much!!
Nice tutorial ! Sometime we like to do some real time processing (e.g. cutomized filter) on live streaming, so I was wondering if there is a plugin in OBS (allow us to process video from smarphone ?)
im sure there is. Just apply it to the video source after adding it in OBS.
Since a mid tier smartphone these days can last you 2-3 years until you change it. Its a nice use, the only complain i see is the heat dissipation of the phone since some of them get very hot using the cameras.
Thank you !!
I’m using it, the free downgrades to 480p 16fps after. Also the settings keep resetting, but still cheap 15$ webcam use after finding my old phone and a case. I’ll be making a video soon on this.
Thanks alot man
very useful
Good content, man! I am just wondering how you brought the latency down to almost unnoticeable?
Put phone on 5ghz ac wifi
My man getting haunted 4:59
Thank you 🙏
time to buy a slightly older phone for a massive discount and use it as a webcam go people go lol. Everyone remember to sub. leave a comment and turn on that notification bell it helps chris a lot and dont forget to follow him over at twitch.tv/coalitiongamingcrew he stream every friday at 8pm pdt we have tons of fun talking about all kinds of stuff including tech
Huge drain on the battery. This isn't worth it.
It lags for online teaching or lecture recording
hi, MrRyudragon is the only benefit of using this over the NDI method that you don't need OBS? are there any other benefits or drawbacks?
thx so much my laptop webcam wasnt working now i can use this app
Thanks bro! I don't need to buy webcam to stream :D
Wish you more subs :)
Thank you kind sir
He's like a chil, techy Billy Mays
YES FINALLY
thank you so much
Awesome video man!
Are there any other options that don't have a watermark?
Thank you!
You could just buy this one (it's not expensive) to remove the watermark, or crop it out like I showed.
So if you wanna save the video , where would it be saved? On the pc or phone? .. great content btw 👍🏿
Assuming you mean recording in OBS since I showed this in conjunction with OBS, it'll save to the videos folder by default or wherever you may have changed the default save path for videos
omg!!! awesome!!!
Please how can I get this stream set-up?? I love it
Thanks for directing me to this vid, much appreciated, the only down fall is i can't add a secondary camera(phone) to it to use within OBS...
Ah didnt know ivcam was limited to one connected device per computer. The NDI phone method should help solve that. If you're having issues with OBS NDI, its likely firewall related or the phone isnt on 5ghz AC wifi for best results. We have a FAQ video on NDI. Good amount of things that can be tried to get it working easily.
@@CoalitionGaming Thanks so much for your continuous response, you def have a new subscriber
I checked the boxes in the firewall
i allowed media streaming
i disabled every other network adapter except the local connection
i disabled ipV6
i made sure my display color is not RGB
i have uninstalled and reinstalled
i have literally tried anything and everything i can find
Yet i still get the same result, black screen with the little red dot on the top left and even when i fit to screen it still gives a black screen
Funny thing is it was working perfectly fine until my PC crashed few days ago and had to reinstall everything
Make sure the network connections on both computers are set to Private as well then double check the windows firewall exceptions
@@CoalitionGamingI only have one PC and its for Streaming live DJ sets, I actually found on e2esoft that you can add two devices on the same PC at the same instance, just playing around with it now getting it figured out
Im glad that i have old phone to use to be webcam lol
We like it alot
very good
This is awesome tutorial.
I want to stream my dj sets on twitch does the audio from mixer need to go thru the phone?
Needs to go thru the computer into OBS
@@CoalitionGaming ok thanks Im gonna try that..
Clutch.
Nice video, thanks. Do you know of an app that also has control over the phone camera zoom setting?
Thanks. Not sure
