A brief tour of Rockin' Robin Guitars and Music store in Houston, Texas. Not fancy, but a good overview of what our store looks like, inventory, and how it functions. Enjoy!
Love this place! A piece of Houston history! Bought my first electric guitar there back in the seventies. Also bought a Fender Strat (American Standard) there in 1990 which I still have! Saw Laurence Juber there many moons ago...bought his CD he was promoting at the time.."Solo Flight". Had not been there in awhile since I live in the suburbs now. Need to go back and pay a visit! Lots of good memories!
This place is awesome. It's huge! And the surfboards are a nice touch. Yes, we surf here. Best wake surfing in the US, but not that much regular surfing unless there's a hurricane.
I bought my first decent electric at Rockin' Robin in the seventies! I was 14 at the time and I found a second hand Gibson SG hanging on the wall! I only had so much on me but my dad covered the difference and I'll never forget that! I loved that guitar! Later on...I think it was in 1990..I bought a beautiful cream colored Fender American Standard Strat there which I still have to this day! It's older than my kids! I took lessons there at some point in the eighties as well...so it's so cool seeing this video! Many memories! I love the "Collings room"! For anyone who is into guitars you have to see this place! The best guitar shop in Houston bar none!
I traded a 1980 Dean elite w/ case for a robin medley standard that I went to robin factory and picked tobacco burst body and they put a flame maple neck on it,back in 95 Or so.never regretted it.it smokes, and is very light.dean was as heavy as a piano.sittin hear next to me.bout vintage itself already.i was hoping I would see that Dean in vintage dept.
