Weather isn’t climate and regional isn’t global so while yes this heat spike wasn’t solely caused by anthropogenic global warming, it made it much more likely to occur. Probability matters. Not to mention 4 of the 9 hottest Septembers on record in NYC have occurred since 2005 and Septembers have warmed roughly 3°F since 1970 in NYC.
