Learning Why Miata is Always the Answer at Autocross

  • John was kind enough to offer me a chance to autocross his Miata, and of course I said yes. The car was a blast to drive on the roads, so it could only be more fun in an empty parking lot. He was a great instructor through the whole thing, showing me there's no reason to feel intimidated. You only learn by doing, so if you have the chance, autocross your car to learn what it can do.

    That red mustang mid video... doing mustang things, hahaha. Nice Video! This truly shows the experience of someone's first autocross event. Introducing car people to autoX is a great experience for all involved.

    By the way, figured out that check engine light. The O2 was fine, where it was placed wasn't. Gotta put it after the catalytic in order to have it recognize the catalytic converter is installed. (derp...)

    Your videos have been plaayed over 650k times, you probably don't do this for a living (more like fun), but a little more consistency with the uploads might get you more subscribers and some buck. Keep it up!

    • @Altek1

      I'm happy with the overall views I've had on my channel, but when you consider the fact that only about 8300 people subscribed, those figures seem less impressive. I do this just for fun, but boy would I love it to be a full time thing, fingers crossed for the future. I'd like to be more consistent with uploads but the types of videos I put together make that tricky. Open to ideas if you got any!

      @@Altek1 well I'd suggest having a separate social media account for the channel. I'm sure that would drive some traffic to your UA-cam channel and would create a stronger bond between subscriber/creator. That way, even if you don't upload content that often to UA-cam, at least people get to know what you're up to. Plus, if you have a social media account, say Instagram for example, you could upload quick short 15-30 seconds of old videos that can drive traffic to youtube generating potential new subscribers.

      and I say separate because I know you have your personal Instagram account, I do follow you there. But it's a combination of personal and youtube, which to the eyes of the subscriber may be a bit confusing. BTW, 650k views is a lot for a 8k+ channel, most channels with that amount of subscribers don't even equal their 8000 subscribers in views. Your content is A+, I think, in my humble opinion, that you just need to promote your channel a little more, reach more audience.

      The stigma about the car is real. If you knock it, you probably haven't driven it, but yes, it can mostly fit in the back of a moderately sized pickup truck 😁

      @johntwyghyde9712 3 роки тому +1

      Dude, I considerably save on trailer registration, insurance and costs by folding it into my purse and putting it in a 3/4 bed of a pickup. I have lots of pics of this (pre lowered and post). It's a full defensive driving experience in this car since large SUVs and trucks literally cannot see me.

      Btw, I agree that Miatas are some of the best track cars to learn on and to use in general. I’ve driven one up at Lime Rock Park on the main track and on the auto cross and they are amazing “momentum cars” to learn how to properly handle the track.
