- We have some devastating news to share. For the past two weeks Rosie has been ill. It came on so fast and so suddenly that we are shocked. She has been absolutely fine up until about two weeks ago. She even had her nails trimmed not long ago, you might remember. Tomorrow, we will be letting Rosie go and will have an autopsy done. Susan believes she has cancer. Rosie is 27 years old, and yes that is old for a bear, but we are still shocked and grief stricken. (This video of her and Randy was filmed in late February.)

My heart breaks reading this news. Rosie is such a beautiful and well loved bear. I wish I could give every bear and human at the OWC a giant hug on this sad day. Thank you to Susan & Jim for giving Rosie such a happy life. My heart is with you at this very difficult time ❤️🐻🌈 Love you Rosie!🌹

She had a good life, we know that Kodiak bears don't have it easy. She was loved, and it's very human to not let her suffer. 💔

I could not have awoken to worse news. I am so very sorry. She had wonderful, beautiful life because of Susan, Jim, and everyone at OWC. There are not words that can fill the hole left by her passing.
It feels like we literally just recovered from saying good-bye to Frankie. 😢

OHH DEAR LORD ....😢 I am reaasured becuz of your two's commitment to these beautiful animals. She lived an extraordinary life!!! And I thank Jesus Christ 🙏 for your foundation. I don't know how you feel. Howevrs, I know what it feels like. In 2019 we buried my 12lbs cat Sydney. I had him for 15yrs. His neighborhood buddy still comes over and sleeps where we buried him. RIP Jimbo, Maddy, Judy, Frankie, and now Rosie. I started crying reading this. I honestly haven't even gotten over Frankie passing last summer yet and now Rosie too. She reminded me so much of Jimbo like they could have been siblings. I loved all these adorable teddy bears. I will tell you that every video I've seen with them they really look so happy like they were smiling. The Orphaned Wildlife Center was such a wonderful place for them to live where they did not ever have to worry about predators, hunters, or foraging for food. They were loved and cared for by their Daddy Jim and Mommy Susan. I will miss these big teddy bear babies, but i know they are with the Lord now. Rest in heaven teddy bears🧸🧸🧸🧸🧸🧸❤❤❤❤
