I am from Lithuania, but when I studied in Bulgaria I listened Irfan in Plovdiv, at Nebet Tepe, in the night, and it is one of the most powerful impression from all music which I heard during my life! And now Irfan is one of my most beloved ensembles, near Isihija, Кайно Яасно Слънце, Bulgarka and etc. Bulgaria have so much good musicians and ensembles! You just have so so rich traditional music heritage, and I am fascinated by this. Най добре пожелания от Литва ❤️
I follow Irfan since their debut. It is my favourite band. It is the incarnation of beauty, nature. It is true art, true music. And it is NOT a copy of Dead Can Dance. Irfan goes farther, it is beyond words. Thanks for being. I am waiting for the next album.
I'm discovering the band, so far seems nice. Don't compare them to DCD please. I find them different, and trust me, Dead Can Dance can give you visions while you listen to them.. they are nowhere less than Irfan. They are just different.
Simply listen to Host Of Seraphim, just to mention, or Ariadne \ Return of the She-King. DCD is heavenly. But you can't compare them so much with Irfan, the sound is pretty much different, I think Irfan borrows much more from balkan \ indian music than DCD. They are both great in their own ways.
Alexis BRETON Yes I do agree, mainly they come from different musical culture! I will not argue which is better, this a question of a personal taste! I can speak of Irfan only, as a Bulgarian! Their background is the ancient traditional Bulgarian music with more than 400000 written folklore songs, yet their style is not always traditional, for that I do prefer other traditional singers and groups. Though, some of the musician take part of another famous Bulgarian group called Isihia which more tradionally based!
From the first time I heard Irfan together with the voice of Denitza Seraphim I was shocked, I heard reminiscences of my beloved Lisa's voice but they are not the same, I love them in equal measure although I must confess that Irfan's music enters more deep in my soul especially with the album seraphim, it is transcendental music...

They are farther then DCD, this is music from heaven, nature and beauty....I have saw them in Holland for the first time and I love them.
