I think about this a lot but I think this game should have had more development time to include OG dragon ball. This way you could start out with running and the nimbus as your only means of transportation. And then by the time goku learns to fly in the series, that unlocks your ability to fly.
Dragon Ball Z Kakarot is the best game I've ever played. I'm so glad that this game changed my life and made me a Dragon Ball fan. If I didn't play this game, I would never discover this exiting world of Dragon Ball.
P.S: Most of people in my country probably don't know what Dragon Ball is, but for some reason Bandai Namco decided to make subtitles for my country anyway.
That’s great to hear! Dragon ball games on the PS2 were crucial to my life long fandom of the franchise so I’m glad to hear the modern games are doing the same thing for others!
Covering arcs of Kakarot in a video for each arc would be super interesting. Also, if you do cover the Namek saga one thing that I just couldn't get over was how the game lets the Ginyu force sort of die after you fight them with Goku instead of letting Vegeta kill them like the anime. Between that and the lack of a final flash or super trunks cinematic, it felt like they cut corners on iconic moments to streamline the story. I can kind of see why, but Toriyama's writing style has a lot of beloved moments that are ultimately not crucial for the plot to move forward so that's a lot of stuff to ignore.
They were definitely teasing that idea by including Kid Goku in the latest DLC. I'd like to think they wouldn't go out of their way to model him just for that one fight.
43:30 I remember Kami permanently removed Goku's tail at one point, like he cauterized it with an energy beam after it was yanked off. Before he did that, Goku's tail also regrew randomly for plot reasons in the middle of a fight too. Piccolo I guess plotwise never knew Goku's and Gohan's tails can regrow.
33:17 I dont know.. could have used the NFS:Most Wanted joke, but since Vegeta doesnt yell, maybe it wouldnt work Nappa: Everyone? Vegeta: EVERYONE!!!!!
Another wonderful video from a wonderful content creator. You are doing an amazing job. Great edits and comedy, great music, wonderful retrospwctive. You are super special awesome. Keep up the great work.
Oh gosh, i just LOVE dragon ball z kakarot. As someone whos favourite dragon ball game series was the legacy of goku and buu's fury, this game fullfilled all my needs for a dragon ball game
I live for these retrospectives on DBZ; Hidden. I actually have fell asleep watching them almost an hour in but that’s more than likely a combination of your warm and relaxing voice (with some great humour) and the fact I’ve been super exhausted over the last couple of days 😂 you’re awesome ❤️
Your style is just remarkable, dude. The dichotomy between your thorough, in-depth analysis delivered with such a cool even voice and your meme-edits just floors me lol. I adore it, insta-subbed.
I'm playing kakarot right now and immediately thought about your legacy of goku video when the game introduces you of the secondary quest and the first one is discover where the turtle hid muten's bikini magazine😂
5:38 im glad to finally see someone whos veiw isnt "filler=bad" imo the besy example of good filler is detective conan like 9/10 time the filler episodes are my favorites and the most memorable
Your review of the game is Excellent. It's currently still my favorite video game despite that the game isn't fully open world but am glad that most of the explorable areas are big enough to make look as though the game is fully open world. I got that game on launch day at my local Walmart store while in my Goku cosplay costume. For a game that's named after Goku's birth name' the game has us play as Gohan the most in the main story. The one being the narrator in this video review did a pretty good job and like it.
I mean that's kinda cause Gohan is the real protagonist of Z. I wish we got it to start a little bit into or maybe have you play bits and pieces of OG dragon ball to really let us play Goku's story from the begining
There's a lot to be desired with the combat in this game, but they 100% nailed the visuals and recreating moments with the game's animation. It was a good idea for you to split this up into videos covering each arc allowing you to dive deep, looking forward to the next one.
I feel like Kakarot has a lot of potential that you can build off of. But something tells me that the sequel, if there ever is one, will probably just be the same thing again like XV2
On That image training part you shouldve added Spongebob and Patrick in their box 📦 that was making all dat noise "........ARRRRRRg" ".......Beep" 😂😂😂😂
Great video Could you please do a video on the Super Gokuden games for the Super Famicon? There really isn't any youtube content on these games, and they are a very unique experience.
Naruto rise of ninja was like the closest thing we got so far but man I would lose it if we got bandai to give this kind of love and effort into a Naruto game where you get to play the full story with this amount of detail
A lot of the RPG bits just don't work well in this game or work well with the story of dragon ball. The combat and moving around the world felt awesome though and it's probably the best telling of the dragon ball story in video game format I've played. A really good game for fans of the franchise. I love your videos!
I don't know if anyone has asked before but could you review Dragon Ball Attack of the saiyans for Nintendo DS? Like you'r videos hope you keep making good content.
This game would have so much more replayability if the characters made more noises... Like everytime id fight as goku hed do the same "aaaahhh!!" Noise over and over and over I tried a second playthrough but this made me uninstall 😢
DBZ Kakarot is a great game but has many issues such that the cinematics aren't utilised to the full extent unlike budokai 1 which managed to tell more of the story in a shorter amount of battles, also the fighting mechanics of dbz Kakarot are very similar to Xenoverse 2 but more repetitive making the 3D style of gameplay better in the budokai tenkaichi games, however the game is a great run through the story of dbz in the game which is really fun my only gripe is they should've brought back the Z voice actors for the game as not only do they have more experience they also voiced the characters in Z since the game is called DBZ Kakarot and NOT dbz kai kakarot
24:00 I hate these Gohan's fury expressions, they are GARBAGE! THEY ALL VERY VERY BAD! RAditz headbutt, oozaru's scream transformation, SSJ2 transformation.. all very bad and rushed and f-king busy!
I really didn't like Xenoverse much ESPECIALLY when they made me play 2 rounds of a dpsht trading card game in the story, I just quit right there. This looked like more xenoverse with stupid uninteresting minigames so I never picked it up
I think about this a lot but I think this game should have had more development time to include OG dragon ball.

This game was a nice batch of fresh air. And great idea to cover each arc as there own video.
At first I wasn't sure how I felt about this game but now it's one of my all-time favorites. I can't wait to see what the next DLC is.
The FFX Battle Theme in the background brought back memories too, thank you Hidden, you're the one!^^
Hope they add more old Dragon Ball content
They were definitely teasing that idea by including Kid Goku in the latest DLC. I'd like to think they wouldn't go out of their way to model him just for that one fight.
I want a whole new game that scales down a bit to feel a little more like OG Dragon Ball, but yeah.
That would go hard
43:30 I remember Kami permanently removed Goku's tail at one point, like he cauterized it with an energy beam after it was yanked off. Before he did that, Goku's tail also regrew randomly for plot reasons in the middle of a fight too. Piccolo I guess plotwise never knew Goku's and Gohan's tails can regrow.
Kakato might end up being the 2nd best dragon ball ever behind DBFZ
FighterZ is not even top 3
Hey thanks for putting my name in the video! Fire as always 🔥🔥🔥
33:17
I dont know.. could have used the NFS:Most Wanted joke, but since Vegeta doesnt yell, maybe it wouldnt work
Nappa: Everyone?
Vegeta: EVERYONE!!!!!
Wow I remember the original version of that intro from my old DBZ VHS tapes lol 0:02
I honestly love this Game!
Your retrospective soundtracks are the best part of the videos, that and the jokes.
Another wonderful video from a wonderful content creator. You are doing an amazing job. Great edits and comedy, great music, wonderful retrospwctive. You are super special awesome. Keep up the great work.
I love this Dragon Ball Z game!

43:32 My fan theory on tails is that they stop growing back when when Saiyans become adults.
I was really hoping for a "my fucking knee" joke when Vegeta was hit with the spirit bomb
7:55 yeah it’s still there, you even get an achievement for visiting it
its interesting to think that Kakarot is actually a complete remake of Legacy of Goku 🔥 Always wanted this! Love it so far despite flaws
2:03 😂😂 the sound
This game reminds me of legacy of goku II
Yes! that is exactly how I feel about it too
Your voice is very soothing. I play your vids to go to sleep. Then Proceed to finish it the day after i wake up. Thanks for another great upload❤

25:50 I respect the nier music in the background
It just dawned on me that if the Spirit Bomb can't hurt people without evil being in their heart, then it's related to the Devilmite Beam.
That opening just kicked me right in the nostalgia nuts.
Dragon Ball Z Kakarot is very nostalgic!
This was very satisfying to watch. Very great humor! Loved it :D
If you do xenoverse, I’ll send you all the dlc
hidden=bae

Well congrats, I was hesitant to get this game because I didn’t know much about
It but this video convinced me to buy the game
Great video i cant wait for episode 2!
I'm hoping for a naruto and bleach game in the same style as dbzk
The super hard optional fights for a Bleach game would be, "fight Kenpachi from this point of the story"
Naruto rise of ninja was like the closest thing we got so far but man I would lose it if we got bandai to give this kind of love and effort into a Naruto game where you get to play the full story with this amount of detail
Hidden is so hot ! Love your videos
Thank You :D
Nice
Please cover the rest of the sagas! Love watching your videos and seeing your takes
1:05 "it GOES where no DragonBall Z game has gone before.......in the trash" 😂
Ngl there are a few other mid db games
31:12 😂😂😂
The scream lol
Cant whait for you to make a collection of all you kakarrot videos and every time you make a new kakarrot video you made a new version
A lot of the RPG bits just don't work well in this game or work well with the story of dragon ball. The combat and moving around the world felt awesome though and it's probably the best telling of the dragon ball story in video game format I've played. A really good game for fans of the franchise.
I love your videos!
Still cant believe hidden is a newzealander
FFX BATTLE MUSIC. BEST CHOICE. MY CHILDHOOODDD😭😭😭😭💜
I don't know if anyone has asked before but could you review Dragon Ball Attack of the saiyans for Nintendo DS? Like you'r videos hope you keep making good content.
Until you mentioned it, i never made the connection on the similarities betweem DBZ Kakarot and FF7 Remake
Review of attack of the super saiyans on ds soon? The pixel art is so badass
Positive comment.
Thankful reply
1:59 😂
whats the song at 8:20 and beyond? it sounds so familiar but its not coming to me!
DBZ Karrot Stop the Vegetables 😂
35:51 Iwas wondering if you would be able to procastinate and you can. Many games does NOT do this actually... at least the ones I played.
Is it really a retrospective if there is only one game and it's still getting new content?
:)
Man this game is severely held back by cyberconnect2 copy pasted combat which so sad because they nail everything but main gameplay
This game would have so much more replayability if the characters made more noises...
Like everytime id fight as goku hed do the same "aaaahhh!!" Noise over and over and over
I tried a second playthrough but this made me uninstall 😢

I hate the cor shading it's too XenoVerse
First
24:00 I hate these Gohan's fury expressions, they are GARBAGE! THEY ALL VERY VERY BAD!
RAditz headbutt, oozaru's scream transformation, SSJ2 transformation.. all very bad and rushed and f-king busy!
u say manga funny.. "menga"
