+Irfan Hobaya that is so nice to hear feedback - I am glad check it came out awesome -- check my new recipes they are all on UA-cam under 'mumsicle's Kitchen' or ''mumtaz hasham'
I use you recipe of makati sania. Sorry to say but it didn't turn out great. I use Kanwood liquidiser machine to blend rice but it did not blend to smooth consistency I got fedup. Can it be rice? and the colour was not white as your.Any suggestion?
Yes it can be the rice as no one has complained so far. Tilda Basmati rice works well too. You have to blend for at least 7 minutes and it has to be smooth - you can use magic bullet if you have or any smoothie blender that will work nicely to blend the rice then perhaps transfer to your blender and do the rest don’t over heat as yeast will not rise if over heated - trial and error inshallah next time it will work
Hi my Orlando friend says you can get it from fancy produce in Orlando. I have to check on the measurements for using coconut milk, as I haven't tried that but some people have used it like Raihanas cuisine and she has measurements on her UA-cam if you want to try her receipe. Success for this receipe is based on the Pkt usage.
You prolly dont give a shit but if you're bored like me during the covid times then you can watch pretty much all the latest movies on instaflixxer. Been binge watching with my girlfriend recently =)
Salaam Hope n pray all is well at your end inshallah How are you Tried your recipe today mashallah it turn out yummy 😋 I used little bit more coconut bar n no water
Since we can't get coconut cream in the packet in Orlando,*can we use liquid coconut cream that comes in a can?*How much would I need for this recipe?* instead of fermenting in water, can we use instant yeast of the same brand and just put in the blender? Would it be the same quantity as well? Asante sana !
Salaams i have the same concern re coconut cream.we dont get the block type shown in the video, i have the one in the packet, will that work? How much? Also the recipe says milk plus 2tbsp water but somewhere i read no water. Please can someone clarify. I love makate but never turn out good so really hope these measurements work out. Wish me luck
Masoomah Salim 2 tbsp water is to clean the blender with the rice mixture that is left behind. You can use coconut milk instead -- use 1/2 the can, that will work too.
JazakAllah for clarifying. I tried using coconut cream which we get here. I ised 10inch pan. Unfortunately i didnt get the spongy, lacey look. Not sure where i went wrong
Assalam Aleykum. If I use coconut cream in liquid form should I still add the 1cup of milk and should I still use the amount of water indicated in the recipe? Or it will affect the consistency. Niongeza mchele au ni punguze maji au nidlbadilishe tu solid cream to liquid Kisha vipimo vingine vibakie hivo?
First Check your yeast if it’s old - when you put in water does it ferment otherwise buy new yeast. Secondly are you using very hot liquid that can kill the yeast too
Irfan Hobaya yes you can use 1/2 only canned coconut cream and you can add instant yeast. Try and post your results important part is the blending of the rice.
I tried making this. It didn't turn out too bad but the texture was not right. Could you please clarify your cup measurement. I used the measuring cup but in your video it seems you used a mug?
Kush it is measuring cup not mug, as I measured and it equalled to the regular measuring cup. Don't be disheartened, you will get the hang of it. For texture when blending the liquid should not have grains, it should be smooth. I am sure you will have better luck next time.
Excellent Recipe

Hi Mumtaz,
What rice do you use long grain basmati or short grain. Beautiful video showing step by step very easy to follow. Thanks
It’s long grain but is ‘quality’ brand which is best for this recipe if you get it if not any long grain should work.

Can I use half brown rice and half white rice?
No brown rice will not work due to its texture and cooking time so please stay with original recipe

Keep trying you will get it finally perhaps you need to blend it longer - trial and error always nobody is perfect
Did you use active dry yeast?
Yes

+Fatuma Ahmed it will affect the consistency you should try and follow the recipe otherwise you won't get results
Can I have a written recipe pleae
It’s in the description box
Jazakallah kher
How much coconut milk tui if using plse
1 cup then don’t use milk
How much sugar? it is not listed in the ingredients list...
Sorry you missed reading it, it is listed as 1/2 cup sugar both in the video and in the drop down in the description
My makati if failing to rise. I used tinned coconut. I tried 3 times. Can anyone help
First Check your yeast if it’s old - when you put in water does it ferment otherwise buy new yeast. Secondly are you using very hot liquid that can kill the yeast too
can we use the canned coconut cream?? and can we directly add the instant yeast??
Irfan Hobaya yes you can use 1/2 only canned coconut cream and you can add instant yeast. Try and post your results important part is the blending of the rice.
Where does Raziya lives?
Private message me on messenger please
The problem is that I don't have that type of coconut u've used in ur recipe. I have the liquid one. What do I do?? Plz help
+Fatuma Ahmed you can substitute the coconut I used with coconut milk can but use only half can and then use milk and water as in the receipe try it
