THE PROCEDURE SHOWN IN THIS VIDEO WORKS! HOWEVER ... My A13's power button cable had a small metal bracket covering the connection to the logic board. Someone else brought this up in another comment ... this is how it comes from the factory (or, as another comment mentioned; the phone shown in the video is not an A13, but an A12). After experiencing the same power button issue, I replaced it using this video as a guide (a new button can be purchased from Amazon.) It worked for a little while ... until the button stopped working again. The problem is that the connector can come loose from the logic board after dropping the phone a few times (yeah, I'm clumsy with my phone). So I opened the phone back up, removed the little metal bracket, and reconnected the cable to the logic board. However, this time before reinstalling the metal bracket I carefully bent it inward a bit in the center. This applies more pressure to the connection. Keeps it from becoming disconnected from the logic board again. So far so good!

Thank you so much for this video. My daughter dropped her phone very badly and finger sensor & power button not working. After watching this video, I was able to safely open her phone up and quickly saw that the power button ribbon cable connector came out from motherboard. I plugged in the connector and closed up the phone. Works perfectly!👍👍👍

Im having the same issue, my gold wire thing snapped at some point. Is there any way to jump start it without buying new parts? Some way to get the power flowing through the end of the snapped cable long enough to power it on? I already got a new phone but i want to retrieve some stuff from this one.

After watching this the other night I opened my a13 and the button seemed functional the lead looked fine. I gave it a closer look a min ago and noticed the switch where connecting to the logic board looked slightly askew. When I checked to see if it was secure I saw it move as it wasn't seated. I have tried several times to reconnect the button to the logic board but it makes not attempt to click onto the logic board. Is there a truck. I tried tilting it a tiny bit so the switch would be downward on the top side of the phone but that made no difference. I don't want to force it but I pressed firmly and. It didn't click. Both the logic board connector and the buttons look fine.

@@iDoctorUK it will sit on the boards connecter but I'm almost certain there is a part that should be secured to the board that the power buttons connector is still connected to. Therefore when I'm trying to seat the connecter in place theres nothing to click to. There's just the grey box around the connection base on the logic board. It fits in place fine just nothing to keep it there. It looks like when the sweat shop made it they didn't get the contacts soldered except one. When I started to disconnect it I saw it was crooked then I clapped the ribbon and the whole thing came loose. I could see on tiny piece of copper foil on one contact of the bower button side and a tiny dot on the logic board. If you happen to fear the correct pins to jump please let me know. I didn't know that the finger print reader is in that button. I guess that's why there are so many contacts

Same thing with my A13 power button. Suddenly it started acting up so I switched to double tap to get it on. Well it died over night and now I cant get it started. It charged to 100% and I tried the USB cable tricks and all I get is the percentage . I even tried to go into recovery mode, nothing. I think I saw a update notification and I postponed it do you think not doing the update is making the phone act shitty? Everything on the inside looks fine. Any help would be appreciated.

I was hoping it was not an obvious fault. My side button stopped working. I went to settings and made the phone exit sleep with a double tap on the screen. I screwed up and fell asleep watching a movie and the battery ran down. Next day it was dead. Plugged in and charged to 100%. Can't turn it on due to the side button not working. If I plug the charger in after a few seconds an arrow forms and spins around the battery charged numbers as they increase to 100%. Tried holding side button and every combo of vol up and down. Tried plugging in and holding buttons then unplugging and releasing buttons. Every stupid assed thing I could find on you tube. Nothing powers it on. Popped the back off today. Leads to side button look perfect. No kinks burns cracks cuts etc. The button itself easily pushes in and clicks. You can feel it click. The lead was securely seated in the boards connector. Is there a way to short the contacts on the board to see if that will power it up? In case the button is internally damaged and isn't visible. At one point I was doing something before it ran out of power and I saw a message pop up on the screen that said finger print scanner or ? is inoperable . I don't know if I hit a button having to do with the fingerprint function. The phone has been used less than 4 months. Never dropped. Never wet. Been trying to get Samsung to repair it. Warning to all looking at Samsung phones. They have the worst customer care I've ever seen. I've been trying for most of this year to get the phone fixed or replaced. They said no problem it's under warranty. Said take it to authorized Samsung repair center. Best buy. Tried the two in ft worth Texas. Both are authorized SS repair centers. Both said they couldn't fix it. I got a copy of a letter from Samsung to best buy geek squad that they are not authorized to repair A series galaxy phones. Tried u break we fix. One said we don't like to work on those I suggest you take it somewhere else. Tried another and was told they can't work on them because Samsung won't give them the parts needed to fix them. Went to the one that doesn't like to work on those. Talked to the little stoner and after I talked to him he admitted they aren't allowed to work on a 13 or my a 20 he begged me to find another place to get it repaired. Anyone knowing how to jump start this thing I'd love to hear it.

@@starstone9473 I'll bet money if you crack the back off then pop the lenses off of the cameras your lead to the button is to be mounted directly under the end of the lens panel. My connecter to the logic board was loose. When it went to get a plastic pry thingy(industry term) to disconnect the power button lead the thing just flipped out of the way. It looks as though the contact module came loose from the logic board(desoldered or never was. Any hoo it's still in the connecter on the power button leads. I was looking at logic boards as best I can remember the power switch connector isn't as or shouldn't be as bulky as mine appears. I want the world to know what a piece of shite samsuck customer care is. Their policy at least in fort worth Texas is to not authorize repair of A series galaxy phones at their authorized repair centers. They have dicked me around by making me spend hours on their chat line bullshit. I completely did everything they told me to. They made of a dozen tickets on it. Then the connection would be lost and I'd have to start all over. This went on for hours at a time. They did this so long that the warranty ran out last week now they are saying they're going to see that I get a return box I a day or two. They were to call me back last night to give me the ticket info etc. They never called. I'll bet the box does show it it will but they will try to charge me ,$89.00 to fix it.
