  • How to reach the gorgeous Stäuben waterfall near Lucerne Switzerland. We rode a cable car up to the alpine pastures above the falls. Then hiked across the mountain and down river to reach the base of the falls.

    For an easier day, I also have an alternative that walks along a service road directly to the falls, skipping the mountain trail.

    Hello from London :) Switzerland is my favourite country on earth! Thanks for the video :)
    I'm planning to move to one of its villages but no idea what people do for living over there? (only interested in villages not big cities)

    I read your wonderful article and watched your video. Thanks a lot for this. First of all, I bought tickets for Zurich on the 3rd of June in the morning and for the return trip on the 5th of June, for 2 nights and about 3 days, which can be considered quite affordable. The reason I chose Switzerland was to be able to see the alps. After doing some research, I saw that it was impossible for me to visit many places in the Alps in such a short time. I would like to at least see Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald, Staubifall or similar places. Train tickets are too expensive. I wanted to rent a car from Zurich. Do I need to get an annual Vignette for toll fees first? Or do rental cars already have Vignettes? Funicular vs. I will not use it. Will the parking fees in the villages be such that it will force me? Can I even sleep in the car for 1 night or 2 nights? How are the roads from Zurich to Lauterbrunnen? I will be alone. Or what would you recommend? No need to seek adventure in this short time? Does it make sense to visit Zurich city center and return? Many thanks in advance.

    We'll be there next week from CA. I had seen this waterfall before but never knew how to get to it. Question, coming from Appenzell, what is the last train stop? Linthal? Then bus from there? I also noticed the nice upgrade in camera equipment, this video POPPED with color. iPhone 13? Thank you for sharing and perfect timing!

      Yes, train to linthal then long bus ride over the pass. I got a new go pro for the video, this was my first one with it. Glad you noticed.

      @@SwissFamilyFun how long of a bus ride would you estimate?

    • @SwissFamilyFun
      @SwissFamilyFun  2 роки тому

      @@bwoodpig You can look it up on Google Maps. 1hr14. The bus doesn't run very often, so check the schedule carefully.

    I saw a car at 5:40 does this mean that pretty village can be reached by driving too? Would love to pass by here with my small kids :)

      At the moment only locals can drive on that road because there is danger of rock fall or something. Maybe that will change soon.

      There's a bus stop nearby. My blog post linked in the description has detailed directions with the names of the bus stops and how to get there.
