We have been debt free, including the mortgage, since the pandemic. A lot changed at that point. We have been traveling abroad, saving lots of our sons college and we can afford to be more generous. Keep doing what you do. It will be worth it.
I love budgeting. It gives me a sense of security, comfort, and control with spending. I'm sure I will budget no matter what my personal financial situation is or becomes in the future.
I become debt free by living with parents and wiping out over 60k of debt for 2-3 years after undergrad. It was definitely difficult, but if you come up with a plan and stick to it, it pays off. Nothing could compare to getting that message saying all my student loans were paid off from the lender. It's a great weight to get off your shoulders and truly sets you free.
I can’t wait to be able to say I’m debt free -currently working my way through about $200k in student loans (thankfully only 2.8% interest), but am grateful to have been able to max out retirement accounts and save up to put about 25% down on a home at the same time. I just can’t wait to not have to send $2k/month to Laurel Road/Mohela anymore!
This is such a great testimony to what being debt free is like for you! I love it. Great concept. Being debt free allows my husband and I to dream more. And as we head towards retirement, we have a clearer picture of what is possible in that season of life! 🙂
I'm confused about the debt free thing. Didn't your last video show quite a sizable mortgage debt ? There is nothing wrong with that obviously. But it's not very accurate to call yourself debt free anymore.
I struggle w people overlooking the fact that the money is dying all over the world. Start off by learning about that - you can spend 80 hours a week on the hamster wheel and still not be where you’d like to…. Bitcoin is a huge part of the future and anyone who chooses not to at least learn something about it is making a mistake in my opinion. Start with a Jeff Booth or an Alex Gladstein interview. Good luck!
I think the joke is the system we have in place now....where 12 rich guys go into a room once a month...decide how much money they are going to print...and who they are going to give it to. The war in Afghanistan went on for 20 years....that would not have happened if it had to be paid for...instead money was printed and given to all the necessary people to keep it going for that long. We have banks that are "too big to fail" which means the next time they run out of money we will print and give them enough money to make them whole again. That is the joke. Bitcoin is money with rules....created by people who are not impressed with the current system.
One man's debt is another man's asset.

Would you please make a video of the best bank to open a CD?
Love this video! Investing in a Bosch dishwasher which is going to be so welcome after scrimping and saving.
sounds fancy!!

You paid of your mortgage?
Congrats, it must be nice to be debt free and to not have a mortgage payment.
