I am so glad, my 13 year old son was privileged to take part in it, as part of a catholic scouts from Ireland.
are there Catholics scouts in Ireland?? Where? great for him !!! He is blessed.
Wonderful
There is one in Dublin, another one in Wexford or Waterford not 100%sure.
I met those guys! So cool, Ben the scout leader was an absolute unit and I was so pleased to meet him and the monks!
I would love to hear about his experiences. I think it would be amazing.
They are also ignoring the growing Spanish Covadonga Pilgrimage which is modelled on the Chartres one
I have just returned from the pilgrimage with the Scottish Chapter.... Best thing I have done as a Catholic(apart from the sacraments etc) in the last sixty years. I spent three days holding back the tears as I watched the young people pray sing and receive the sacraments with such enthusiasm. There is hope for the future of the Church.
Incredible time to be Catholics
Chapter? Please explain.
Awesome ❤💪✝️

let's hope there will be more next year, but i'm afraid the organizers are reaching the top of what is currently doable from a logistical point of view. I know people who wanted to go but were taken by surprise when the registration closed 3 weeks ahead (in 2023 they refused people 1 week before the start). It's really great to see this new generation, and as usual, bishops are lagging behind or even refuse to see what is in front of their eyes.
Cardinal Muller offered Holy Mass. Michael Matt will be doing some videos in the coming days on the Chartres Pilgrimage. He has been attending for many years. Viva Cristo Rey
Awesome 💪✝️
The Chartres Pilgrimage has been growing every year by leaps and bounds and yet very few bishops "accompany" these young people to say nothing of the Pope doing so at least in spirit. Why? I think we all know the answer to that question!
Yes, Michael Matt is doing a great job
As a non-Catholic Christian I was also there this year and very touched by the youth-pilgrimage. But I have no clue why the pope would not engage? What is the answer to that question??
@@lotticarotti1128 the answer is easy: council Vatican II is not catholic.
@@Limogesbelle Thank you. Makes sense. 🙏
@@lotticarotti1128 If you compare the catholic church until Pius XII with council Vatican II you can see that they have nothing in common. The lodges are working in this false church. The most difficult part is to convince of that the vast majority of blind catholic of nowadays.
I was proudly one of the 18.000 pilgrims this year. No doubt at all we were making the history of the Church and that of an entire continent. The hierarchies deliberately ignoring It are also making history.
Bravo ! Félicitations !
Me too ❤
Hello from France ! (I'm french) It is a pilgrimage, which takes place every year, in May, for the 3 days of Pentecost. In reality, there were many more than that, because, in fact, there were 2 distinct groups. The largest group (at least 20,000 Catholics) left Paris to go on foot to Chartres. It's about 100 km. And the other group, which also included several thousand Catholics, left Chartres to go on foot to Paris. In all, I think there must have been nearly 30,000 Catholics who made the pilgrimage. There were enormous logistics to ensure that everything went very well. The 2 groups attended a traditional mass every day, during which we receive Holy Communion, directly in the mouth and on our knees.
Thank you for making this video, to talk about it.
Fantastic!
I am so glad you said it's every year. That it's not all lost. In our parishin Germany there is absolutely nothing going on for young people. Our only son that we tried really hard to find a connection to the Catholic Church , being an altarserver, going to church every week, he is noe 19 and not interested at all. None of his friends are going to any church. It's a complete desaster. Maybe we can get him interested together with his cousins. Maybe you can pray for him? Merci beaucoup!

The SSPX also organises a pilgramage in the inverse direction, from Chartres to Paris, at the same time. I think they meet up somewhere in the middle and greet each other.
The reason the bishops don't mention either pilgrimage is because it doesn't fit their narrative. They think young people want new ways of living the faith; modern music, a modern liturgy, modern prayers in a modern language. They hate the fact that young catholics prefer the old ways. Simply put, most bishops today hate Tradition.
Well said!
The people who want modern music and a “chill” Jesus who’s a dude are age 60 and up!
@@mariekatherine5238ha ha, I am 65 and in my teens I preferred sacred music in church and disco music outside. But the old codges all got it wrong. Young people now never experienced sacred music in church and yearn for tradition in liturgy.
I was there, no we do not meet with the SSPX pilgrims
@@mariekatherine5238 That is not what the people want - far from it. People are asking for love and healing for all the brokenness in our lives - forgiveness too. Without this we shall perish. But Gos is bigger than we are. We have to admit our human weakness and ask for God to help us
stay strong faithfuls in Ireland❤🔥
Europe's Bishops largely ignore the largest Catholic youth event in May...because they are embarrassed by it. It reminds them of their grandparents' religiosity. "Such rigidity."
Not only does it embarrass them, but their support of it might set them at odds with Bergoglio. No self-respecting bishop would dare endorse anything as orthodox and as faithfully Catholic as Chartres Pilgrimage!
I heard recent convert to the Catholic Church, Candace Owens was there! Praise God. So good to see all the young.. gives me hope!
I was going to comment this. You beat me to it. I was thinking how it must have made an incredible impression on her to experience this as a recent convert. She would have had no opportunity to do this as a Protestant.
@@kzbaby2002 agreed! 🩵🙏🏼☺️
Thank you for sharing this🫶. It's incredible to see these kids continue to keep thier faith & follow through with tradition, despite Rome's attempts to turn them away from it. To be frank, I am so disappointed & disgusted with the choices Vatican has made in the last decade. God bless every one one of them. 🙏
I managed to do the pilgrimage on two occasions and will never forget it.
Tridentine Mass Robert....you surprised the Vatican ignores?
It is a great shame that the Tridentine Mass has become such a divisive force. It is no good pointing the finger at one part of the Church and apportioning blame. The Roman church has got itself into a big mess with this. UA-cam sites add fuel to the divisions and people happily feast on this!! It has to stop. If we continue like this each of us will be part of bringing down the Church. Yes it is a bitter pill to swallow. Many will reply ' But we are showing great reverence to the Eucharist - see how we kneel and receive on our tongues and hear our reverent and ancient Latin words' All very well - but the same voices rip apart all that is not a part of this tradition. The Eucharist must never divide people - if it does then something has gone very wrong - it's of human origin - and not the most noblest part of human potential. Brothers and sisters we must look deep into our hearts and ask ourselves 'Are our ways truly pleasing to God or have we become very clever at deceiving ourselves?' We must be honest with ourselves about this.
When I see Chartes videos I am so fillex with hope. This is the future.
Robert, good on you for recognizing the 2024 Pilgrimage! Thank you! 🙏🏻
Yes, even my French practising Catholic friends had never heard of the Chartres pilgrimage until I mentioned it. How crazy is that? BTW the Walsingham, UK pilgrimage, organised by the Latin Mass Society, is also growing. Takes place over August Bank Holiday weekend if interested.
Robert, what you’re pointing out can be summarized as follows: The overwhelming numbers of our bishops in church leadership are imposters in costume, not disciples fearlessly proclaiming the faith.
Bugnini Baggio boys
We have a large national Eucharistic revival this week in the US with four routes that will converge to form a cross.
Yes, thank You Jesus! You ARE the strongest & holiest voice of all. Truth wins!!!
I walked with the Swedes for the First two days, such devotion to Our Lady, oh and nearly EVERYONE was a convert
2 french bishops came to meet and to give support to the pilgrims : the bishop of Hauts-de-Seine ,Monseigneur Matthieu Rougé on saturday and the bishop of Chartres, Monseigneur Pansard on monday.
My heart and hope for the Church has been so strengthened by seeing these young people's display of Faith!! May Jesus Reign in all our hearts and lives!!!!!
The Pilgrims come from all over the world
Compare that footage to that of World Youth Day.........and see the difference! No rave priests ,no rowdy behaviour, and deep reverence for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass
Yeah I noticed Fr. DJ wasn’t invited

And you won't hear anything from the Roman Hierarchy about the Chartres pilgrimage!!! It doesn't fit their modernist narrative. They certainly know about it but they won't praise this incredible event. God bless the organizers, financial supporters and pilgrims! Thank you for posting this clip! It's important that this circulates as far as it can just so those Bishops who oppose this will know they can't stop or suppress it! A Blessed Pentecost to all!!

Not all in Rome
u r the one who has no faith...u should mind your manner's..pope Francis is cool..💙
I agree. In the most recent interview with CNN, the Pope threw Trads again under the bus. I live in a predominantly protestant area with some liberal Catholics. It is really tiring to not even have the Pope at your back. Sorry. Just saying.
@AS-np3yq the infiltrators have the Vatican, eclipse maybe?
Of course Rome and Bishops ignored it. It’s traditional! It looked like the Latin Mass being done too!
This is more fuel on the fires of division. We have to follow the Way of Jesus and seek to heal - otherwise we are letting God down.
@@maddyproctor1443 we have a Pope and hierarchy changing the changeable Catholic doctrine and dogma, which is heresy. This is disobedient and unleashing to our Lord. Having a traditional pilgrimage walk and Latin Mass to honor our Lord and Savior though is pleasing, more than pleasing. As compared to clown masses, or masses on the beach, or blowing big bubbles.
Truly inspiring. Thanks to all the organizers and participants. I really needed to see this. The "Eucharist Revival" just started in the US. First event? 2500 participants.
Who then shall prevail .. the Lady and her Immaculate Heart or the ways of men in their 'time' obsessed hearts. Ah! the spirts that move a man's heart are legion, but it is the Holy Ghost Who pours out heart-healing graces in abundance .. as Our Lady requests. The choice is each our own to make, either under that legion or in the divine Spirit.
Keep the Faith; tell the truth, shame the devil, and let the demons shriek.

Tradition is the future! Viva!!!
Let us remember how Jesus saw tradition - more often than not the Scribes and the pharisees made burdens to lay on people - so much so that it became extremely difficult for the ordinary person of goodwill to fulfill all the complexities of the Law. We need to remind ourselves that the Word of God is alive and active and that it cuts more finely than a two edged sword - it is not a heavy millstone - it is life.
Viva Christo Rey! From Switzerland. Best wishes to Catholic Ireland!
This is so beautiful to see!!
I would be with them if I could get there..I so love my catholic faith....❤❤❤

Bless you and michael matt
Saying the Mass in Latin is universal for everyone there. Which unites everyone even more.
Back in the 1950's a priest preached from the pulpit that it was appropriate and beneficial for a universal church to have a universal language for its liturgy, and this was before holidays abroad became available to many people through the low cost package. The Muslims and Jews have known this for centuries, and so did we until the post Vatican 2 rush to turn the liturgy into a Tower of Babel with all the add-on enculturation bits.
@@paulbastier3773 I am piecing things together and the change in teachings was seismic. It was a disaster. It like the flip the church on its head and shook it out to nothingness.
Love the CATHEDRAL of Chartres
It was 17000 till 18 000. There was a lot of people older people too. I was there too. I am not young DDDD., but majority was young, of course. In Poland every year there is a pilgrimage of about 200 000 people on foot to Czestochowa. At August ist the greatest pilgrimage time about 80 000. They walk different distances, encore over 600 km. They are mainly/majority young people too.

When i did the pilgrimage from 2000-7 there was always a papal representative there at Chartes!
The Chartes pilgrimage is seen well by the French Bishops conference. The bishop on Chartes comes and meets the pilgrims a few miles out to welcome them every year

We're used to this kind of stuff in the United States.I once circled the city of san antonio on the outer loop where there was wall to wall people praying against abortion not a word on the local media
This is just typical
To me it's typical of the Church. That youngsters can walk 3 days and not be acknowledged is an awful behaviour from our older church members and Fathers. It is so so sad. Bravo kids
We are the caretakers & custodians of the faith. We are the remnant that Our Blessed Lady foretold.
Hello french person here with a husband who did the Chartres Pilgrimage (I couldn't go because I'm currently pregnant) and the reason is that the masses performed by the fathers during the Chartres pilgrimage are in Latin and following the Tridentine rite, thus they're technically not "allowed" by the church. There was actually even a SECOND pilgrimage of 6000 Catholics that went the other was (Chartres-Paris instead of Paris Chartres) were they were straight up BANNED from entering the churches because they don't recognize Vatican 2.
So it was actually 26000~ people, and the craziest part ? They had to close the registrations early because too many people signed up, so we don't even know how many more could have come !
Don’t know where you I got the idea that traditional Latin Mass is not allowed? The FSSP, ICKSP and others are fully approved by the church, in canonical status and fully 100% allowed to say the traditional Latin Mass
N'importe quoi !
Praise be to God!
They ignore just about everything. It's so sad.
God knows, and He rewards...
Almighty God sees all and He is mightier than all the Bishop's
The youth that took place in this pilgrimage walk our the future of a great Catholic faith god bless them
I have.
N't the slightest idea which they could possibly be afraid of
In Chatres, the Holy Spirit is mobilising mostly young people to do the pilgrimage and attend TLM. I somehow refuse to think that that the same Holy Spirit is present in the Synod of Synodality, and making all the wrong decisions for the universal Church
26000 persons this year.
Can you start something like this in Ireland? When I visited from the US, I was amazed at all the Holy sites and medival castles, dolmans and round towers, all just there in the countryside.
And I'll add that the Bshps and Vactican have no idea what the future of the Church is, they are all of the "new mass" generation and run things for now, but thier time is ending.

Good. The youth will wake up and see what kind of M.F. they are.
Well said Father. It needed saying. Fr Stuart.
I was at the UKRAINIAN Catholic Riye Church this weekend. Second week in a row, there was a Catholic from the Latin Rite. I amd another parish member was trying to explain the Divine Liturgy/Mass of St. John Chrysostom. We had no time to ask the person what part of the LR they were from. But their Liturgical Body Language seemed very high. Maybe one of the 1962 parishrs in Houston. Even with the DL/M mostly in UKRAINIAN, he said he would be back.
In another Byzantine parish in Communion in Houston, there had been a huge increase of LR Catholics. From the 1962 Missal parishes.
So, I have to ask questions. Is this Houston thing? The 1962 Parishes are in the Galveston Houston Archdiocese.
So why are these people moving? There are things the GAL-HOU Archdiocese is doing these Catholics do not want to be a part of? Are they looking for a more ancient, complex Liturgy.
I do not think people realize this, but if you do go to a 1962 Mass in a local parish, you are under the same Church diocese structures as those using the NO. Any monies to the diocese support those same structures as a NO parish.
So, for some, I guess, you must go to an Eastern Rite in Communion so you can remain within the Catholic Church, but can avoid, for now, most of the bull manure.
I remember back in the early 1970's when I lived in London that a number of people who were unwilling to have the novus ordo forced on them sought refuge in the Ukrainian Cathedral of the Holy Family in Duke Street. As the numbers increased it became a problem to fit everybody in. This prompted the Cardinal Heenan to send a letter to the parishes of his diocese reminding the people that it required the Bishops permission for a Catholic to change to another rite. Not written but implied was that it would not be given because you did not like the new Mass.
Additional info: There were also many adults over 40 and even elderly people ! 😊
We have to stand up.We have to unite we have to be unafraid. We have to speak out and loudly with a capital L

Our Lady indicated at Garabandal and said out right at Medjugorje, that it would be the LAITY who would carry the faith through the dark times by the Rosary.
None of them are approved by the church
@@annburke6705 Neither are they condemned by the church. Padre Pio endorsed Garabandal in writing, then met Concheta with her mother and a priest at his monastery. They talked for two hours. When he died his Rosary was taken to her by a priest from his monastery. Saint Mother Teresa endorsed Garabandal also and asked for a meeting with Concheta in America. They became firm friends and Mother Teresa was her third childs Godmother. Photos found on google. Pope John Paul wrote to the visionaries in Medjugorje and gave his Blessing, Benedict also. Just on the matter of grammar, "I stand corrected" means I admit I am wrong, and "I stand to be corrected"" which means I admit the possibility I might be wrong but have not been shown that yet.
Ok.
Rome's silence is so embarrassing
The only issue is that in the English speaking world a lot of the promotion for this pilgrimage comes from radical fringe trads. Regardless- It’s a beautiful display of Faith but France is far from the US. People would rather go on a pilgrimage from that far away to Lourdes, Fatima or Rome. Most Catholics never heard of this shrine. We also have world youth day, Medjugorje youth festival, etc.
Deo gratias 🙏⚔️🕊️
I wouldn't say that it's the bishops fault, it's the fault of the papacy. The Chartres pilgramage is about traditional catholic rituals and you can see it in the ending celebration mass, which is seen as rebellion by Bergoglio, it's even too european for his liking. Even promotiong the Chartes pilgramage could be seen as rebellion against vatican II. I don't know if you've noticed priests talking about the Order of Saint Claire in Spain leaving the church and calling the throne vacant. But they explain that every parish and diocese is afraid to take a stance on matters such as these because they're afraid to get dispossed by the vatican. Tridentine priests and traditionnal catholics want to have a council to elect a pope or to at least clarify the positions of the cardinals regarding vatican II. Which is exactly what the order of Saint Claire has called for, Bergoglio's biggest mistake was to threaten the sisters of dispossession, meaning that they have nothing left to loose. It didn't always use to be this way, Bennedict XVI praised the Chartres pilgramage and catholics of traditional or new churches alike are orphans ever since he was replaced, may he rest in peace. Sede vacante, christus rex.
Don't lose sleep, please. You're not gonna hear anything let's face it
