This tutorial was actually very helpful unlike other videos. I appreciate for you helping me. I was stuck on cable and all that stuff, and it was stressing me out, but you helped me out a lot. Thank you very much.
Got this desktop for years just setting it up. Forgot how. Thus is straightforward. Thank you 😊 Now the next steps and if not working what might be causes?
Thank you for this tutorial as it was exactly what I needed to review as I had not set up a new home computer in 10 years. Thank you for going over each step showing photos and where you plug items into. Very helpful tutorial for a non technical person like myself.
Glad it helped! I was wondering if this video would be helpful, as most people without a computer wouldn't be able to watch it. I hope it'll be helpful for people watching from their phone. Thank you for watching.
You did a very good job explaining how to hook up the wires and what I needed . My computer did not come with a VGA cable and the store where I purchased it did not have one or know what cable I needed. Thank You.
Thank you so much for the clear instructions.I have an ICT test coming up and the test is to assemble a desktop computer so I need to study thank you so much you really helped!
Thank you very much for the detailed explanation. Just a brief explanation though is required on where do you connect a UPS here, is it where the surge board is ? And which does not have to be connected and powered from the UPS ?
Thank you sooooo much! This is so helpful- it's a perfect level for people like me :-) and you explain everything very clearly. Thank you for the great course!!
What if you have both hdmi and vga ports on a slightly older pc and only use one monitor? I’ve tried hdmi but it doesn’t seem to work, so do I need to buy the vga cable as well? Also I’m confused because when I plug the mouse into any of the usb ports the mouse lights up, but it will not move the cursor?
Great video, but I was hoping to see exactly what happens when the computer is "up and running." What will be showing on the monitor? What will I do at this point regarding icons that stay on my screen? where does anti-virus come in? Where does "Office" come in? What else do I do?? Hopefully I can find another video showing all this stuff.
When you power on the computer, you usually see the manufacturer's logo and then the operating system (like Windows) loads. As for antivirus, Windows already has one built-in called Microsoft Defender. Office is not included in Windows so you'll need to purchase it separately from Microsoft. Some manufacturers add a free trial for Office.
@@JJFlores197 Thank you, I appreciate the help. But I still don't know what to do about icons on my screen and the little ones on the bottom of the task bar (is that what it's called?). I don't know how they get there and/or how to get rid of them. And there's issues of even GETTING a shortcut on the screen. I.E., there are NUMEROUS unanswered questions to get a new computer up and running. So I'm hoping to find a video that addresses all of these issues. But, again, thank you!
Hello... I'm connecting my computer by Ethernet to my router most of my browsing is UA-cam tutorials, Amazon- no gaming. Do I purchase a Cat 6 -7 or 8 ethernet cable? Thank you
Any standard network cable you find will be more than adequate. There's no need for CAT7/CAT8 unless you're using multi-gigabit speeds which the vast majority of computer users will never use.
A very thorough coverage and well explained tutorial. Thank you. I found my old dead desktop and needed to work out which is which looking at its tower's back. Much appreciated from beautiful springtime Melbourne Down Under.
Can you confirm the cable is securely plugged in on both ends? Sometimes reseating them at both ends can help. Do you have another computer to test the cable with? Are you connecting a 2nd monitor to your computer or is this the only one you're connecting? And what's the computer model number?
BIG WARNING: make sure that you use the graphic card ports (if you have one) instead of the motherboard ports!! I would add this warning to the video, because it's a mistake that many noobs are likely to make
My husband (71y/o) just purchased a new HP Desktop PC from Best Buy. There's a black metal screen that HE "claims" was in the tower....just loose in there!! He's had the back off the PC 4-5 times trying to figure out WHERE this black panel (with a bunch of holes in it, it looks like a grate, etc) goes. Can someone help me? Thanks
Make sure the video cable is plugged in securely on both ends: on the monitor and on the computer's video port. If your computer has a dedicated graphics card, make sure you plug the video cable into the card's video port instead of the motherboard's video output. Also, make sure your monitor is on the correct input. On monitors that have multi inputs, it is possible to sometimes inadvertently change inputs. Most should auto switch when you plug in a video cable or it receives a video signal, but some may not have that feature or it may be disabled.
How do I get power to the monitor so that I can turn it on? No one mentions that. Please ASSUME NOTHING. There are people like me who KNOW NOTHING. I''ve been to Best Best Buy twice. I showed them photos of my set up on my phone and they still didn't get me the cable for the POWER SOURCE for the monitor.
