Waw, all these skills, good job 👌
The secret is to not let the task intimidate you. I'm just figuring it out as I go. Thanks for stopping by.
Great video just did this last week
It's Definitely important to start with a good foundation. Thanks for stopping by.
I have never seen this done before. I am impressed.
I didn't want to build my interior on a faulty floor or trust it to hold my fresh water tank that weight approx. 560 pds. when full. Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned for more like this. 😃
Definitely needs a good foundation too. Lots of hard work but just wait until it's finished. The sweat equity will be worth it!
I've got a whole stack of water tanks, shower, etc to install. Stay tuned. 😃 Thanks for your support.
I really enjoyed watching the work you did with the floor replacement of your box truck I just purchased a Similar truck with floor damage I did not know how to tackle the problem but you gave me a starting and finish point thanks a lot. Formative keep up the good work
Thanks Paul! This is my first box truck build so I'm learning as I go as well. We're still working on ours but we've gotten enough done to travel in it about 1/3 of our time. Thanks for checking out our channel.
I'm really impressed on what you do yourself! I wouldn't be able to that! 😁 ATB
I just don't allow myself to be intimidated by the task, kind of like you are with your hikes. Thanks for your support.
Looking much more sturdier now! Great job y'all!
It's double ply now and the noise coming through the floor is actually a little quieter now. Thanks for watching and commenting too Marshall.
Oh cool, a conversion/build! I've been thinking about doing my own pull behind trailer build...but it's a timing thing at the moment. Thanks for sharing & look forward to the build progress 🤙-Josh
This is my first RV build but I have done some residential construction so I just use the lessons I've learned and make everything as light as I can. Thanks for watching and commenting.
You are doing really well. We have great expectations 👍🌈🙏 you can tell you know what you are doing. It will look fantastic 👍 keep going. Liked the outtakes 🎥
I'm glad to have you following along. To be honest I'm just figuring it out as I go. I'm glad you enjoyed the outtakes. Thank you.
New subscriber! I will be cutting into my boxvan floor too for repair. Thank you for the upload as this gave me a good look into how you done it and it’s not that hard I made it in my head to be lol .
Sometimes we over think stuff. Just don't let the task intimate you. Thanks for stopping by.
Great job. This is right up my alley. Using glue is a really good idea. Excellent job buddy 🤝
They say the wood glue is stronger than the wood. Thanks for your support Tracy.
I almost thought you gave up 😂 I was wrong 😉. When you hope to be ready?
It's going to take a round 6 months before itisdone. I'm not giving up. 😄 I am shooting for Sept 1 for a road trip to Utah and Nevada. Thanks for your support.
I didn’t know the floors in those things were just a thin sheet of plywood! If I end up buying one, I will for sure have to reinforce it, including with a layer of aluminum, just for security.
They're 3/4" marine plywood which is pretty tough plus between the steel frame and all of the cabinetry, bed, bathroom, etc. that will be mounted inside it would be nearly impossible for someone to cut their way through the bottom. I would just suggest steel or aluminum plate on the underside above the tires incase of a blowout. I plan on doing the at some point. Almost all RVs have the same type of wood floor but many are not marine grade. Are you thinking about building out a box van?
@@Fit4Expedition It is definitely something I have been looking into. I’m debating between that and several other possibilities, too, including a bus of some sort (most likely a shuttle bus type) or an ambulance. I like the idea of a box van because of the straight sides, and because I figure they probably have pretty high weight limits. I have *stuff*! 😆
My biggest issue is needing to be able to get my power wheelchair into whatever and still have room for other things, and just being able to get in and out of the driver’s seat. I’m only 5’1”, and between my height and pain issues, even my minivan can be tough to get into a lot of the time. I often use my wheelchair ramp even when I’m not using the chair.
@@wendyannh These box vans are very difficult to get in and out of. Mine has oversized tires that makes it about 4 inches higher than stock too.
What did you use to coat your 3/4" marine grade plywood ?
I'm doing my floor tomorrow
Got any vid for how to seal top joints of box truck
I haven't run into that issue yet. Did you try dicor or eterna bond tape or both?
What size is the plywood?
Its not aluminum. Aluminum does not throw sparks when cut. It is steel. You can test it with a magnet.
You are right. I was never able to go back and correct that. I believe it was actually galvanized. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I love your build videos, it's just the inspiration I needed!!!
Glad you like them! I hope they help!
