"ORANGE PRIDE" IN CALGARY! KLM Boeing 777-300ER at Calgary Airport

- Last Sunday, Dutch flag carrier KLM sent their "Orange Pride" livery to Calgary, for the first time in almost seven years!
This livery first came out in 2016, combining their existing blue livery with orange, the national colour of the the Netherlands.
Since then, it's become arguably one of the most iconic special liveries of our time, and its one and only visit to Calgary before this was back in August of 2017.
The livery did get a slight update back in November, with that orange to blue gradient on the fuselage being replaced with the Dutch flag instead.
This summer, KLM has been flying their smaller 777-200ERs to Calgary, so getting both the larger -300ER plus this one specifically was such a rare treat. Enjoy the video!

Honestly, I wish KLM would just make this their new livery for all their aircraft. It's so damn good looking and it makes sense to have their national colour on their national airline.

I would still prefer the whole blue classic livery that KLM used to have over this...Regardless the livery, it's still amazing that KLM still flies to remote places like Calgary. Montreal, Toronto or Vancouver I may understand but Calgary is really amazing..
YYC is hardly remote. It's a hub for many airlines.

Alex great video and I really like the colours of this 777-300 from KLM
I remember looking at flight radar and seeing this plane so i went outside and my house is lovated where all the planes turn around and go on finals to runway 35r and 35l. It was cool seeing the plane turn around and seeing it go on final.
If you saw on the YYC Airport Spotters group somebody actually requested this through a friend and somehow it worked.
Yeeeeah, they're welcome to try and take credit for this, but there's been many unofficial requests over the years so this is purely a coincidence.

Wonderful color pop with the orange and blue. We booked business next spring for tulip festival and a cruise. I am hoping the 777 is not displaced by a 330. KLM was 25% of WestJet cost for flex business. The hop from Paris does not govern the total price. Cmon WJ, make it easier to buy Canadian.

The orange color comes from William the Prince of Orange who led in 1568 the start of the Dutch Independence War against Spain. It took 80 years, ending in the peace treaty of Münster in 1648.
I watched this plane on final approach. Came in from the South. Thank you for the explanation! It was very strange to see the 2 contrasting colors in the sky.

Did you guys know that klm in fact doesn't stand for royal dutch airlines, rather the correct acronim is: royal air force(koninklijke lucht macht).

@@stijnVDA1994 No, Jerome is right and your explanation is wrong. KLM, fully named as KLM Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij N.V. translates into Royal Dutch Airlines. Air Force would translate into Luchtmacht, which is not the correct translation and thus that is not right.
