Dexmethasone ( and the docs and nurses) saved my life when I had covid last year.
God bless you Dr. Roger Sehault. Thanks a lot. I am a doctor. I get updated by you better than any journal. I am sharing with colleagues too. Is it possible to do monthly updates of ICU , just short snippets if possible. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Yes!
I'm going to be seeing this highlighted on all the major media sites...2 days or a week later with no breakdown of the how and why.
Doc and this channel is invaluable in showing the real science of medicine making it understandable for the average person.
Great drop 🫡🫶
Stands to reason. The pneumonia presents a hypoxia challenge, which increases acidity and systemic inflammation. Systemic inflammation disrupts all sorts of functions. Knock that down and the body can fight the fight it needs to without interference.
i am a nurse and i always watch Dr Sehault vlogs.
CITRIS-ALI study showed sepsis mortality cut in half by SOC+Vit C IV - a statistically significant outcome.
This will save SO MANY LIVES!
Thank you, Dr. Hansen!
Great stuff! Thanks for telling us about this!
Dr. Pierre Kory recommended hydrocortisone over 2 years ago - when treating CVID pneumonia. Nobody listened back then and it was called "misinformation."
This is not COVID pneumonia. This is bacterial pneumonia
@@Medcram CVID can cause a bacterial pneumonia, no?? Laying in bed, not moving, maybe even in a hospital??
Dr. Kory has ignored the larger picture, as have many. INFLUENZA.
Can you do a video on this fungus? All your videos are amazing
are you still recommending nano particle mnra vaccines after FOI Australian data about nano particles going to all organs ?
Thanks, this is a very good real world medicine study.
Great info. Surely it's worth running same treatment on all pneumonia cases and compare them against this control group.
(Not a doctor)
Great!
Interesting RCT study Doc! I understand the need for these types of clinical trials but also feel bad for the patients in the control group that would have benefitted from this treatment protocol.
so called "doctors" and other idiots proclaim only RTC evidence is valid and ignore clinical evidence proved up when REAL DOCTORS TREAT REAL PATIENTS in the real practice of medicine. so called establishment "doctors" and other RCT (often rigged) evidence only idiots kill and injure millions denying real treatments and often, needlessly kill and injure their placebo group participants.
You shouldn’t feel bad. Such a trial is entirely ethical. They are testing an intervention (a steroid here) without knowledge about the outcome. An intervention could have turned out the other way entirely causing more harm than good. Trials are stopped early if there is clear benefit earlier than planned to allow treatment of everyone.
EPIC!!!🙏👑🤴👑🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🥇🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆💎💎💎💎💎💯💓🎆👍🕊️🤩😍🤗🌅
I see at the bottom the tool asks about COVID-19 for research purposes. Is pneumonia from flu (a virus) always viral pneumonia? How does C19 pneumonia differ (bacterial &/or viral)?
Not trolling. Just like to add that potent topical steroids used incorrectly or for long periods of time on the wrong area can be disastrous. Google TSW. This is especially important for those who have eczema or other conditions and use topical creams.
Forgive me but.... This is pretty huge innit???
in 1993 a old lecturer told us at Sydney Uni we would be using steroids for sepsis....
Hello, why cant we use it in Paediatrics also? Seems promising!
Makes sense. Everyone I know who has taken Pepcid AC before bed during a respiratory illness has woken up feeling much better. Including Covid.
I always suspected that and tried using it
Important to notice that in this study they didn't exclude groups that we in the medical community already recognize as reaping benefits from corticoid therapy during CAP such as asthmatics and patients with Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. AS such the decrease in mortality could be heavily influenced by these patients.
Not by half.
Dr Piere Cory published this 3 years ago
So much emphasis on pharmaceutical industry always trying to figure out newest and best.
Makes you really question how much of medicine is for research or for profit.
Check out our videos on sunshine, water, air, and exercise.
Interesting they used hydrocortisone instead of dexamethasone.
intresting!!
its sounds like a strange shift of paradigm 🌚🌚🤔
and makes me wonder despite the fact of using cs in setting of septic shock(i mean the option has been in the crime scene since a long time ago) ,why such a strong positive interaction between a disease and its tx option surfaced this late???
how do you decouple the effect of hydrocortisone from insulin in this study? How can you say for sure this was the effect of the hydrocortisone?
No biological plausibility and previous trials where tight insulin control showed no survivor improvement.
Are hospitalized patients informed or given a choice as whether to participate in a trial study?
Yes always
5:35 that’s a lot of pneumonias to rule out, for hydrocortisone, an immunosuppressant, to be safe, 1211 out of 2011, over 60% 7:41
Yep. But still useful info.
How could this be implemented in care centers that don't have the option to ventilate or administer drugs intravenously?
Is oral administration of hydrocortison an option?
It is available orally we just don’t know if it would work in that population because it wasn’t designed for that
Similar studies were done in the past. Why did these prior trials fail?
Not initiated early enough and long enough
Per “The American Society of Hematology” those with a diagnosis of Cold Agglutinin Disease, should not be treated with corticosteroids. Does hydrocortisone fall into the same category? I find that knowledge of AIHA & CAD is limited among the medical community. I do realize the rarity of the DX. and that research is limited.
Hydrocortisone is a corticosteroid, I believe the first to be synthesized i.e. the oldest and probably cheapest corticosteroid
Hydrocortisone, intravenous Vit C, and Thiamine as a treatment for Sepsis.
Worked in retrospective trials but not prospective.
They will always find a way to discredit natural options.
In over 40 years I’ve seen adrenal support wax and wane over and over. Just stick to it, HC can’t hurt and can only help. Geez, I remember killing people with Xigris for sepsis, now we go full circle back to solu cortef.
Saw something today about the old SARS (Corona)
Possibly recombining with the Covid strain. the former being more deadly, the later more contagious. Based on lab studies about ace2 and LLPP2 (the second receptor could be a typo. This might be a good topic for the channel.
JONATHAN STRAND It was already discovered that Covid19 was a combination of two viruses early on and those were SARS and HIVAIDS that made the Covid19.
(?cytokine storm inflammation calming? H5n1 (1917 "spanish" flu) implications?)
Why didn't they use this to treat Covid?
Because it was more about politics than it was about effective treatment.
They did. Uk recovery trial showed improvement with generic dex. Completely goes against the narrative that no studies are done on cheap drugs.
@@michpemberton2487 - you still trolling here, anti-vaxxer?😂
Yeah that was one of the early interventions, it wasn't necessarily hydrocortisone but a very similar medication called dexamethasone there's some doubts and confusions about it because it's an immunosuppressant. I believe it's still contraindicated in the viral phase where the viruses is actively proliferating, but once it turns into an inflammatory pneumonia or ards they definitely use massive doses of corticosteroids.
@@gz993 - another anti-vaxxer nut job. This channel is science-based. Get lost.
I find it so strange that it took this long to show that steroids can help in late stage pneumonia. Its SIRS all the way down baby.
I think because there are different types of pneumonia. There is pneumonia caused by bacteria, viruses, and other entities. This makes conducting randomized controlled trials challenging.
Lesley Swick van Ness, a popular former news anchor in Illinois, died suddenly Monday. She was just 42 years old.
Earlier this week, A-List Hollywood actor “Jamie Foxx [was] rushed to the hospital after suffering a stroke,” according to the headline of a TMZ story.
Coincidentally, the Screen Actors’ Guild required actors to be jabbed before working on Hollywood sets during the pandemic.
I can't help but be reminded how trials are manipulated to get the result they want. Here, they want it to be effective so the intervention was started within 24 hours (as it should be). When Hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin were trialed, they wanted the intervention to fail so instead of starting the intervention right away it was delayed for a week. Very sneaky and unethical imo.
The Script Guitarist Mark Sheehan Dead at 46. Wonder if he died of sleep apnea, vasopressor toxicity or CAP? Baffling
