Too many people only look at numbers and don't factor in that even when he's this cold, Tatum still gets guarded like a top 5 player in the league, which is incredibly valuable. That's why everyone else can look so good, and they can be so dominant as a team, and also why Tatum is still shooting so much despite the misses. If you put another guy in there instead of Tatum, that'd completely change the way defenses guard them. It's all a part of their gameplan, and it's working very well so far.
Yeah well, luka and jokic get the same attention defensively, and don’t look this bad. I think thats the big difference between the real top players on the league
@@rickyricardo2006 they've had bad games too, they just don't happen as often or get talked about as much. Also, no one outside of a few delusional dudes from Boston would have Tatum above either of those guys, so I don't think that's a fair comparison. Outside of those two, Giannis, and Embiid when healthy (which is rare), nobody is better than Tatum. Yet people act like he's barely top 10. Him and Shai are the same level of player but everyone looks at him like the glass is half empty and Shai like it's half full.

1. Tatum is pulling a D.B Cooper offensively
2. Mavs are flat out just unmatched in every category. Only person keeping up is Luka.
I think your wrong when you say offensively. Shooting wise good lord he’s been dogshit. But the offence is still a lot better when tatum has been on the court. When he’s on the court in the finals the offensive rating is 120 when he’s off it’s 100. His playmaking is what’s winning the celtics games.

Idk what Dallas can do. Their guys cannot shoot above the break threes all playoffs. Luka was godly in the first half (like 80% shooting) while the Celtics were building the whole city of Boston from three with Tatum alone building Charlestown, Dorchester and Roxbury

6 year 70 mil isn't cheap but it doesn't seem a lot when u think of the "LAKERS" where ur one of the prestigious franchise alongside the Celtics. Let's remember that Mavs came back against a 64-win suns team in 2022, I hope Kidd will come up with some defensive witchcraft like he did that time
1. Tatum is on a lower tier cuz he doesnt show up in the playoffs. Then proceeds to say embiid is up there.
2. Tatum and luka are completely on different tiers. Luka proceeds to almost put up a quadruple double if u count turnovers.
3.luka is the best player by far. He proceeds to guard jrue holiday and makes him look like a finals mvp. The biggest weakness on their defense .( he definitely is the best but defensive needs to be factored in).
4. Celtics hardly double luka and tatum has to go through a double team sometimes 3 guys to get a layup.
5. Tatum needs to shoot better. Agreed he does but he has 12 assists and 9 rebounds, and if he makes a couple layups thay he just barely missed he is 40%.
6. Tatum plays like the tim duncan in the sense of he just makes it simple he doesnt need to do a behind the back pass. He is just going to make a simple pass and nothing flashy. Or the amount of times he passes it to the guy that then gets the assist.
7. If u wanna look at stats he has been leading in almost everhthing for the celtics all these playoff games except for the finals.

Tatum gets tripled team. He has to put up shots to keep them honest but he is running the offence he is the most important defender in this defensive scheme that Boston run and he is rebounding against centers. His jump shooting has been horrible but he is still the reason the offence is running how it is and a big reason mavericks are struggling to execute
