I watch every second of every one of your videos that I start. I don’t watch every one I see because you know I’ve got a wife that has a honey do list that I have to attend to. You know. Please keep them videos coming and I’ll try to keep watching. Thanks for every one!
Its all about the eyeballs. They want to eat their prey head first if they can. I've seen my grandpappy pin the eyes off a old heads to a chunk before many years ago to get them to bite. (small ribbed tack nails. pic will follow). My old bones can't take the cold no more so yes I stay to the end. Always fun to watch. I'll always be there with you. Happy Holidays to you and yours.
Great day out 3 nice quality blues 1 gollywhopper a flatty. Thanks for taking us along. I appreciate you toughing it out through the colder weather to bring us some great content.
Let's go...Kayak Catfish. I have to this Justin. I love getting my notifications from you and cannot wait to be able to kick back and enjoy watching big cats bending those rods. Enjoyed seeing that flatty, but that golly whoppers blue stole the show. Thanks for bringing us along.
I watch every video you put out,and puts a smile on my face, but my Christmas will never be the same, my dad passed away December 18th, he was a great man and even better dad. Have a Merry Christmas Justin
I'm always waiting for you to post your videos. I like to watch em every night before I go to bed. Everyone that says you are the goat at catfishing, it's true. And the fact your one of the fisherman that always gives us tips and tricks is awesome. Lots will not share. Keep the content coming.
I don’t see how you walk straight as much time as you spend on the water. I’ve done it for days and even weeks at a time and after I get back on land when I close my eyes, I can feel like I’m still on the boat and feel all the waves.😂 Glad you made it back safe from Florida this time last year I was worried about you. You sure took a ride.
Another Nice video. I like the way you ralk to the fish. It makes them feel important. HAHAHA!! The important lesson is being where the fish are on a good piece of structure. As Buck Perry would say, "You can't catch fish where they're not." Keep up the great work
Im the opposite. Id much rather fish in the winter. No pleasure boaters, and way less fisherman. You can always add clothes for warmth. Cant take too many off though when its hot. Apparently being naked is frowned upon 😂😂
Nice blues Justin, flathead wasn't to shabby either! Been subscribed for quite a long while and you're really making quality fishing content, keep on doing your thing doing a great job!
I can kinda relate and still like going out with the basics. Im talking about ice fishing though. Something about just two rods, five gallon bucket and a auger. Those fish just seem a little special when you find em.
Glad your back on the TN River. I always wondered whether you preferred the upriver side of a creek mouth or the down stream side. Or does it seem to make a difference. Also does the location of the sum in the sky help determine which creek mouth you choose to try? As always great fishing video. Thanks Justin
One thing I’ve done when it seems like they have a preference bait wise is try to match up size profile. Sometimes it helps even it out a bit. Ive also discovered through various other highly scientific processes that some days they just prefer a certain rod. How they know? Beats me… but I swear its true lol all i can do is follow the science
This doesn’t really relate to this video, but I noticed you don’t have your power poles on the back of your Hobie anymore? Is this because it wasn’t holding the kayak well? I was thinking about doing the double power pole set up in the back, but I’m worried that it won’t be as secure as you need them to be when carp fishing and not having the nose move around. When you had the poles set up in the back, did it do well in securing kayak and keeping the nose from moving around?
I ended moving the power poles to right behind my seat on the Hobie. Having them in the back caused two issues. They were too close together so I still experienced the weather vaning effect in higher winds. The other problem was when I had a pole malfunction, I had to climb all the way to the back to try to get it up. Having the behind the seat put more distance between the poles which holds better in the wind and allows me to easily reach them if something goes wrong.
@@KayakCatfish Yep that was exactly my worry! If wind has the nose move around then I’m guessing when you’re fighting a carp the nose moves around quite a bit too then. It’s too bad because it’s such a clean look with it in the back but if it’s not securing properly, there’s no point. Thanks for the response, you saved me a lot of wasted time and money.
Depends on the area. Some parts of the main channel are more exposed to the wind than others. As a general rule, if the wind is over 15mph it is going to be a rough day in a kayak though.
A Great Video! Congratulations on catching some nice Blues! An a Flathead! Bro! That one is Not a TANK it was a Golly Whopper! If you bring Daphne along you'd catch the state record! Happy Holidays to you and family! From north Alabama ghenley35
I have to say your "Creeks" are rivers in Northern Illinois! That "creek" is the size of the Rock River through Wisconsin and Illinois! We have some big flattys, some, decent channels. No Blues.😢😭😭🤬🤬 Have had to explain the rays on fins to get people to understand we have no Blues!
Boy I know you don’t like that cold Justin but I swear it seem the colder it gets ….. the bigger the cats get ? I feel like if you can get a full body warm suit any way to really find a way to be comfortable in the cold , you could unlock the next level out there 80,s 90s an jus maybe you know what triple digit fish I believe in yah man giants will be cought this winter
I'm gonna go just as soon as I can get enough money for my license and try these brim heads so far i think I've got everything ready... but my license...
That big blue was worthy of the golleywopper title heck yeah nice catch

Still watching.....and still amazed at the fish you catch!
Thanks Randy! I am looking forward to more of your videos when you get your new boat on the water.
GREAT VIDEO and what a TANK BLUE!! Funny how the temperature gets warmer when you get on fish. That flathead was nice also.
Fist pumps letssss gooooo. That blue cat was huge, Nice work

Woot, woot!! Nice cats today, Justin! I'm glad to see you on the water. It's raining like no one's business here.
Thanks Teri!
GREAT DAY IN THE DANG MORNIN' Justin, Look At That TANK Of A Blue!!🎣🐋👀👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great job, this is my favorite time of the year. No pleasure boaters. You can find fish, anchor above them and be ready to catch a monster.
Nice wintertime beast! We are coming down in a week. Will be hitting up Nickajack.
And once again, IT'S GOLLY WOPER TIME!!! and Justin, do your best to stay warm 😊!
Gotta love a flathead bite, my favorite fish to catch.
Thanks buddy!
I love watching your videos brother keep them coming peace out from Ohio Don T
Dammmm that was a huge blue !! Good for you Justin !
Looks like those scientists are gonna have to genetically engineer two-headed skipjacks. Thanks for another awesome video man.

Always good to see someone who catches quantity and quality still get excited on every bite.
Great job Justin you are the best catfish angler in my opinion😊
If I won a big lottery drawing, I would do whatever to go fishing with Justin.
Awesome video man!! Thanks for sharing
I thought i knew how to fish until I seen these videos. Great job Justin keep em coming.

I’m very sorry to hear about your father passing away. I can’t imagine how difficult that must be for you especially this close to the holidays.
Thank you Justin, it really is tough
Hi Capt Skipjack, well done ! Lots and lots of respect fighting the cold bud. And this with only 2 rods .... Youre great

You caught some nice ones, Justin always enjoy your catfish videos be safe and warm!
Sometimes simple is better!

Fish don’t bite the same in winter.

Big blue bruising 👊🏾 pump action!!! Keep dropping lines bud!!!

If there is current, I prefer the upriver side of a creek mouth. I have never factored the sun direction into choosing a creek mouth.
Quick question, do you have a video on how you sit that rig up? I like how you have it and would like to know how to do it step by step
Yes. I made a video about how to rig it last year
Awesome video, that power plant in the background, is that that same point you’ll anchor on in the winter in some of your older videos
Thanks! The power plant in this video is a different one than the one you are referring to in the other videos.
👊 Great video again Justin. Love them all.
Love your channel Justin.
Justin, your commentary is so cool! You should try stand up comedy! NO, I take that back, we want to see you catching fish!
How old do you think that first fish was? Thx. ken
I’m not sure
I pray that someday I will get to live in Tennessee, my family area is Nickajack area. I love all of your videos.
Love them flatheads!🎩
Great video Justin!
Does the trailing fly help a lot, you think?
Justin has said many times that the stinger flies have helped him catch lots of fish that he otherwise may not have caught.
You have not watched enough of his videos, Justin has caught a lot of fish on the stinger FLY.
Love the videos! Keep up the great fishing!

That first fish man!!!! I’d kill for a big blue like that in my lakes!! Nice funsizer
I said that before I seen the rest😂 fantastic winter fishing man
Beautiful Fish!
Any fish caught is good time!
what reels do you use
My biggest fish actually come during the winter months up here in Indiana.
🤩 beautiful fish!! 🤙

Justin what pants are you wearing in this video?
They are bibs from True Timber.
What's the highest wind speed you'll still going fishing out in the main channel in?
Depends on the area. Some parts of the main channel are more exposed to the wind than others. As a general rule, if the wind is over 15mph it is going to be a rough day in a kayak though.
Thanks, bro. It seems my only days off to fish line up with high winds or rain. @@KayakCatfish
My luck catching fish like that I’d flip my kayak
Amazing that skipjack are hard to find, and at the same time, the catfish want skipjack!
❤❤❤❤❤ ❤
Great trip!!!
Thank you Charles!
What leader do you use?
80lb mono
@@KayakCatfish I’m new to catfishing and only have 50lb Berkeley big game leader would that do the trick for bank fishing a river
It should work fine
I wish I grew up watching kayak catfish, rather than Virgil Ward! YEP, I'm that old!
We’ve been down to 32° in Las Vegas already
You have had one like that before with the droopy tail makes you wonder 🤔🤔🤔
I have caught a few like that through the years. I’m not sure if it’s from injury or deformity at birth.

What a giant
The butt section on that rod is a nice lenght for the kayak. Who makes that?
It’s my signature series rod made by Catfish Sumo. There is a link for them in the video description
I lost the butt of the rod rubber piece need a replacement. Pushed in to the bank in sand and didn’t know it 😢please help
Just send Catfish Sumo’s customer service an email. They will hook you up with a new one.
Hey bub I wish you could weigh them
💯❤️
I wonder if it's because you leave the guts in the head, not the chunk.
Does this man ever keep these fish for eating?
Ha ha ha! Old? Wait till 55 or more!!
First! Lol
Thanks TJ!
