So, two organizations had the wherewithal to save two queens, two flagships. Where are all of our flagships? Oh. Right. I forgot. This is the new US. We couldn't care less.
Isn’t it amazing that the richest people in the world won’t step up and save this queen of the seas. When she hits the bottom America’s name will hit the bottom also. God save the USS AMERICA.
I wonder if there was malice in Penn Warehousing doubling the rate as they apparently have? To get more money from the Conservancy because of greed? Or get cash from forcing the scrapping? Or they needed the berth for a better business opportunity? Guess we’ll never know for sure.
RMS Mauretania: A super fast & modern ship for her time that was built with war conversion in mind, was (and still is) majorly beloved by her home nation, also proudly carried the blue riband for an unfathomable amount of time. SS United States: A super fast & modern ship for her time that was built with war conversion in mind, was (and still is) majorly beloved by her home nation, also proudly carried the blue riband for an unfathomable amount of time.
Sad very sad. The silver lining is meaningless. Ide like to know why they stripped the interiors. I don't know why some rich pioneer could have rescued it. It brings a tear to my eye. I hate these new ships.
So the ship might go underwater, that’s mean they had to keep the funnel remains and preserved it as the represents of the country of a red, blue and white lining. Well. I ain’t no Oceanliner enthusiast, but now it’s very expensive today to restored it sadly. So the ship is a home of fishes now. But it could go on a heaven with the boats. I never blame the Conservancy for their failure to keep her floating. But looks like nobody wants it, and probably put her down peacefully.
The SSUS may be gone but she will be with us in our hearts
She hasn't left yet
They are going to preserve one of its funnels.
Both of them actually
Shes about to
@@LittleCaptainJoe The question is where would they put them?
Shame on us as a nation for not saving this beautiful marvel of engineering and our countries namesake..
She was beautiful and awesome. So sad that she was neglected and will be sunk. A metaphor for America.

Goodbye Beautiful Ship.
The ship that brought my father from Germany many moons ago

What an undignified end to have her sunk as a reef.A complete cop out by the Conservancy.Shame.!.

A beautiful tribute to the fastest passenger ocean liner.
Where are the original whistles now? How many whistles did Big U have?
Wdym
@@LittleCaptainJoe they’re asking where Big U’s horns are now
Idk but ik they still exist (the last one is her horn restored)
Hard for me to believe that no future for the Big U could be found. Dreadful.

I hope they get saved if they are still in there

The problem is these ships arrived too late to the jet age for transportation.
Yes indeed
