@STELLARMIGHTY same here I prefer session. I've been playing it since early access it was when if you barley touched a wall or ledge or anything you'd fall down. Like version 0.6 something
The controls arent difficult. They just arent like session and skater xl. Tony Hawk and Skate Series were night and day. I dont get how complaining you have to learn new controls make sense when Session has far more complex controls than this.
I jsut want some more street spots...Like, a city that's not in the snow, to skate. I don't know why they couldn't put some sort of city hub somewhere on the map. Otherwise, it's a pretty impressive game. The fact that you can load it up and skateboard, bmx, snowboard, ski, paraglide, whatever. It reminds me of those old Olympic games for like Playstation or N64. Where all the "events" are very basic and boring. We've come a loooooong way. My biggest problem with RR, it;s a little confusing. There's all sort of things that they don't explain. Like, sponsers and shit. The control scheme is kinda dog water too. I hate doing 180s and 360s. Just let me turn with my left stick!
I agree. And id like them to at least try when it comes to vert skating. Theres a park with a vert ramp in session. The character freaks out when you do it.
Great timing with this video! Been playing again the past week and it's honestly a great break from the other games. The Longboard Expansion is also super fun to me, 70mph Kickflips 😂
you need to just play skate missions and earn xp on the skate career and you can also unlock boards through sponsor missions. you gots to grind the game mate 😉
Sorry, big comment but I got a lot to say on the longboards lmao. I've been a longboarder for a few years now, and I'm into downhill/freeride, while doing a bit of it myself. Two of the big appeals are speed and slides. I think the longboards feel good, but they honestly feel too much like an afterthought. They even delegated longboards to the toys section, which if I'm being totally honest, feels kinda disrespectful. We also barely have any roads that are good for it. Going fast is awesome, but sliding just doesn't feel like its as enjoyable as it should be. Its kinda cool to see, but its basically just a drift around the corner button, rather than anything that can be used for style. Look up longboard freeriding, and you can see people doing insane massive slides, with crazy poses and grabs. In RR, you stop so quick that you don't have time to mess around with slide tricks. I kinda wish it was less "drift around the corner" and more "slide to slow down before the corner". That way it would be a bit closer to real downhill/freeride, while also giving you more time to throw some style in. Sorta like the longboard equivalent of air time in other sports. The other thing is that we only got 3 boards. Tbh, longboards have way more variation and customization than skateboards (Not me throwing shade, skateboards are almost perfectly optimized for parks and bowls). Take a quick look at the Landyachtz website and you can see how much variety there is. Wheels alone have big variety in size and how grippy or slidey they are. Different decks are good at different things. A drop through is good for high speed stability and makes initiating slides easy. Race decks try to find the perfect balance of stability and agility at high speeds. There are downhill boards with kicktails for doing some tricks. Big wheels are faster. Rounded wheels slide easier. Squared off edges grip more. I'm not saying they need to go all the way with it, but just 3 boards feels like they didn't really look into how much longboarding can vary. Its kinda hard to change it all now, but I think they could expand on it by adding freeride as an event type focused on sliding tricks, rather than only having racing.
You can unlock the golden board which has extra weight (lower pop) in the Vans mega ramp event, it’s a side objective to win and score over 900k on elite difficulty
Just picked up the complete edition for $30, pretty great value that included everything including skateboard but not longboard for some reason but do not really care to much for the longboard
If session had these animations...
Your backyard is majestic, s tier smoke spot
For real man
Thank you!
riders republic is a game i can really feel for a week or two but then i put down for a while
I wish Session had a push that looked like that! looks awesome
It looks so floaty and fake - let’s go back to session lol
it looks fun to play tbh
@@hellajanky1980 I think it does look fun for a more casual feel - but after getting used to the Skate Sim world I’m biased. It looks too easy
It's fun. It's arcade it isn't meant to be a sim

This is DEFINITELY better than XL, but not Session ha

We need smooth animations like that in session
EXACTLY!

if your always comparing you’ll never find what makes this game great this is the best extreme sports game of the 2020s

congrats on the viral vid hopefully some of those people subscribe!
Longboarding at those speeds reminds me of 2/3xtreme games😊
the realistic/heavy board is the gold skateboard, I think you have to beat the x games event
I wish they’d tweak the physics on the board. A lil bit more gravity would make it better to use
good to know, thanks!

Wasnt it the same devs that did the skateboarding section in riders Republic?
Do they have lip tricks?
It just looks like another form of tony hawk button mashing kinda game. Not in a bad way tho
You can change the time of day in the 3D map on Riders, find that perfect golden hour for getting clips
I wasn’t able to figure out the controls in this game for skating. But I guess I have to revisit this game.
Also seeing this video...XL should be even more ashamed of themselves for the crap they put out
Do you just ride around or is there objectives you have to do?
There is a career mode and competitions.
You can change the day time cycle in riders republic in the map menu
I'm a Video game Skateboarder, this is a good BMX game
Just picked up the complete edition for $30, pretty great value that included everything including skateboard but not longboard for some reason but do not really care to much for the longboard
The complete edition has everything from years 1 and 2. Longboards launched year 3 unfortunately
Their foot animation movements are really sick
i play this pretty consistently since i cant get skate 3 on playstation 😓
I really like the push animations
same!
Good ah days for skating and watch pigeon thief video❤
god this game needs a new skatepark tho
Yoooo no way my comment made the vid
Thanks for this
🔥🔥🔥
bro this game is shit imo , it didnt even stayed about realistic tricks , ill stay with session
Ikr 🤣🤣🤣
graphics are mid
I refuse to play anything Ubisoft makes
fair enough
'i got a good fit on if i say so myself"
yeah you're saying that xD we aint xD
bruh 😂
I like how Riders Republic marketing is paying all you UA-cam guys to pretend that this game isn’t absolute garbage lmao 😭
Ubisoft haven’t paid me a dime, they gave me the game last year and I’ve not been in contact with them since. I just like the game 🤷♂️
