- We had such a great time playing around with this beast! The fact that I was forced to use a tripod for most of the shots really challenged me to concentrate more on the visuals and the story instead of whipping out my gimbal and getting random shots. What a great practice! :)
I would highly advise you to at least check out this lens if you are into filmmaking. Maybe for run and gun situations this isn't the best choice, but for a short-film or a passion project, this will definitely be an experience for you! - www.indiegogo.com/projects/si...

I wish more people (in the UA-cam space) shot more on sticks. Your composition is so good here. Its all locked off!
Thank you! I feel the same, yeah it's nice to see things on gimbals and what not but it's also nice to see stable, blocked off shots.
@@zechariahmontoya326 the thing is motion is good, but its getting so over used and with no real sense or flow in the final Film. Like Greg already said, this right here is a great example for good composition and storytelling without the need of heavy movement.
Funny thing, I started run and gun shooting with a monopod before embracing the trend of gimbal work. This video and your comment is definitely causing me to realize that sometimes, simple is better. Let me go find my old sticks!
Half the video is clearly not locked on sticks...
By far the best review and video with the new Sirui lens! Excellent work, you two! :D
Nowhere near as clean as your reviews and tests, man! But thank you so much ❤️ love your content!!
A mixture of a lovely show and cinematic scenes. Love it!!
Oh, that's by far the most beautiful video shot on this lens! Thanks for all the work you've put in!
No, thank you, Arman for the support and kind words ❤️
This is next level from you Gundars . Love it
Dude, your channel sold me on these lenses. Looks crazy good, obviously mainly due to your great cinematography!
This was so much FUN! Amazing short, very cool, very funny, great comedy and a-ma-zing stunts!
Good concept, the story, composition, n color makes difficult to miss every bit of the scenes!!! perfectly executed!!!
Cant wait for your next video!!!
It’s coming really, really soon!! I think you guys will like the next video, it’ll be another short-film, but this time it’ll be more abstract 😄
Yeah! Amazing job! I'm in love with Anamorphic texture. Thank you for sharing it! =) ❤️
Absolutely beautiful colours and beautiful work
Great review and beautiful imagery and edit - thanks!
Beautiful composition and so cool story and acting. Great job! You showed as how powerfull is this lens 👍
Spectacular visuals! Enjoyed! Keep it coming!
Really good production value and composition. Kudos to your actor, she really nailed all the shots. Thank you.

beauuuutiiifuuuullll video!!! I am so inspired to do more video!!
Wow! That was so good
I am so insanely excited to get this lens! You've outdone everyone else reviewing this lens, but actually using it in short film! Thereby showing me all I need to know to confirm that I could use just THIS lens to shoot an entire project. Well done sir!
Thank you so much, Popart Films! Did you manage to get your hands on the lens or perhaps test it out? Would love to hear your thoughts!
@@DreamDuoFilms Ugh! It was supposed to be delivered today, but is now delayed to Friday. I'm planning on doing my own review and cinematic shots ASAP!
@@DreamDuoFilms yes! It’s awesome! I have a project With a tight deadline I have to finish first, but I plan on making a cinematic soon! Thanks for asking!
@DreamDuo Films I just posted a video about my new cinema rig with the new Sirui 75mm Anamorphic! Check it out!
Great video! And she was Fantastic! :)
great video, I've been loving the 50m.
Love it, you always inspire
I really like it! Great job
Beautifully shot.
That was awesome!
Incredible job mate! Really surprised to see Riga this way)
She speaks! 😀 Nice one!
Fantastic !
Suuuuper dope!
Beautiful compositions man.
Thank You guys, love Your content!
Nice & good luck with the horror short!
well shot and edited
Great video! Love that you used sticks and shot no hi fps at all. Thank you!
Thanks, Boomerang! Yup, we are slowly transitioning into the Cinema world and cannot wait to share more short films with you guys! Also, 25fps is the most fun to shoot in my opinion 😄
@@DreamDuoFilms And I cannot wait to watch them! :)
Awesome!!!
This is great fun. Thanks.
Like the style 👍🏻. Just subbed. Looking to dive into these lens just to throw me off my routine.
That’s the best feeling ever! I hate drowning in the routine myself, so filming with a new setup / new lens / a phone or whatever can really spark up your creativity
Amazing shots with the Sirui lens! I got a question about the de-squeeze used here if I may. In my estimation a 1.6x de-squeeze for 4K (3840 x 2160) should be 3840 x 1372, though this video resolution was set to 3840 x 1400. Is there any reason why? I ask because your video doesn't look distorted but if my math is right there's a 28px difference in height to what should be a true 1.6x squeeze.
Can you please explain how you do this quiz this footage in final cut and do you record in the special format? Can you answer my question please
looks great
This is all with the 75mm? And no additional grading, just a cinetone? I’m blown away I’ll buy this lens rn.
Great video! Did you end up outputting 2.8:1 because of the 16:9 or did you crop in a bit on the image and do 1.35:1 etc, hard to tell on my tv tbh
Badass video !!!!! thanks a lot for sharing
Quick question please , how do you desqueeze the footage in 2.8.1, what is your timeline size and footage size ?
Best
This footage is amazing! Did you have any issue with lens breathing? I've also heard that there is an issue with inconsistent desqueezing depending on how close the subject is to the lens but I'm not sure if that was just on an older version of the lens. Have you experienced any of these issues? Thanks!
He really is from Latvia. Damn, that’s crazy!
dope !!!!
Love from Nepal 🥰🤗🇳🇵
This is hilarious lol great sharp lens tho, nice for an anamorphic
Hi, can you manual focus the subject by using the on-screen tap focus?
Nice!!!!!
your video, short, and review here make more sense in looking at the actual use before investing in this new A-lens. Great effort here! Thank you DDF! Very curious in 3:46 there is this big rectangular blue blob and what I believe was shot in a controlled setting/environment. Any particular reason why this happened since there was no 'direct' light source that produces this confusing flare?
Thank you! 😊 hmm, I think it might have been becase there was a light source juuust outside of the frame on the right side, that might have caused some interesting light leaks
@@DreamDuoFilms i see. Appreciate your feedback. A thing that Sirui should look into... though your short for this test was really amazing! 👌👌👌
Amazing video. I'm currently shopping for a Sirui lens and torn between the 50mm and 75mm. This video has definitely pushed me more towards the larger lens. I do shoot a lot with my DJI RS2, would it be an absolute no go with this lens? I understand they're of metal construction and heavy.
Also, in the last section of this video there's a few push out shots, how did you achieve these? I have a slider but I think you mentioned only using a tripod for the most of this video. Thanks in advance. Amazing work too! Love the video, the shots and the grading.
Hey, Adam! I personally prefer the 75mm more than the 50. But that’s just me because I’ve always hated the 50mm focal length 😅 you’ll be able to balance the 75mm on the RS2 easily. If I managed to balance it on the zhiyun weebill 3s then balancing on RS2 will be a breeze. Could you point me to the push out shots because I’m not really sure what you’re talking about
@@DreamDuoFilms thank you for getting back to me so quickly. Why the dislike for 50mm? I personally think it's great, but on an Anamorphic maybe it would be too wide for the look I typically go for. Thank you for the heads up RE gimbal, definitely going to go for the 75mm now I reckon. One of the push/pull out shots starts at 5:43 with the silhouetted sunset shot. Then another straight after with the street view and traffic. Then at 5:49 with the pedestrianised street view with outside dining areas. It's very very subtle. But I'm all about the subtle movements and picked up on them straight away. Just curious as to how you achieved these.
can someone explain how i can get this de-squeeze look when on theatre mode?? other videos dont have the same width and are square like cropped, thanks
Hi, I love this aspect ratio, and the colours you got are great. Just a question. Where did you shoot and what did you shoot on? I thought it was Wroclaw to start with...but now I think it is er, Sweden???....mmm, not sure. :) (great video)
Thank you so much, Nick! We shot the whole video in Riga, Latvia and I shot on Sony A7S3 😊
What is the dual native iso for s cinetone, for night and day shots?
i think the 75 is the best
Looking into these Sirui lenses for the last couple of days. I may be getting the 50mm. Not 100% sure yet. But your review is helpful making a decision soon. Thanks.
It’s hard to short inside with the 50mm because it’s closer to 80mm
@@jayclas4023 and is easier to shoot inside with the 75?
Los planos generales los hiciste con el mismo 75mm?
Thanks for this video Dreamduo. The image and color are beautiful. May I ask what camera/s are you using in this project?
Hi, Jeffrey! Thank you for the kind words! :) I used a Sony A7S3 for this piece as for all the other videos we make
You’re welcome, and thanks so much for the response.
Oh god, Amazing review!
Wish there will be a video about how you colorgrade your footage, As I understand you are editing with davinci resolve and I have issues with that In my videos, because after export they lack contrast and look very different from how it looks in davinci.
Thank you, Rinald! My friend edits on Davinci, however this video was color-graded in Premiere Pro. Still can’t make myself move to Davinci, I am just way too fast with Premiere 😄 hmm, might want to check out some rendering settings on UA-cam? I usually just go with the UA-cam 4k preset in Premiere, has worked really well thus far
hellow from Ecuador, ¿What cam used in this video?
What camera was used here? Nice video! 😁
Sony A7S3, thank you so much! :)
What camera did you use for this video?
Круто очень понравилось!!!
Didi you graded this or just uploaded directly with s-cinetone?
I graded it a bit, but, honestly, didn’t do all that much, just played around with the color tones and blacks / whites / curves, that’s it
Was the color SOOC?😊
What camera? Thanks!
How heavy is this lens?
Whats the camera used in here?
Hi guys. Excelent channel and best presentation of the lens by far. I have a samll channel and I am doing video more and more besides my photography. I love the look of the anamorphic lensesl.
Would you be so kind to help me with few things. I am torn between 50 and this 75. It looks like 50 is more versitile because of wider focus range. Is there any way to desqueeze the footage properly on Sony A7sIII with an app monitor + or do i need to get an external monitor? Is it hard to shoot without desqueeze on LCD of the camera?...I like to keep the setup light and i don't use monitor. Thank you in advance. Regards from Croatia
What is the aspect ratio for this video?
shot on which camera
Great! When will the sale start. thanks!
It has already started, you can click the link in the description 😊
Which camera is this?
Sony A7S3 😊
Great footage! With the Sony fx6??? Can the camera handle anamorphic internally or did you have to do it in post?
I shot with the A7S3. I had to do it in post
@@DreamDuoFilms thanks.
Which lens? Venus or Saturn?
but what camera is this???
i saw that you switched from S-Log 2 to Cinetone...Mind shareing some useful Experience of yours....Solid content ASUSUAL
Thanks, Pepper! I switched to Cinetone for this video just because I wanted to film with a new profile picture for the fun of it. Slog3 is still the best, but sometimes it’s necessary to go out of your comfort zone and try something completely new, you know?
The only thing I did for Cinetone was set Zebra levels to 84, but that’s literally it 😄 oh and when you shoot Cinetone, I found out that underexposing by -0.7 to -1 gives the best results
@@DreamDuoFilms i am currently shooting on A7iii should i be on SLOG-2 or SLOG-3...i often get confused which one to go with...what your suggestion on this??
Спасибо за такую подачу! Снято отлично. Сам не мог определиться 50mm или 75mm. После этого видео конечно взял 75mm. Объектив отменный! Эффект гораздо лучше, чем у 50mm.
Can you please review the Sony a7IV please for video ?
Hi, Savy! We don’t have the Sony A74, yet, but we are planning on getting it soon 😊
« The blue flares are subtles » wtf ??!! 😂😂😂
Yes, the lens flares are super subtle in a lot of the scenes seen in this video, especially if you go T5.6
Name camera
Is that animal crossing voices talking on the phone??
SLOG3 > s-cinetone
Agreed
Just wow, but some cheap experts would assert that Sony color science is terrible 🤣
Just saw the Ukrainian flag! Are you in Ukraine right now??
Hi, Peter! Nope, we are from Latvia, however it is quite close to Ukraine, we are trying to support Ukraine as much as possible by organizing different events and charities. I randomly stumbled upon this charity when I was going for a walk and saw a lot of Ukrainian families there, so decided to film a couple of clips there because I found it beautiful to see so many people united and supporting one another ❤️
@@DreamDuoFilms I am very glad that you are in no danger of being in a war. I look further for new videos from you and your gorgeous girlfriend! Anxiously waiting for your horror movie!
Hey don't waste food
It was a fully eaten banana, so we didn't waste any food! :)
