  • Another mesmerizing set by Dara and Adam!
The MSR (March, Strathspey, Reel) is a signature Cape Breton arrangement, with each tune played twice. By my count there is one march (M), two strathspeys (S) and four reels(R).
If anyone knows any of the tune titles, please comment and I will add to the description.
2:04 Mary Scott (J. Scott Skinner) (Thanks @hillfiddler)
Recorded at the Baddeck Ceilidh, on the Cabot Trail in beautiful Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada
Dara and Adam have graciously given permission to upload this performance.

That sure got my feet astompin'! Wish we could have seen Adam's hands, too! (It seems to me his shirt almost matches the color of his Yearbook album wallet.) If you don't have Adam's Yearbook album yet, you need to go online and get it. It's fantastic!!
A big THANK YOU to all who were involved in making this performance available to the world!

Adam is a phenom for sure. For his Yearbook CD there is also an accompanying book of the sheet music.

Strathspey # 1 at 2:04 is Mary Scot by J. Scott Skinner. The remaining tunes all sound familiar, but unable to identify their names.

Description updated. Thanks! Interesting that Dara plays it as a strathespey, but in some performances it is described as a march. I think (rhythmically) that marches are just slow strathespeys, but I’m sure many would disagree…
