When I was living in CA (and more than a decade before I started hang gliding) I remember looking at lake Tahoe and surroundings from a "potential pilot'S perspective" and thought to myself: you wouldn't want to have to perform an outlanding here... Which brings me to my question: do people go cross country from Slide ? Great footage, thanks for sharing !
The locals were saying they almost never land north. It was consistently north most of the day. Made for some pretty significant turbulence up around 10k'.

Its interesting the wind is blowing offshore towards the lake! Two years ago when I landed there, the wind was from the lake.
