I'm basically using it to represent that they are on a reality show and being watched and golf ball feels that she cannot just Do Whatever She Wants bc of it
Like , it's better to play it safe when you don't know how viewers will take it. Which is not her only reason for hesitance in this situation but it's a big one
It isn't resolved by the end (it's still in a lot of the shots) but golf ball manages to work past this specific fear anyway
