Got mine yesterday, not so sure I like it though. While it is very attractive and well laid out I’m not impressed with the pad response as they’re too slippery unlike my solid Arturo’s BSP or Korg padKontrol. The control display is nice and the device integrated well with my FLS and Reason DAWs. Unfortunately all the demos and reviews I saw on the Aura tout its FX and not the actual use as an instrument…you never see anyone PLAYING the thing with the features that make it unique (like the 16 step sequencer for each pad) in a beat. Guess I’ll have to do that.

I was skeptical at first, with the competition being so established. However, the step sequencer is pretty gnarley and if it's purpose is an all in one answer to a variety of third party plugins. For £300. It 'ent bad at all. Akai and NI really dominate through their eco-systems. Sometimes you just want a controller and I totally get that!

Unlucky timing to release hardware, but I really hope it survives. Looks awesome

If they do better DAW integration for $350 Maschine is gonna have a problem.

@@Mr_Kirk_ They do pretty good integration (well over and above Mackie/HUI) with Cubase on their other keyboard controllers which are really easy to configure. Cubase, for example, has been crying out for this big time. If they added a firmware update to give another 3 lanes or 5 lanes of sequencing then pretty much every DAW has much better performance potential plus incorporating hardware control. They haven't a hope with Ableton but there's a lot of other DAWs out there crying out for a generic Push-like device not locked n the likes of Massive or Reaktor etci. I wish them well with it.

What’s new or different from Ni maschine 🤔

This really integrates with most daws, plus i can use maschine inside of the aura inside of Ableton, or an other daw and it just works, no need to configure tracks and maschie, I think most users will use it to control their daw, it works seamlessly., and will speed up your workflow. I dont use step editors very much to hardly ever, what I do like is how it works in different daws, for example load a logic instrument and you can scroll through the presets very fast with a turn of one of the knobs. Turn a knob to scroll through the tracks. Set start and end points for loop recording, and move another knob to move the leap instantly, all without touching the mouse.
