It’s a neglected market for Apple. They make a LOT more money from iPhones. And they’ve fumbled with a series of projects that steal focus from their cash cows, like the apple car project, VR space, trying to get into TV. They haven’t successfully moved into any new area after Steve Jobs, and their attempts steal focus from their primary areas. I really like my Mini 6, it’s pocketable and does alot. I’m thinking about the Mini 7 because my Mini 6 isn’t cellular and a tiny tablet having internet everywhere seems amazing. The pencil thing is such a ripoff, I’ve owned the 1st generation pencil, 2nd gen, and it works with my 12.9” pro ipad (2018) and mini 6.
Honestly, Im just happy they didn’t kill the iPad mini. Also with them updating the external design with the iPad mini 6 Im not upset over them keeping the same design with this mini 7. Just means I can use my old cases. 8GB ram and the A17 CPU is a solid upgrade overall. If I had to complain Id at least say come on and throw in a 90hz display. These things are not cheap
@@warrenmcclure7819 You think just 90hz is less than 120hz makes it cheaper? It would require an entirely new panel the same amount of R&D. Apple has said they are not going to do 90hz displays. Many reviewers of the new 2024 iPad Mini (7th generation) seem to be missing the point-by a country mile. The real focus here is price point. From Apple’s perspective, the iPad Mini needed an update, but it wasn’t about creating another high-end, desirable luxury gadget. Instead, it’s more in line with what the iPad used to represent before Apple’s focus shifted to large, powerful tablets with limited portability. The iPad Mini has never been a massive seller, but it has a loyal niche market that appreciates its unique size and functionality. And with this new model, Apple’s hit the right price. With this budget-friendly focus, Apple didn’t set out to pack the Mini with high-end specs. So, out go ultra-smooth screens, bigger batteries, and high-performance CPUs and GPUs. Instead, Apple made use of A17 Pro chips-those with one failed core from iPhone 15 production runs. The result? Perfectly usable chips that don’t drive up costs. More RAM and storage upgrades were manageable without bumping up the price. And the design? It’s built with one-handed use in mind, so slimming down the bezels wouldn’t be practical. The addition of the new Apple Pencil support and promises of more Apple intelligence down the line will appeal to users, even if some features aren’t available at launch. Plus, the Mini’s improved internals mean it can handle more “grown-up” apps-a nice perk for fans who need serious functionality in a portable form. This should set out the practical approach Apple took with the iPad Mini, making it a solid, cost-effective choice for those who value portability over luxury.
I just ordered mine and cannot wait to use it. My iPad mini (6th generation) broke last year due to a hardware failure so it made sense for me to wait for the refresh. I could have gotten a refurbished iPad mini (6th generation), but the 4 GB of RAM is a deal-breaker for me as the multitasking experience is not great. Also, the iPad mini is the only iPad that acts like an iPad. The iPad Air and iPad Pro try too much to be a laptop replacement, but fails due to iPadOS.
The ipad mini is develop for aircraft market. We don't care about face ID, processor, oled display, 120 hertz screen, or other things like that, we simply need something cheap, compact and functional since there needs to be two on board
That's a fair point, and that's a niche market - I see Samsung do something slightly similar with their Active series. On the other hand, Apple advertises this tablet to the average consumer.
They might have kept the camera on the short side for portrait mode due to the small size of the device. Just like how a lot of people hold it in their one hand, like you are, they're assuming it's not a two-handed device. Therefore, put the camera on the short side to use like a smart phone, with just a little more width. That's the logical reason why they would have left the camera on that side. Also, the size is a good replacement for an all around device if you wanted to have a very portable device, that can play games, surf, access apps, play games, etc. You can have a small portable kindle or even the paperwhite 7", which is still smaller. But the browser is terrible and can't do much more than read books, which is fine. It has a purpose. Outside of that, you're going to need a tablet. And yes, you can get the M4 iPad Pro 13", which I have. But it's a two-handed device that isn't as portable to travel with. So there's definitely a market for it. Just not for everyone or for everything, understandably. Everything has a purpose. You could also just go with a Macbook pro 16", but even though it has tons of power, it loses portability. @@IvanKam11 It's just out of greed that Samsung put the Dimensity 9300 in its Tab S10 instead of a Dimensity 9400 or Snapdragon 8 Elite. Samsung must have secured a deal with Mediatek, which allowed them to have the 9300 at a very low price. It may seem like a good deal, in the short term for Samsung, but for Samsung users, it seems like an insult to their intelligence. Even Apple 🍏, which is greed incarnate, does not allow itself to release its high-end of the year with an outdated processor, especially when the technological difference between the old (9300) and the new (9400 / 8 Elite) processor is so big and generational.
All the reviewers seem to be focused on whether or not it’s worth it to “upgrade” to the iPad mini from the 6. No one is talking about whether it’s worth it to upgrade to the iPad mini from an older iPad Pro or another iPad. Personally, I think it’s worth it. Besides, I think only tech reviewers do incremental upgrades. Others may do it with phones if their carrier allows it for free. I got this iPad Pro and magic keyboard years ago. This is what pisses me off even more about the Galaxy Tab S10 series, to the extent that I get triggered talking or typing about it like I am doing right now. I really really really hope freaking samsung had a reason to release them, pretty much hours before the announcement of these more powerful chips - I truly wish someone could give me insights in that strategy.
Hand held devices must be held by the hand --- like the physical book has not been improved in 400 years, so the Phone.
The rich get richer and screw the consumer!
This tablet is getting so much unnecessary hate
60hz is the only true issue for me
All the reviewers seem to be focused on whether or not it’s worth it to “upgrade” to the iPad mini from the 6.
Still works fine, not old yet, but it will not support Apple Intelligence.
F… appel I waited two years only 60 Hz🤮
Just a note, whenever a UA-cam thumbnail proclaims something is dead, or it's over, or cancel cancel cancel, I block the channel. Your clickbait doesn't work here.

🤣🤣🤣tell'em!!
I reckon his "block" button must be broken, because he says what he says, yet he's here commenting 🤷🏾♂️
What are you all gonna do, where are you gonna go? Android?? Windows??? 😂
Lol
Sounds boring
Apple tim is no steve
these releases are pathetic
apple became an expensive trash. There are so many other brands with good tablets 3x cheaper but with a great using experience
firstt
For $100 more you have an iPad Air 11” with the powerful M2 chip
I don’t want an 11 inch tablet lol
11” isn’t the form factor we want obviously.
Apple is bad. Who agrees with me? Anybody?😢
