Nic Jenzen-Jones, Director of Research for Headstamp Publishing, spent some time in Budapest speaking with László Becz, author of "Rifles on the Danube: Hungarian Kalashnikov Firearms 1959-2002". They talked about everything from the history of the FÉG factory to the difficulties in finding and interviewing retired engineers who don't have phones. All in all, Laszlo has put twenty years of work into this book, and it's exciting to see it come fully to fruition now!

@@timcheeseman2956I appreciate your joke. Thank you.
🤣
😂
Can’t wait to get the book and comb through all the details, seems like a lot of time and effort went into this. Köszönöm szépen Nic és László!
Kösz!
Woah Ian, you aged backwards!
Is Ian much older then Nic?
I have an AMD-65, AK-63D and AK-63F. I was excited to hear about this book being published and ordered a copy for myself.
I for one like seeing a non-Ian host! If this means we can have more Forgotten Weapons content, especially for something like books coming out, I consider that purely a good thing. It's not like this means Ian is doing less.
Thanks, guys! Lot of people asked me, who is Becz László. This is a perfect answer.
Thanks, Zoltan!
I'd really love to buy one of these books even more so after the fact he mentioned how rare or difficult to access the data was. Seems like something you can't find anywhere else
Such an interesting subject to pick, I'm sure Mr. Becz will do a great job exploring it. I wonder what Headstamp has in store next.
Ian didn’t think we’d notice it was a body double! Just kidding, I thoroughly enjoyed this interview and the fact that he looks like an Australian Ian was the cherry on top. More Ians from around the world please!
Ian is now just like the Stig.
The book is on my must have list. Very interesting and informative.
Thank you, Scott!
Very interesting interview, thanks for posting.
Thanks!
There is an old joke about coverd weapon manufacturing: A young couple expecting a baby and don't have the money for baby stroller. But the husband works in a baby stroller factory he brings the parts home and try assembly. After some week the man get angry and say to his wife: - I give up! No matter how many time i put this together its became a tank!
I have just read the news that in Croatian Arms factory in city of Karlovac ,the owner accidentally shot a guest from US, i immediately checked is Ian posting something , hopeful he is not involved .
These videos get posted weeks or months after Ian visits these places.
Kedves László, Nagyon köszönjük a taralmat és a könyvet. Kapható lesz-e esetleg magyarországon? Vagy csak a feláras EU változat az egyetlen esélyünk megvásárolni?
Magyarországra olcsóbb a szállítás a többi országhoz képest, $5.
@@keksimus__maximus Köszönöm!
Mr Becz! I bought your book. I'm looking forward to it.
I am very excited for this book! Had to buy two copies, including a collectors edition.
Thank you, Kevin!
Looking forward to this. There's a lot of scope for books about Warsaw pact firearms development particularly the Czech, Polish and East Germany. Although if you guys did a book about Italian Service Firearms I'd buy that too.
He thought we wouldn't notice
First time seeing this guy with a collared long sleeve shirt. Great interview!
Thanks!

A.O.A and Atlantic have been bringing in some Hungarian things, in case anyone is looking! Would go GREAT with this book!
I have a video on their AK-63D coming this weekend...
@@ForgottenWeapons Hubba Hubba! Thank you Ian, And EVERYONE involved!
Üdvözölnöm németországától! Jó könyv!
Thank you!
Pre ordered it. Can't wait to ask my friend Zoltán Szörös to sign it as well.
Nice!
cool stuff
This interview is so Hungarian that I grew a beard in 20 minutes watching this.
Beautiful, unusual cover. I approve 🧐
Thanks, Tom!
"Welcome to working for/with gun Jesus, grab a pony tail and beard that fit you from the back."
Is there on about North Korean and North Vietnam AKs and guns? Cuz I’d buy those books
There's incredibly little info on North Korean firearms, certainly not enough info for a book.
To them, AKMs are still cold war level secrets. If the west finds out how their upside down M1 Garand works, it’s all over.
Aaah yes the Hunglish is strong with this one. - Joda Bácsi
👍👍
This isnt forgotten weapons? Where am i?
Did the guy on the left work in one of the auction companies
Not that I’m aware of, no
"The Ian we have at home" 😁
Very interesting interview, thank you! One request for Mr. Jezen-Jones: please restrain yourself from interrupting quite so much. We absolutely want to hear your questions, clarifications, and additions, but the focus should be on Mr. Becz's answers. In particular, I'd like to hear his full sentences.
Doppelganger in a nice shirt?
1:16 yo what is that ak on the right
Far right is the AMP.
:-)
Is that an Ian from Wish on the left? 😂
You call that an Ian?! THIS is an Ian.
this is LAN
He is Ion. A distant cousin of Ian.
Ok guys, enough with the "where's Ian" comments!
After the first 10 or twelve they become BORING, repetitive, and trite!🥶
Find something interesting to do with your time!😛
Ian who?
bots out in force
Who are you and what have you done with Gun Jesus
Second coming. With an unexpected accent😆
If not for the ponytail I would think I'm on the wrong channel. 😀
There's something wrong with Ian, but I can't put my finger on it. New beard hairstyle?
