The decision to remove Splash Mountain was a corporate one...not a guest one. Even so, with the change being inevitable now, Tiana's is a subpar ride for MANY reasons including poor storyline, boring visuals, animatronics not working, sudden ride shutdowns for hours, etc...one person may have been fortunate enough to ride when everything was working smoothly resulting in a more positive takeaway. However, MOST of others experience across the entire previews has been the complete opposite leading to an understandably negative takeaway. Even if you had a great time Jojo, peoples experiences vary with this ride and facts are most are not good and that's nobody's fault but Disney's.
I agree that but you need to understand that rides break down that happen. It was just preview it help the workers that build the ride that need to be fix before Opening day so it could have a smooth ride
If people have a bad just ride again when it all better that I would do
Yeah and I didn't like the questionable choice to go with some boring Disney Princess sequel that was not interesting. They should've gone with the actual Princess and the Frog ride and give us more characters like Reggie, Darnell, Two Fingers, Lawrence and Dr. Facilier, and they didn't even bother to add spoonbills or pink flamingos, no 3 possums, no Marcel cat, no Buta Dog or scary spirits. the songs "When we're human", "Ma Belle Evangeline", "Friends on the other side" cut out from the ride.
Heck, I think Disney World and Disneyland could do us a favor and modify Splash Mountain and flatten out the climb and big drop off to a small wimpy drop off since this is a ride little kids would ride if it was less scary. It's too much like Jungle Cruise ride. Or they could demolish Splash Mountain and remake it a flat boat ride like It's a Small World ride.

I have been to other amusement parks outside of USA and it really made me realise how Amazing the Disney parks and universal parks are, they are on a different level and both amazing and so magical (and clean lol) I never take that for granted 🥰

I just hate how they could have give Tiana her own ride instead of destroying a former beloved ride and making it worse.
The animatronics arent working, the storyline sucks, and there is less animatronics than there was in splash.
Yes the animatronics are amazing when they work but they have been not working lately and having them breakdown makes the quantity that it has much worse and more notecable.
They could have even just rethemed one splash to Tianas and keep the other one as splash, its just bad to know that were going to have the exact same and bland ride in disneyland it just sucks.

I’ve said this on other channels. It’s ok if someone isn’t a fan of new attractions my problem is when people become way too aggressive and relentless in their opinions and go on and on about it. I just wish people were like I’m not a fan of this and just move on. I’ve learned as I’ve gotten older that if I feel a certain way about something that not everyone has to feel the exact same way and that’s ok but be respectful
Wouldn't you prefer that when someone says, "I'm not a fan of this.", that they qualify the statement and explain _why_ they feel that way rather than just "leaving it at that"? If I say someone else just made a dumb statement, wouldn't it be more helpful if I explained why I felt that way?

My middle daughter’s favorite princess is Tiana, and we are staying at Port Orleans Riverside in a 5th sleeper! So excited I have never been there before!

I wouldn’t be so bitter about Splash being gone if they didn’t try to remove the characters altogether. Why can’t the Br’er trio still hang out around the park and whatnot?
As someone who has no attachment to Splash, I think Tiana’s looks like a fun ride. I never get the drama behind these kind of things.
3:58 we had one of them moments as children with Esmerelda in Epcot! My sister was only like 5 and she spotted her screamed her name and we both ran towards her and she knelt down and flung her arms open ready to catch us both, back in the day when the characters USED to free roam in Disney world. You never had to queue to meet them back in the early 2000s. They used to be by the lake front near space ship earth!
Everyone has different tastes with new attractions - from what I’ve seen I’m mostly underwhelmed because I was really excited for the new theme and feel like they could do a lot more than what we ended up with. Especially compared to what we’re seeing at Universal and Tokyo Disneyland.
Some of it is ok, but it feels sparse in some sections if the story was a little better and there were more animatronics it would be better.
I feel like the problem with the animatronics is that they’re really close together in some scenes, followed but around 10-30 seconds of just the environment. If they had spread out the critters more, the issue of dead space wouldn’t really be there
We need to see the bigger picture ,Watching little girls and boys get on and see their favorite princess is priceless , Brings me joy .
Then why turn a 40 inch height requires thrill ride into a Princess ride?? Made and still makes no sense. Disney could have left Splash alone and made Tiana a beautiful dark ride that kids of all ages and heights could ride!
@@epcot8149 i also agree , They definitely could have made her own ride and left splash alone . But I think maybe it was cheaper for them to do and took less time ? Then again with how expensive everything is in the park I would expect no expenses to be spared .

Agree! I would LOVE to ride this and Frozen if only I could. 😭. I would love just a wheelchair accessible boat ride for both just to see the show scenes, animatronics etc. Thats the disney magic. No drop or thrill needed!
Honestly did the ride ever have a chance. Thing is it's difficult to get older, it hurts sometimes. How many people actually loved splash mountain for its theme honestly. The ride is the same ride folks little kids will love it. If the biases of adults weren't involved more would like it. I remember climbing that huge tree as a kid then when seeing that tree years later I realized that tree wasn't big at all. Having said that it was special to me and always will be. Maybe Tiana's missed the mark but when I first went to Disney World I rushed to the ride calling it the log ride. I was hot and wanted to get splashed and have fun.

Just because “kids will love it”doesn’t mean we should be happy with a worse ride. Kids are mostly easy to please they’ll like anything. Disney should learn from this mistake and just make new rides and leave the classics alone. Splash Mountains songs and characters were great. It was a quintessential Magic Kingdom ride and people will always be upset it’s gone just like they would be upset if a different iconic attraction was rethemed.
@@outatime8560 Well the ride is virtually the same and I don't know if you were a big fan of the 1946 film itself or the animatronics. I saw a film once that was at its opening a hit in 1943. I was stunned the racist comments flowed with ease at a time when it was commonplace. I would think we've somewhat moved on from at least some forms of public racism. I get it if you liked the animatronics better but I doubt if you knew much about the film. Oh and I'm no woke tear em down kind of guy. Things change, hopefully the rides improve to meet your standards. As for me not having the dragon rebuilt for disneyland's Fantasmic is way worse. Rebuilding that dragon would've shown determination and a respect for the fans. I'm not trashing anyone's opinions just having a discussion.
Love your videos Jojo. You are so calm about people being allowed to have different opinions about things. The new ride looks beautiful. It is hard when rides from your childhood are replaced. The nostalgia factor is big for me with Disney. So I get it. I look forward to riding this Tiana version myself. Once. I don’t like the big drop! lol I rode Splash once! For the same reason.
I don't normally write impassioned comments. But this is important. It is vital for kids of all ethnicities to see heros and princesses on the big screen as beautiful, strong role models, as lofty people who look like them and who inspire them as to what is possible. Of course I mourned Splash, but Tiana's log jammer flume ride will be a GREAT THING. I will die on this hill. Love u JoJo. Pull that sorde.

The lift hill and drop could’ve been so much better, the ride is really cool and immersive but it would’ve been better if they did a recap of the movie rather than it take place a year later.

Three days after my birthday and multipass reminds me of the Movie The Fifth Element
I feel like Disney dropped the ball on this one and they could have added Doctor facilier at the top of the last drop as an animatronic and as you’re going up the hill, you hear his song friends on the other side and right when he says side, that’s when you drop the laughing place could be where all the voodoo dolls are and you would see his shadow version around there
i cant wait to ride this with my family when come. it just feel more fun to me it got me dancing in chair.
I haven't been on the ride firsthand yet, but from what i have seen on the vlogs, it seems like the storyline is either not there/difficult to follow or has yet to be presented. The only reason it makes a difference is that Disney's reputation is based on storytelling (it's even the opening phrase on thier job postings).

JoJo, you should dig a little deeper😉 with Tiana's new storyline, her dad's military backstory to honor veterans, the zydeco music and so much more that's in this ride. Its all on Disney Park blog. Its a great ride although, I think TBA should of been a stand alone ride instead of replacing it with Splash. I never tried the Disney's beignets. Are they as good as Cafe Du Monde? I had those before.
I love both but I do love splash mountain just a little bit more!
Been comes to WDW since 1992 from the UK when we got married in Orlando, bought our 2 boys many times since then and we all loved Splash mountain. To be honest I don’t know the story of Tiana that well and loved Brer Rabbit so 🤷♀️ Coming back in October so will be interesting to ride it and see what we all think.
I am 9 years old and I just went on my first ride when I was 8 on splash mountain so I only won four times before it was changed and I'm so sad that it's already changing

Btw the snake works but if you really pay attention but the animatronics say different phrases and don't sit ans repeat the same things in a row. You just happen to not catch the snake part. That's the best part is that each stop you get a different narrative.
The greatest thing about Disney World is that Tiana's Bayou Adventure is not the only ride available. I loved Splash Mountain and from what I have seen/watched about TBA, I can't wait to enjoy this adventure as well.
JoJo be honest would it be better if it was on the track of Navi River as a new ride versus the track of splash Mountain not knocking the review but I still fell it should be new ride . Thank you for your honest opinion.
Good question. I think that they would need to make the ride system of Navi river journey a little faster. In bayou adventure I feel like the scenes are very fast but the ride is still pretty cool! 😎
@@sebas_isflaco think about it when you go to Louisiana you go on a boat it’s not fast nor is is slow . you would think that would be an awesome Reapir of the Bayou instead of a mountain.
Also the ferry closes early because of the drone show!
Have never ever wanted to go to Disney in my life but now I want to go just to ride Tiana’s ride.
I guess I would feel upset if they changed Haunted Mansion theming, so I understand. With this attraction, I'm more tied to the ride itself not the theming just like with Maelstrom in Epcot. I'm looking forward to checking it out for myself in July.

I like Tiana's i think it's cute but Disney could have thought of the retheme better. I feel like they could have done a redo on the western river Expedition that was planned to go in Magic Kingdom before it was scrapped to make pirates of the Caribbean and Tiana needed her ride but i feel she should have a like a dark ride in Fantasyland not a high speed drop log ride that you need to be a certain height to ride it but unfortunately there's no turning back now.

I thought it was a very good update. I hope they can maintain the animatronics. Rise isn’t the same without the cannons working, and it would be sad if Tianna stoped working and Disney just left it not moving.
As long as the leave Winnie The Pooh & Peter Pan alone 😂 They can upgrade the ride but leave the theme alone.

I really don't understand how you can say SPLASH Mountain was better.....The ride is exactly the same. The Animatronics are Better than what they were before and it's not based off of a racist movie anymore. I get it I went on Splash mountain Many times. But the fact that it's better means that it's better than before.

Tokyo Disney has amazing rides (storytelling and animatronics). Oriental Land Co. owns that theme park so their budget is bigger.

Yes there’s a story behind splash mountain and the controversy however things change and Disney has to reinvent certain attractions to keep up with new characters and princesses. I loved splash mountain and giving Tiana her own attraction fit perfectly with the splash overlay. Now they should retheme the Mexico attraction and change that to fit COCO. Things change and we have to adapt. All ethnicities should have representation.
All ethnicities could have still had representation without replacing Splash 😒
This ride should have been amazing. But they decided to not include the villain, no voodoo reference. Basically cleaning the movie up from anything mildly controversial.
Yawn... Several "high end" animatronics that really aren't that high end. Tiana? She stands or sits like a zombie until your log trips a sensor. Then she springs into action by swaying a bit and waving her arms around as if she had just done a line of coke before freezing up again (just some minor movement) and waiting for the next log. Most of the animatronics are barely more sophisticated than a Small World doll. The ride seemed sparsely populated and even empty in certain parts reminiscent of the boring Navi' River Adventure and I feel the screens didn't work well. If it's obvious it's a screen then they're not achieving the effect they were looking for. (Excepting an attraction like Midway Mania.) Where's the tension when climbing the final lift hill for the big drop? I guess Disney decided it was too scary for little kids - who are too small to ride the attraction anyway. The music is not bad, but it's not nearly as catchy as Zipadeedoodah. The ride is not terrible. It just pales in comparison to it's predecessor.
21,000 complaining signatures caused this debacle citing "a need for more diversity and representation in the parks" and Disney buckled even though millions of people visiting the parks had no issue with Splash Mountain. Those whiners were too clueless to realize that the characters in Splash Mountain _were black_ and they got them replaced with a black frog princess. Had they never even _seen_ "Song of the South?
Reskinning Splash Mountain into Tiana's is a classic example of how to turn a beloved exciting "E" ticket attraction into a mediocre "C" ticket attraction. If it hadn't replaced a superior attraction, Tiana's Bayou Adventure would have made a decent Fantasyland dark ride. At least they didn't turn the mountain into another gift shop or just close it up and abandon it I suppose. Matters not. I don't do Disney anymore.
The problem is that Disney is going cheap and it is not bad to call them out. Seriously, is Tiana’s BA really the best they can do?
I think it could’ve been done a lot better. That’s my issue I think not having the villain from the movie. Plus not having the song are you ready not playing when you’re going up the final hill.
Gotta say....with all the break downs, I won't bother getting a VQ for this ride on our August trip. It's the same ride I've ridden in the past. Maybe the next trip after they get it right💔

The last time I got on splash Mountain it was on 2022 in October when I went to Disney World. I miss it but now I want to experience Tiana’s by you adventure hopefully I can do those soon back to Orlando.

The more I watch “Tiana’s Boring Adventure” ride thru’s the more I hate it. It’s sooo horrendously bad! Storyline is weak and lazy, lots of screens and dead space.

Hello. I don't care that they want to change rides. But rather that they want to change rides because a ride is "racist." Even though the ride was based on the movie song of the south. Personally, I found nothing racist in that movie. But changing a ride that was loosely based on that movie and claiming a ride to be racist makes no sense. It's not like there were black face characters or slaves on the ride. And from what I've seen, the ride is splash mountain just with new makeup. So it's probably still fun. But I do believe personally that they should have just kept a splash mountain theme. Being an iconic ride.
