For some info for future builds including the campfires try using a shovel to put them out instead of water as it seems to be quicker! aside from that its a great and easy to follow tutorial for a cafe and helped out a lot for ideas for my friends realm! will definitely be subscribing

Just discovered how to make the lanterns work: all you have to do is crouch and then place the lanterns! I was messed up on that for a while as well but then I tried that.

@@claire_1402 hm... I'm not too good at wording things but try and place the pot on the yellow block above the trapdoor, if the trapdoor is on the top part of the block below, it should work (sorry if I confused you with the way I worded it)
I had problems with this too but figured out that you have to place the trapdoors on the edge of the block underneath the block you want the flower pots. You've got to place them on the upper part of a block and then put the flower pot on the block above it. So basically the flower pot isn't actually on the trapdoor. I hope this makes a little bit of sense but it's hard to put it into words.
TYSM, I BUILT THIS EASY, AND I WANT TO MAKE MY OWN CITY WITH THE FLAT MAP, SO the cafe, is added to my city, and was the first structure I built in my city. :)
i love this build! i cant place flower pots on the trapdoors and i can't hang lanterns from them either. also can't hand lanterns on campfires. weird :/ loved it anyway!!

For the campfires put a chain on the bottom of the campfire then you can place the lantern

How is he placing stuff on the trap doors, it won’t let me do that
you can crouch and sometimes that works but not all the time
For the flower pot I placed the flowers pot on to the wall where I wanted it first and it was floating and then placed the trapdoor under it
And the lantern on the camp fire
You can place thing on the side of the wall that the trapdoor is on and it will let you
