- Ksamil is a village and a former municipality in the riviera of Southern Albania, and part of Butrint National Park. At the 2015 local government reform it became a subdivision of the municipality Sarandë. The population at the 2011 census was 2,994. The municipal unit consists of the villages Ksamil and Manastir. During the communist era the proper coastal village was built in 1966 and is located south of the city of Sarandë off the road to Butrint.
Ksamil is one of the most frequented coastal resorts by both domestic and foreign tourists. Ksamil Beach and Albania's Ionian Coast further north was included in the Guardian's 20 of the best bargain beach holidays for 2013.

Very beautiful town and beaches, unfortunately people who hijacked the beaches with sunbeds will ruin the business for the rest of the hotels, apartments and restaurants in Ksamil. We drove 10 hours to get to Ksamil and when we got there we couldn’t go to the beach because at 9am there were no sunbeds available and you cant put your towel on the ground. The place is packed and very, very badly organized. Many people said they will never come back and unfortunately, it’s understandable
You are right. I'm Albanian and I stayed to Ksamil beach only for a day, as that beach it is always so packed that you can't find a nice spot. I enjoyed my time at Pasqyrat( Mirror) Beach. To me, a better beach, as I prefer the pebble beaches because the water stays crystal clear all day long.
Ksamil used to be an amazing place during Communism and before turning into a tourist spot. The whole hills were green, covered with olive trees and other fruit trees( orange, lemons) and no buildings around.
Now, we go early, make a photo and run away from there.....
Not for us( especially during August when we return home)!
