  • "In this week's vlog, we dive into a subject that's close to my heart - dealing with the grief of losing our beloved mare, Scout. It's a journey through the sorrow and tears, a reminder that it's okay, even necessary, to let ourselves feel the pain of loss.
Animals touch our lives in profound ways, and it's only natural to mourn their passing as we would any dear friend. So this week, we explore grief openly, candidly, and with compassion. I share my personal experiences, the tears shed, and the lessons learned in the hope that it will bring comfort to anyone going through the same.
Yet, in the midst of this sadness, we also look forward to the healing that time brings. As hard as it might seem now, I promise you - the clouds will part, and you'll feel human again. Your heart, though it may carry the imprint of your loss, will also rediscover joy, laughter, and love.
And so, we end this week with a thought: 'Find Your Smile.' In memory of Scout and all the animals who've left hoofprints on our hearts, we'll keep trotting, keep loving, and keep smiling. After all, wouldn't that be what they'd want for us?"

Anyone who says animals don’t grieve, don’t truly know animals. When our old dog died, we couldn’t say his name because our little dog would start searching for him thinking he was back. When my goat died this year my horse, who had been with him since she was 4 months old, she’s now 8 years, she kept looking in the stall for him because that is where she last seen him. I think animal grieve but continue doing what’s necessary to keep surviving. And like you, when Tag-Along (our goat) died, I cried in his stall so many times but kept going, chores must be done. I also believe I can laugh, sing, dance at the same time as grieving. I try not to deny my emotions as they come, I try to honor them all, and keep on, keeping on. Love this video.

Watching Pete and Ziggy comfort you genuinely brought tears to my eyes. I definitely feel your pain with losses on the farm, but we take the time we need in our journey. I’m so glad that you have Wally, I can see so many similarities between him and Millie and it just warms my heart to know that he’s your boy ❤️ all the hugs my friend.
