Look at Esfandiari's face when he's being hugged after his win. Pure ecstasy. He even said in an interview later that it was the best feeling he ever had.
You can see the dealer's hand shaking when he dealt the turn, burn, and river. Lol, yeah you don't want to screw up a hand when there's 20 mil on the line...
3:04 - INSIDE SCOOP: The EXCESSIVE HUGGING was part of a prop bet. Everywhere he and his entourage went. If they parted ways, hugs were mandatory. This made for pure hilarity if you caught an elevator with him. Because when friends got off on their floor (Antonio lives on the 20th) you had to hold the elevator while everyone hugged it out.
If you think about it, they could have made a deal to chop first and second place then go on to play for the bracelet. They each would’ve gotten over $14 million. That’s the deal I’m looking to make.
The REAL BIG GAME was at Aria in The Ivey Room. Bobby Baldwin and Guy Laliberté were hosting/bringing in whales. With a 5 Million Minimum Buy-In. Dealers got CRAZY tips!
@@gustaaf1892totally, most of the players sell most of their action. Just pointing out he didn’t really win 18 million. More like 1.8. He had 15%. Yes, when he first became famous he was an arrogant dikkk. He totally mellowed though and I've never had a bad interaction with him. His Dad is SUPER nice too!
He's third with $17m only behind Esfandiari and Negranu. I think he's played more WSOP events than pretty much anyone and of course that is gross winnings rather than net profit but still.
@@cookslooking10Hellmuth is 26th on the all time money list (3rd in WSOP money list). Actually pretty impressive to be 26th when he doesn't play many high roller events with massive payouts.
I know it's easy to sit here and criticize but Sam really seemed to let this hand get away from him. If he had the nut flush draw maybe, but he had to assume Esfandiari either had a 5 (which was beating him), a jack (which was beating him), a big pocket pair (which was beating him), or a diamond draw. Only the latter *and* worse diamonds is Sam actually ahead so I can't figure out why he would push a 4th bet instead of taking a card.
Esfandiari couldve had those hands but he cldve had ANY hand. He raised pre...so now youre gna fold to small paired boards and J high boards and also broadway boards? Why does he have to have those hands you said? If your Trickett, you have the flush draw so youre not likely foldin against a guy whos raisn ATC. If you just call raise, what are you gna do on turn when diamond doesnt come and he bets?...fold?, that sux..call?, that sux too..lol you gta raise now..all you did was give him a turn card and pot commited him. I guess long story short theres no way he assumed he had a 5
@@Ryno814To discuss your hypothetical, why would it have been so bad to call the raise and then just call the turn? Sure, you’re broadcasting that you’re on a draw but you never want to inflate the pot unless you know you’re ahead (or are planning a river squeeze, but are you really doing that for all your chips in this situation?). You limit pot size and give yourself two great chances to hit a diamond which in most cases is going to give you third nuts or better in this situation.
I'm not sure exactly what the stack sizes were but it looks like Antonio had a big lead. It's pretty apparent Sam decided he was never folding that draw as soon as the flop hit. The four bet after the flop was just one final stab at ending things without risking everything he had. He was hoping that Antonio just had a jack and would fold. When Antonio pushes he realizes it's a five and he's pot committed with a weaker hand, this the irritation on his face The hand played out itself. Neither of them were ever folding given the stack sizes. If the stack sizes were closer that hand plays out totally differently.
@@JBT42884 Thats what i mean..he has the draw, hes goin, why just call. One last shot just in case. When he gets raised, youre exactly right, he knows its a 5 but has to call...hey he still had outs.
A one million buy in? Where do they get the money from and how many entries were there? With that much of a buy in the first prize money of $18m isn't really that great.
With all the money he had this was $1 million buying he took on partners so he had to share his money but with all the money he has if he was gonna play, why didn’t he just put up his own million dollars?

welcome back to the future, marty
i still love you, girlfriend
Crap. I thought something cool happened.
Good for Antonio. He's a great dude who been in this game for decades. He truly deserves this W. Bravo Antonio
Always awesome to see these professional players compete with there 5-6 figure watches, designer clothes, and flip flops.
Love Antonio. Best personality in poker and an absolute killer.
SO DESERVED!!! CONGRATS MR. ESFANDIARI!!!!
$10M for losing…..I’d be one happy alsoran.
Roi is only 10x, cause buy in is 1mil, not high considering risk reward ratio
In that moment you'd feel
miserable
@miegstroem I disagree.. I just won 10 million dollars and 2nd place in a major tournament. I'd be happier then a pig in shit
No doubt it was a good pay day for him but he was staked for the tournament so a decent chunk of the 10m went to his 'investors'
He lose 8million, trophy and bracelet
This was a GREAT WIN 🏆 for Antonio E long time coming and he kept plugging along…!!!! Congratulations 🎊🍾🎉🎈
And with that win he was back to even
What happened to Esfandiari ?
Didn't hear of him in last couple of years...
And even less of Sam Trickett, the guy was crushing it in mid 10s.
I think Antonio semi-retired for a couple of years to spend more time with his family. He's been making the rounds again recently though.
After he hit that score he slowed down. Invested in businesses and whatnot.
Sims and solvers changed everything
you know they're not required to play all their lives right? they can play as much or as little as they want to.
And they celebrate at the end, like Antonio's buying them all lunch at McDonalds. Fantastic.
EsfNdiary from Persia
You are the Best❤❤

I would've folded at the flop. There's simply too much hoping involved in waiting for something when you literally have nothing.
Bravo Antonio 😅❤

„You‘re looking at one unhappy multi millionaire“
I remember this. I also remember that unfortunately Antonio only had like 10% of his action. Some happy stakers for sure. 😮
Yeah imagine if you were a backer and had 20% of him. You wouldve won twice as much as him 🙂
That's understandable with a $1 million buy in. How many people can either afford that or would be willing to risk it?

Antonio is best 👏👏👏
It's more amazing he spent 5 minutes acting the fool before he shook his opponents hand.
Noone has ever seen from Antonio ever again basically 😂😂
Yeah and?
@onlyweatherlol93 it sucks in a way because he was one of the entertaining ones.
Except for all the live poker streams he plays?

2012

his most bracelets of all time would like to argue with you.

Yeah finally a pro won the big one this century lol
What was the buy in on the one-drop? 100k?
1 million

It was “the big one for one drop”, a small field where the buy in was one million dollar each, hence the 18 mil for the winner
