    Just friendly older woman advice. I'm 65 with long curly hair ( a little longer than yours and as damaged) and dyed my hair for at least 30 years because of greying hair. I spent a mini fortune on products in hopes of making my hair healthy, but hair dyes completely damage one's hair - especially curly hair. I finally stopped coloring my hair cold turkey over 5 years ago. Ohh how I wish I had never started using dye and just accepted my beautiful natural silvers and other hues of those colors. The grow out was beautiful, like a natural bayolage. If you stop the hair dye, you would be amazed at how healthy and curly your hair would be. That said, I've also NEVER found anyone who could cut curly hair, and I've been cutting my own since I quit coloring, and the unicorn cut really does a great job! 👍

      Thank you 😊 I started dyeing my hair when I was about 25, that was 11 years ago. I have tried growing out my grey hair, but I bleached and dyed my hair so many different colors in the last 2 years, that it was growing out in various shades of brown, black and yellow. I'm done with box dye for sure, and I might just stop dyeing it soon. For now, I'm going to dye it with henna just to even the color. But grey hair is beautiful 😍

      @@asofiabicas Henna and after henna, you could use indigo.
      It is called 2-stage processing to get the dark color black or dark brown.
      Check how Pakistani or Indian women dye their hair you find henna and indigo in Indian shops or online.
      I am not advocating for any product, I am an older woman with curly hair I stopped coloring my hair years ago.
      The haircut looks good on you.

      I could cut it since my hairs also curly. I cut my own because even being a beauty operator they don’t know how to cut mine either. A straight razor works great to bring out the curl. Keep doing it yourself if it looks good. These young beauticians are really awful. They aren’t taught like I was !!

    I've been cutting my own curly hair since high school,, sometimes it would turn out good, other times not so much. But I've learned some things and saved $$$
    When I've gone to a hairdresser half the time my hair doesn't come out the way I wanted it to. But when I do the research and cut my own hair its always 100% the way I want it.🙂

    • @asofiabicas

      Exactly! And I should do more research 😊 but I tend to be impulsive and also do not care all that much if it looks kinda messy 😅

    You should always comb your hair from the bottom and do bit by bit working your way up. Starting from the roots and pulling the comb down might be contributing to the damage.

    • @asofiabicas
      @asofiabicas  Рік тому +2

      You're right. I'm not used to my hair being this damaged, I usually just brush it from the roots and it doesn't get tangled. The hair cut really helped with that!

    I think this method is perfect, especially for curly hair. It’s the unicorn and then the beard cut, I’ve seen others do it. Well done, the curls are coming back ❤

    I’ve been cutting my hair that way for a while because my hair is also curly, wavy, and often frizzy. One thing that I found helps with keeping the cut straight is that a below the rubber band. I have to do a lot less correct in and when I do it’s easy for me to see cause it’s all banded up. I also do the point cutting while it’s still in the rubber band and I’ve just found it so much easier.

    You need to start at the ends with your comb, and then work your way up to detangle your hair.

    So they still make the "No more tangles" spray? When I was a little kid, my friend had very long curly hair. Her mom used that spray on her hair before combing and it would comb smoothly. Made her hair shiny too.

    Ich kann leider nur in Deutsch schreiben aber du solltest die bowl Methode versuchen und immer nach dem shampoonieren deine Haare durchkämmen mit einem groben kamm. Dann über Kopf conditioner und die Haare quirlen statt gerade auszuwaschen.. Wenn locken sich nicht locken und gerade gekämmt werden sehen die Haare immer kaputt aus.

    Modified unicorn cut makes for a babushka appearance. Whereas the regular unicorn cut, I assumed meant that the hair looks like a unicorn's tail drapped over the head. Didn't realise it was the horn part 🦄🙃
    The results look great! 😍

    Hair dye is just so awful. Everyone’s natural colour is usually much much better. You need a deep conditioner. No, you shouldn’t be using a brush. You need to just comb the ends first, then a bit higher up, an inch or two at a time til you get to the roots. Never start at the top and rip it through. That causes tangles and breakage. With hair that curly, you need to finish with a hair oil, a few drops spread over your palms and fingers and run through your finished style. Argan oil is good.

    • @asofiabicas
      @asofiabicas  Рік тому +2

      My natural hair color is honestly just ugly and turning grey, but I'm looking for a less damaging alternative right now. I've been conditioning my hair and I think it is getting a lot healthier. I have no patience for gentle combing, I guess I have to work on that 😀 thanks for your comment
