How did u get that irreducible polynomial

How to calculate the 7x7 so the result is 3 in multiplication table of GF(2^3)
7 = x^2+x+17x7 = (x^2+x+1)^2=x^4+x^3+x^2+x^3+x^2+x+x^2+x+1=(x^4+x^2+1) mod (x^3+x+1)=x+1x+1 in binary 5 bit is 00011 which is equal to 3 of decimal.
