Given Dio's history with Purple dating back to when Elf was opening for Purple and Roger Glover and Ian Paice producing Elf's first record, this must've been amazing for Ronnie!
Man, I miss RJD. He was the consummate professional performer, loved his fans, and a voice that was out of this world. God needed someone to show him how to sing metal, I guess. He couldnt have chosen anyone better.
@@tieukhavu8832 Roger Glover played bass and produced four Rainbow albums: Down to Earth (1979), Difficult to Cure (1981), Straight Between the Eyes (1982) and Bent Out of Shape (1983).
I saw this tour here in Utah, U.S.A. It was Deep Purple, DIO and the Scorpions. One of the best combined tours I've ever seen. Stellar. ✌R.I.H. Rock In Heaven Ronnie and Jimmy.
He was pushing 60 and could still peel the steel off the girders in that stadium. Most rock singers are struggling by the time they're 40. DIO is Legend.
Tuve el privilegio de ver este mismo concierto en Buenos Aires en el Estadio Luna Park junto a la Sinfonica Nacional ... DIO hizo explotar el lugar .....
Fuck! first time I've seen this. Thanks for posting. As a big Dio fan seeing him with Purple as his band, and that is said in the utmost respect, is a fuckin combination of legendary proportions. Also seeing Steve Morse rip it up made my day even better. Respect and stay safe. Graham, UK
Ritchie and Steve are both amazing guitar players with different styles. Don't discuss who's better, both are stunning guitar players and my biggest influences!
Thank you to whoever filmed this rare happening. For fans.. the audio is acceptable but if RJD’s bio-pic comes out in the near future and a superior audio could be found, that would seem appropriate. Lots of history between RJD and Deep Purple.
Somewhere in a parallel universe a commercial is coming on TV advertising, “Experience Jon Lord and Ronnie James Dio together again on their new album Deep Dio. Order today from K-TEL on two records, two cassettes, or two 8-track tapes.”
It's fantastic to speak finally to someone who knows about music like you. I didn't read all of wedge173's comments, I meant he was right saying Blackmore was a legend, while I don' know what else he was saying before. You know what: I guess Morse is that kind of musician who needs to be listened when playing his own stuff to really understand his ability and versatility. I love both Geavy Metal and Hard Rock, and I grew up with Classical Music; maybe that's why I love Blackmore
R.I.P Ronnie, you belongs by the Kings for me,two are still whith us,Ozzy and Halford. Thanks my friend for all the happenings !!!Long Live Rock Roll!!!
this is really good. purple sound great on this. steve morse's solo was really very much his own thing but fit the song perfectly. and of course, ronnie is great as always.
Ronnie up there onstage with his hero - Roger Glover - brought all kinds of energy to his performance. He really reached down and opened up on this one. A treat to watch! :)
"Do not shut the most beautiful voice of Metal! Dio is doing an awesome sound with the angels and their harps distorted, touching the Lord's Heavy Metal!"
Rest In Peace Ronnie... You were my idol. since i was 5 Years old.... And in this video its sung and played extremely well.... the white haired guy... i dont know who he is but i love how he was like "wtfs going on?!"

1:30 both legends Jon Lord and Ronnie James Dio... R.I.P. masters!

DIO and Lord. You will be remembered.
Dio + Deep Purple = The best combination Ever !!!!
Yes mate, it's called Rainbow... 😅😅
Purple Rainbow. Roger also played with Ritchie on the Rainbows "Difficult to Cure", on which also he did the production.
@@tieukhavu8832 Roger Glover played bass and produced four Rainbow albums: Down to Earth (1979), Difficult to Cure (1981), Straight Between the Eyes (1982) and Bent Out of Shape (1983).
Dio, Blackmore, Lord, Powell (Paice is the best but not for Rainbow) and Glover. I wand to die.
DIO is the one that best represents the rock'n roll voice and energy .
I agree, unfortunately Purple wasn't playing with the same energy as Ronnie was.

RIH to Jon Lord as well.
Grande Dio y grandes los Purple
He was pushing 60 and could still peel the steel off the girders in that stadium. Most rock singers are struggling by the time they're 40.
DIO is Legend.
Deep Purple with Dio - This is maybe the best Rock-Band ever!!
Rest in Peace Ronnie and Jon
With black sabbath also it is somthing else
Tuve el privilegio de ver este mismo concierto en Buenos Aires en el Estadio Luna Park junto a la Sinfonica Nacional ...

One of the best voices ever !!!!!
THE Best voice EVER..
Not that great of a voice? Are you insane?! Listen to As Long as Its Not About Love or Stargazer and then tell me he didn't have a great voice.
He was such a great singer that this video showed him on one of his bad days.
asdfghjkl well it’s not even really his band. Wasn’t this a tribute show?
Rainbow in the dark🌈Ronnie you are the Rainbow in my Heart🥰one presence of eternity , we thank YOU so much 🔥
I like the way Dio was standing so calmly and then made first notes so strong without any preparation.
Steve is bloody brilliant as always. Really does a great job on this song.
Ronnie, Jon, we miss you...
If there's a Rock and Roll Heaven, the All-star Band should be Ronnie, Jon Lord, Randy Rhoads, Cozy Powell and Gary Thain.
Solid line up
And Lemmy Kilmister, Chuck Berry and Elvis as well
And Chuck Schuldiner!!
❤❤yes
Would have loved to have a complete album of new material with Deep Purple and Dio on vox.
Ritchie and Steve are both amazing guitar players with different styles. Don't discuss who's better, both are stunning guitar players and my biggest influences!
Земля пухом Дио! Классный был вокалист!

I remember this show in Dortmund -- I was there. Absolutely superb.
i saw Ronnie no less than 5 times and he never failed to impress,
he could captivate 10s of thousands of people and memorize them.
+trillriff-axegrinder I think you meant "mesmerize" ;-) and I agree!
+Giannhs “darkcraft96” Polygamatos here comes the kid saying the music is gonne nowdays
Wow. To be able to MEMORIZE thousands of people...
Somewhere in a parallel universe a commercial is coming on TV advertising, “Experience Jon Lord and Ronnie James Dio together again on their new album Deep Dio. Order today from K-TEL on two records, two cassettes, or two 8-track tapes.”
The voice that could fill any stadium...
A rainbow in the dark, always Dio always Deep Purple. Thanks for the video.
DIO is the only musician that can sing about rainbows and still be considered a bad ass !!!!
Dio and Purple. What a combo🤘🏻🔥🔥🔥
great band cool version ronnie just perfect and the guitar solo is very good in my opinion
Dio your veins are full with the rock and your heart it is of metal,
even in in your grave, you're still with us....
Awesome!
Thanks!
Just listening to this gives me shivers, R.I.P Ronnie James Dio THE true metal god and master, you will never be forgotten
I really like the way they play that G an octave higher. It gives the riff an upbeat, fun vibe. A neat version of the original, no doubt.
killyou45 just makes it sound like van halen
