@StrangeTerror You don't even need to take them off. Put 2×4 perlins over them and put pole shed steel roofing on. I gave up on shingles cuz the wind blows them off all the time.

I gotta fix at least one low spot, a wood pecker hole in the fascia, whatever damage that all has caused, and remove 3 layers of shingles before I can do any of it. Not even sure if I want to take the job tbh lol. But pretty much the owners bought another home back then. Then they decided they were going to go stay a couple weeks before they rented it or flipped it or whatever, and just decided to stay. I've never done roofing electrical plumbing (well, I've done some minor repairs here and there with plumbing) or heat/air so I'm looking for any insight I can get as far as what my best route is and what I can do to save them money. They're ABSOLUTELY amazing people and although they ARE loaded, (the house is STILL valued at 642k) I don't want to rip off people who have looked out for me as best they can from afar without giving me a handout. Edit: oh, and this is all based on an cursory exterior walk around 4 years ago and what I can remember... It's a shit show, but all the machinery and what not out there I can get running as well as anything I want out of the place is mine regardless of working on the house. Again, they look out for me, but make me work for it.

Pivoting door looks fairly simple but I bet figuring out where to put the pivot screws and how long the brace is a lot of trial and error.
