Α song and a film that marked an entire generation, I'm really proud to be a part of it .....................

Yes…it has been quite the ride✌️
@@KittyGrizGriz We're just heading into a bumpy bit of it, Kitty.
The days of my youth....was I ever so young?
When I was 16 and parents were out, I snuck my Moms powder blue Toyota corolla out for a drive (only had beginners license at the time). This song came on the radio and I honestly felt, I too, was born to be wild, windows down, radio blaring. I'm 72 now, but never forgot the feeling. Unfortunately, a neighbor ratted me out and I got grounded for 2 weeks, but still a great memory.
LOL. Awesome....the illegal ride that is ...
Saw this movie when it came out in 1969,one of the best.
"Talking about it an being it are two different things."
Brings back memories of the early seventies. I remember the choppers very well they were bueatifiul unique bikes. I will never forget the first time I saw one for real. Steppen Wolf was a great band, loved the song Born to be wild.
Same here Man, I remember late 70 driving back from Qld down the NSW south coast near Eden, in dad's HJ Holden towing a Jaco poptop caravan, a group of bikers riding choppers over took us, no helmets, girls hanging off their backs, One bike had a diamond tank, the whole scene blew my mind at that time, what a memory 🖐😎
Took a ride from CO to LA on a bike in the 70's. It was alot of fun for sure. 19 years old forever!
@@marilynnjacobsen1077 I'll bet your backside has never forgotten that experience either LOL. Seriously though, that truly would have been an unforgettable experience. Wasn't the seventies the greatest decade ever?
Who cares what you feel.

Live to Ride. Ride to Live. 33 years in the saddle. Lived by this song.
Super Era!!!! Great Music 🎶🎼🎵 I'm 70 still Rock n Roll!!!!
I saw Easy Rider when it first came out. The movie is what inspired me to ride. Got my license shortly after. It’s over 50 years later and I’m still riding a Harley.
Me too. See out there
Good movie huh? I was 16 and we were entangled in a WAR in Vietnam 🇻🇳.
Pretty much same here though I ride an Indian.
that movie affected every generation in every country. i am born in 1994 and i got my first bike that i built as a hardtail bobber...a p.o.s yamaha xs400 from 82 that i got for cheap. but i learned how to weld and bend metal to my will..(18 at the time)
Nimbus ,
This was really sad. These two guys made This movie and were mad at each other for the rest of their lives. I don't understand it.
God Bless them both.
I was stationed in Fallon Nevada when I saw the movie.
A generation that United for the people! I am also proud to be from a generation that tried to stand up for what was right!❤
Well done.Your generaton sewed the seeds of love and peace in the garden.
We just need a generation that is prepared to water the garden.May take a while.Maybe in the 60's of this century.
The most important line in the movie is when Peter Fonda said 'we blew it' meaning the 60's young generation had their chance at changing the world for the better but blew it.And also meaning the young generation were growing up and will never get another chance again.
Sad.But the 60's young generation left a lasting legacy of love and peace and future generations remember that .That's why the 60's is remembered and discussed so much unlike any other decade.
3 free spirits that were hunted IMO. Makes me angry. I am a free spirit and still alive. 71 years old.
Always wished that I had come of age with the Woodstock generation of the 60s. Loved the music and spirit of the generation. I guess that the 70s were alright too. I listened to the singer songwriter music like Jackson Browne and CSN&Y.
my dreams, my hopes, my youth, my travels and my roads .... between tears and happiness
Still sends the CALL OF THE OPEN ROAD after all these years… thank goodness!
Saw the movie multiple times ,,,,love the song st 72 yrs old i still ride , ,,fewl like an outcast
Same,I’m 72, still ride my Victory, and still listen to fab 60’s and 70’s rock! YOU’RE NEVER TOO OLD TO ROCK’n ROLL👍🏻
One Of, If Not, My All Time Favorite Movie Of All Time...✌️
As a boomer back then I was clueless, fortunately born to a surfing mom in 50’s … was my freedom. At 73, am still riding my long board without a leash in my mind … free surfing the zuvia
Shit, I was raised in the 1970's, and remember well all the hippies riding their choppers with chrome extended forks. America used to be free. I'm not sure about nowadays.☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️
I remember seeing this in a cinema in Scotland. I was 17 years old. Loved this film. The scenery in this clip is absolutely stunning and the music is great. P.S. I bought the Steppenwolf album on the strength of this track. Happy days.🤡
Ha...Me too
I've watched this film dozens of times and it still never gets old. Two cool ass dudes getting high and riding easy. RIP Peter and Dennis. Thanks for the memories. This flick is what made me wanna go out and buy my first Harley. And also want to give a shout out to Jack, he also played a cool ass drunk. I'm an old man myself now.
Peter and Dennis!! Who??
I'm an old man, too. Pushing 70. I'm still riding my 05 carburetored night train.

Elementary yet.
I lived through this era. I don’t remember anyone being so enraged over hair or motorcycles to kill anyone. But it’s a classic movie.
Led Zeppelin band was scared to death traveling across the USA on 1st tour; because of their long hair & guys with guns in back windows of trucks, eeek!
Had a buddy traveling south, he was beat up..2blk eyes, and they cut his hair
We all laughed
Saw Steppenwolf live in 86. Great show.
I love ❤️ this song ❤️ 🎵 💕 and most definitely the video, it's showing how you can just release yourself to just be free and enjoy whatever comes your way, cause you were born to be wild 🎉🎉
What you represent to them is freedom
AMEN TO THAT!!!
That's right if they see you being free it scares them because you represent everything that they are afraid of, namely being free, and being able to think for yourself.
Yep, need those critical thinking skills. This message is ringing out so loud with the political climate today…shudder….

Under Owens comment, it shows 2 replies, yet they're not visible...at least on my computer.
Who is afraid of that?? You need to be more specific
@@mitonaarea5856It’s the philosophy~meaning of the movie; listen to what Jack Nicholson is telling Dennis Hopper aka, the actors.
Reminds me of the best ride-trip of my life on a ‘89 Honda Goldwing 1500 along the whole Beartooth Hwy in MT-WY. “ BIG-SKY’S ” all around in every direction @ 11,000ft elevation, on top of the world feeling! Caught hail at the summit in July no tree cover and slick roads, on down hairpin curves. Glacial lakes & indescribable beauty.
Do it people, if you’re not too scared! 😘
“This road, Charles Kuralt's favorite, is one of the more splendid highways anywhere in the US. It serves Red Lodge Montana as well as the northeast entrance to Yellowstone National Park, the least visited of that park's five gates. I cannot recommend it highly enough.”
In the mid 70s, I remember playing in a bar in California and there were some tables put together that no one was sitting at even though the place was packed. About 11:00pm, 20 bikers walked in and sat at those tables, ordered drinks and were watching us until one guy got up walked to the stage and placed a crumpled piece of paper on the keyboard and walked away. ( this guy was about 6’8”) Our keyboardist uncrumpled the paper and found about 2 grams of hash in it with the note “if you can’t play born to be wild, you ain’t shit”. He read the note to us and said “key of E?” And we played it. Partied with those guys for the next week…lol.
That's Awesome!!!
@@shuster1921 good times…lol
YOU truly don't know what true FREEDOM IS! WE THE PEOPLE!
The only movie that I remember with Peter Fonda, but the music deserves all the credits!
Try Dirty Mary crazy Larry .
@@ronsimpson261 If it's a movie and I don't remember it...I don't think I 'll try it again! Lol I'm quite good at movies but we all have different opinions.
The best song
The Wild Angles 1966 biker film; has Peter Fonda and Nancy Sinatra. Craziness, women running around in underwear; cops chasing the gang, Peter and Nancy stood out.
中学生の時何回も観た。当時はどうして撃たれたのか理解出来なかったけれど今のアメリカを見れば理解出来る気がする🙁
Easy Rider for me the best cult movie in history I saw it in 75 in the cinema and I've seen it again lots of times....or how to try to live freely ✌️☮️✌️
No biker flick will ever come close. Love these guys and miss them very much. I wanna thank you guys for putting a little joy into my shitty life for 90 minutes. RIP.
This made my friend and I buy 2 motorbikes and ride right around Australia in 1972, at 22 years old great times were had.
Goldy McJohn, is the Canadian organ player that drives the song. He was born John Goadsby on 5/2/45 and passed away 8/1/17 @ age 72. R.I.Power music man🎹♥️🇨🇦🍁
It was one of the first movies I watched at the cinema. With German subtitles. I never understood the end. For me it was shocking. And the soundtrack is top. A great time back then. I always wanted a Harley but had some Japanese look alike. But for a Harley Switzerland is the wrong country. No easy going on the streets.
Late 60s 70s the 18 over Harley laid on the ground they said I didn’t need a kickstand clean. like good times ,neighbor was sergeant of the highway patrol. He liked the work. wouldn’t trade that for anything. Music is the driving force, many things emotional. I had the same problem with Music and go fast boats. That was the 80s speaking of 80s I’m 80 years old now ,I wouldn’t give all that up for nothing.
Go ahead. One of the best movies of all times.

We were treated quite badly just because of the way we dressed and the music we listened to. This movie showed a little of it

Back in the day when most rural people who drove a pickup truck had the "Easy Rider rifle rack" mounted in the back window with a couple of rifles or shotguns!
Thanks for posting those were the days
Great movie . Pity about the ending . Iconic song .
Freiheit pur. Mehr gibt's nicht zu ssgen. War unsere Jugend. Das war das größte. Gibts nie wieder. Einzigartig Karin
Dennis Hopper - wore the same Buckskin jacket and hat in the movie My Science Project at the end of the movie! Great song, movie, and scenes here!
Dennis looks so cool, fit the part well. Like the Buckskins, brown fringy suedes. Reminds me of the 60’s~70’s colors and clothes styles; loved my brown suede moccasins, lil’ Hippie child for life✌️

Excelente música de Rock, inolvidable.
If you were a kid and too young to own a Harley, you put a chopper fork and sissy bar on your Schwinn Stingray. I saw the movie at a drive-in with my parents and a car full of me and my brothers and sisters.
A Schwinn vs a Harley! Great comparison, in that both are the best, and all that separates them is a few years. The movie ain't bad either.
Dude I totally had a stingray with a sissy bar are you fucking kidding me I haven't had the gear shifter on the fucking frame 3-speed it was awesome

Women were so free in the early 1970's. Men and women were getting on, and feeling it. Freedom was whipping through the air in those days.
In fact it's a quite dark, it's finish on violent death.
@@Methilde ..possibly..it portrayed the small minded, bigoted hatred in the South toward hippies. It is too bad, because hippies were quite moral really,,,advocating peace, love, acceptance, forgiveness, tolerance, giving, caring for others. All they did was grow their hair long, and smoke some. Not really threatening... Hippies established many causes that later became mainstream-- environmental preservation, organic gardening, energy by solar and wind, etc etc.etc.
@@blairsterling6141 You're completly right but the USA were in years of violences in another way, Kennedys and Luther King murders, fights for blacks rights, Vietnam. It's a beautiful movie wich shows those two faces : peace and war.
@@Methilde true... many great movies were inspired by Vietnam, the war, and hippie repulsed by death, destruction, and hate. It was a tumultuous time, yet a time for incredible growth... and change.. 65 through about 1975.. absolutely revolutionary times.
@@blairsterling6141 For me it was a beautiful buble, an evolution maybe, but not really a revolution if you look at the actuals socials main structures.

Great Band and love this music
When my youngest son was younger than his brother and sister, he couldn’t be out alone, so Friday night after work and the house was empty except for my son and I. We started off with this song cause he was wild and loved my music and still does today he’s 35! On the way to high school then work for me we shared so much music. I was listening to my music and his music and loving it. I started off with Green Day 😂
Suprema musica dama.
The Two Ronnies version of this is hilarious yet still conveys the spirit, and no bikers or bikes get shot.😊
I had some friends that worked at the Fraser movie theatre where this was playing in Vancouver B.C. I was under age so they snuck me in through the back door to watch it. Brings back some great memories.....
I saw it Granville street Vouge theatre the ending the crowd ripped the snack bar apart on the way out
Now if he had pulled that fall back maneuver with the pickup truck he would not have got shot.😁

@@lurkenyautja5681 The US was at the forefront of many areas of important human advances in technology, electronics, medical, aerospace, and other sectors. Unfortunately greed, private and public corruption, political interference and power hungry individuals and a loss of appetite for advancement has made the US a mediocre power in the world, only relying on military power to “so called” look good internationally to the detriment of the populous.
Things were a mess back then
Make America great again
Hard to believe these two aren't with us any longer. As the Bible says: "A generation is going and a generation is coming, but the earth remains forever." Eccl 1:4
We were just just little kids when my brother and I and few friends saw this movie at the local movie theater her in my home town San Clemente southern California. It really left an impression on us a few of us already had holey beat up Levi jackets so we just sewed on a beat up American flag and rode around town on our always clean and waxed Shwinn Stingrays with highly polished chrome rims and springer front end raising all kinds of hell lol . I read somewhere that after the movie was shot Peter Fonda's movie chop mysteriously disappeared?
