- I had to do a little bit of correcting to the linings and the upper horn - no biggy. It was fun!
I then steered the bus with the sanding dishes to produce beautifully smooth a profiled sides and linings.

It was like ker-plunk at one stage! Unlike master crafts people of past who’s super workmanship was covered up inside the guitar, yours will be able to be viewed on UA-cam, so it’s definitely worth the extra effort.
Your attention to detail is fascinating.
I am building my first electric guitar at the moment. I am excited because i have finally managed to make something that is not complete crap.
Fantastic channel. My last great find of 2018 I believe!
Looks brilliant - very well done.
Great video as always.. Looking forward to the next one
Brilliant. Can't wait to see this come together
That nice, tight joint between the willow and the walnut looks good enough to eat. Can't wait for the next instalment :)
What a great design
A great build so far Susan. The body shape of your guitar looks amazing!
Thanks! It was worth the pain of bending the extra curves :-)
Goodness me.... How much um LOOOOOVE your videos.😍😍😍
Well done Susan! I have built two acoustic guitars in my life. The first one was a monster but the next one not so bad :-)
I'm a big fan of solid linings - I use a laminated poplar lining. Probably makes zero difference but still prefer them
Remember to bevel the inside edge of the tail block to the same thickness as your lining on the soundboard side before you put your top on. Otherwise, you will get a bit of pucker/tailblock print through on your soundboard on either side of the tail block.
Good point!
Fancy!
Hello Susan, i am sitting in quarataine watching all your videos. I realy like the fact that you dont hide your mistakes.
I am building my first guitar so i make a lot of mistakes as well.
i have a question for you.
Wouldnt it be easier to leave the lining at the back stick out a bit above the sides and than sand it on the radiusdisk. i did it this way and it sands away very fast.
Use a no4 paint brush to spread glue. It's the only way :)
I’d just use the spring clamps. Yeh
thank you
No Sue, you won't see US in the next vid, we will see YOU! 🙄
Susan, could you tell where you got the tiny plane?? I need one with a flat bottom
That was bought at a tool show, but in the UK Axminster and Classic Hand Tools sell them
It looks very much like the Veritas miniature block plane. Lee Valley sells them. Nice looking little plane, I may have to pick up one of those, myself. Been needing a small one like that for a while.
You can find many different styles (and prices) on Ebay. Search for "brass finger plane".
When you sand the second side cant/shouldn't you stand the guitar in the radius dish for the first side so it will be fully supported.
Tricky to anchor it firmly without cutting more holes in the radius dish
Binding tape would have saved a lot of work.
The go-bars were fun though :-)
ora live I am Portuguese and I like what I see. I should put the plans of what it does with measures and pay. Many bought and gave to some cats that we have.
