My late brother was a tattoo artist and he taught my friend of 40 years, who has had a shop in Tennessee for 35 years. And here I am with not a single one and intend to die ink free
Growing up I made myself love pain because I had to deal with it regardless. By 14 I was so angry. So so angry. By 21 I decided to get tattooed just for the pain. I tried to get tattooed with no ink but folks wouldn’t do it. So I ended up with about 30 hours worth of large angry tattoos. I got one tattoo specifically to protect me from the other tattoos. I had no idea if the tattoos affected my life or if the one I got for protection works. I would say that possibly the protection one does work and the angry ones also affect me. I wish I could just have them all removed. I would probably replace them all with different pieces of writing in my own handwriting, but in glow in the dark, or black light ink. I still love the pain. But I think certainty we should be very very careful about what we tattoo on our bodies just like we should be careful what we feed our souls. Very important things indeed.
There's data showing that some inks are toxic, containing mercury - and also that the immune system is under strain forever as the body doesn't like foreign substances in it, even if the ink were non toxic. So all round they are no good.

Tattoos are fine. You are fine. Don't let the rambling of a religious (nutter) person make you feel you are in danger. You can still be religious and love your tattoos.
Thank you for this video and thank you to Father for answering these questions! I completely understand what Father is saying and wouldn't get a tattoo just to decorate myself and without extreme screening of every aspect of the process, and its probably safest to steer clear of them overall.. However, I think it needs to be made clear that getting a tattoo is not necessarily even a sin in Catholic teaching, it just depends on many factors.. As to the many comments stating that tattooed people are all disordered or defiled, that is an extremely simplistic and proud point of view --> there are tattoos from the time of Christianity's beginning, and in just one modern example: Coptic Christians still tattoo a Cross on themselves, usually the forehead, to stand openly for their faith in a culture that is usually dominated by Muslims and Islamic law; also the Jerusalem tattoo which can only be done by the man in Jerusalem who has learned and kept up the tradition that is hundreds of years old of giving that specific tattoo to Christians. I agree with people who say steer away from them, and I can see why people might want to get them for specific reasons.. I just think it needs to be clarified what the Church does and does not say, especially in relation to sin, and what is culturally accepted vs Church Teaching. I'm curious if the people making these comments would say the same about autopsies (which the Church actually didn't allow for many years), or surgery, or hair implants, or dental implants/crowns/fillings, etc. (medically necessary or not)? The notion that "only sailors & strippers" got them is also a fairly culturally specific one, especially when you consider non-western but Christian countries.... I'm especially curious what Father would say about this clarification. Thanks and God Bless. 🙂
Keep praying. Don't stop praying. And go to a good priest or nun or holy person (one you know to be a holy, devout Catholic) to talk and to pray with and for you. Read the Bible. It will get better. Sing hymns and spiritual songs as much as you can. Get out in nature, and take a walk. Ask your Guardian Angel for help.
Get professional help. Prayers also help. When I feel down I offer my sufferings to God and just say I would rather suffer on earth than eternal suffering in hell. Don't let demons win. Suicide is mortal sin. Pray for God's intervention.
I often think about a person I knew through family friend. He was such a kindhearted, hardworking and ambitious young man-such an excellent example to his peers. When he showed me his tattoos, it was all demons, devils, unholy numbers and demonic text-the works. I was so concerned for him. He genuinely didn’t believe it would affect his life or his soul, because they were “just pictures that looked cool”. It gave me a horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach. It was like an open invitation for evil to overtake him. I don’t know what became of him, but I still pray for him all these years later.
Although that can also be bad, if done for your health it can be positive. The real issue here is tattoos following the sin of pride is what is deadly or can open a demonic portal. So it depends. Leaving tattoos that are already on your body is also ok if you can work on removing and dealing with pride as best as possible. However, there are other scriptures that can portray all tattoos as inherently unwise. I guess at best, they are unnecessary. You may not be forsaken by them either, but at best they are unnecessary. It's up to you and your spirit if you want to tread those waters. Taking care of one's health is very humble.

Tattoo ink can be cursed as well
There is no such thing as a curse.
So could wallpaper paste, cologne, pacemakers... gosh, we ought to watch out.
There's data showing that some inks are toxic, containing mercury - and also that the immune system is under strain forever as the body doesn't like foreign substances in it, even if the ink were non toxic. So all round they are no good.

I'm proud to say I am one of the few people with no tattoos

Do demons target people in deep depression, when their minds are weak? I am getting thoughts of despair and wanting to die. I feel so much fear.
Yes they can manipulate our emotions according to exorcists.
Get professional help. Prayers also help. When I feel down I offer my sufferings to God and just say I would rather suffer on earth than eternal suffering in hell. Don't let demons win. Suicide is mortal sin. Pray for God's intervention.
Say the St. Michael's prayer.
If you give in to despair, it is your destruction and then there is no hope. The Lord conquers all despair but you must choose Him.

I will _never_ get a tattoo. I think they look stupid. Why should I deface my body?
What about eyebrow and eye lid tattoos for cosmetic reasons due to losing hair and alopecia?

Although that can also be bad, if done for your health it can be positive. The real issue here is tattoos following the sin of pride is what is deadly or can open a demonic portal. So it depends. Leaving tattoos that are already on your body is also ok if you can work on removing and dealing with pride as best as possible. However, there are other scriptures that can portray all tattoos as inherently unwise. I guess at best, they are unnecessary. You may not be forsaken by them either, but at best they are unnecessary. It's up to you and your spirit if you want to tread those waters. Taking care of one's health is very humble.

Why would you put something permanently on your body, that if it was framed art, you wouldn’t think of putting on your walls for even a second.
You all seem to think all tattoos are some awful image when some are beautiful. They are memorials or a person a family member an event that was life changing for the person. If you , personally, dislike tattoos. fine. Stop making judgement on others due to your own PERSONAL preferences and making them into some religious baloney. And don't go quoting your silly little book at me.
I have a technology question. We’ve all heard of the use of spirit boards, an inanimate object, that people ask questions to and get a response, likely from something dark or evil. So, what is the risk of something like ChatGPT or another AI influencing us in a similar way? Thank you for your input.
ChatGPT etc is code. Not a ‘spirit’. It’s fundamentally the same as how you’ve just asked this question. I could just as easily be a bot answering this. Which again pre-defined code with branching paths to generate an answer. There’s no spirits or witchery involved.. just hard work and technological engineering.
Unless it becomes infested, I doubt it. It is not a medium, unless they do something to formulate spells into it.
I agree! Absolutely! No tattoos.
Demons are always flying out of my tattoos and the Linda Blair showed up doing the crab walk and vomiting pea soup, oh it was awful.
Who you gonna call?
@@richardmullens4707Church Busters 😂
You have my sympathies.
Once, when I was subletting, I heard footsteps running toward me in the basement. No one was home. Can demons make noise like that?
Get the house exorcised or blessed. and yes it is usually demonic spirits lingering around.
