- Romance for violin and piano in D, Op. 3 (1902)
An early piece by Russian composer Reinhold Glière (1875-1956), dedicated to Lia Ljuboschiz.
Violin: Alexander Sitkovetsky
Piano: Olga Sitkovetsky
I almost cried this was so beautiful.
It must be David Oistrakh playing the violin - no-one else can play like him - just love it, and all what he plays and conducts. Yes - it IS the King...

Beautiful melody! The only piece is that Reinhold Gliere was the Ukrainian composer. He was born in the times of Russian Empire in the german-polish family in Kyiv (those days - the main city and now the capital of Ukraine). This Romance Gliere created in Kyiv, where for many years worked in the capacity of professor in Kyiv Conservatory. 20 years of his 82- year life Gliere worked in Moscow and he was the member of Union of Soviet Composers. So basically we are listening to charming music of great Kievite and great Ukrainian composer.
Great Russian, Ukrainian, Soviet composer, not only Ukrainian... His music is for all republicas and all world:)
Love the 4 - 3 suspension in the last two bars
By that you’re referring to chord progression right
my favorite. Always play it in my solo concerts
So warming so caressing. Gliere a late romantic impressionist composer. Lovely
lovely
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😭😭😭
The most amazing fact is that this same Reinold Gliere, a romantic pur sang, has been Prokofiev's professor of composition at the Moscow conservatory.. But as with Stravinsky and his teacher Rimsky Korsakove, the pupil proved to be much more gifted than the master and thus became more famous. Voila!

, Gliere was a great composer. though not so great as Prokofiev. but Prokofiev was one of the greatest composers ever.
@@sovietclassic5301 I Honestly prefer Gliere's music to Prokofiev's
Gliere's Second Symphony is head and shoulders above anything Prokofiev ever wrote, IMO.
Strawinsky was more gifted than Rimsky-Korsakov????? Are you sure? How did you measure that? 🙂
I have the impression that melody is identical to one movement of Glière's famous Red Poppy ballet.
I think it's from that opera
Oh wow! Honey is pouring from my ears. Purr, purr.
Bedtime music for 23 April 2016 :)

The pianist is Olga Sitkovetsky.
Disculpas por el comentario. No se por que se cambio lo escrito .disculpa
That comment doesn't make sense. He says Prokofiev turned out to be more gifted than Gliere.
Que bonito
Oh, it's another reply. Nevermind.

Why is everything lovely considered crap?! Beautiful melody, romantic, sad. You want noise?! Is that better?

I agree with your aesthetic and common sense.
This is so beautiful.

Thank you. I am so sick of noise! They are all enemies of beauty and sentiment.
